This is a fantastic representation by a true gentlemen fighter with great knowledge of grappling. I think those who train in sport fighting can easily ignore those who get lost in other aspects of martial arts; so, just ignore the dislikes. @@sidhu139 I feel you. I suffered through 20 years of a miserable 7 year marriage. I'm almost 60 and my training is keeping pace with my age. My brother was 4.5 years older than me and when we would fight this was a natural submission I picked up out of survival somehow as young as 8 years old. It's the only way I would subdue him. Def a great technique....even saved me in a street fight one time before I even knew what jiu-jitsu was. Guess my point is "Great for All Ages" haha.

second variation its my favorite simple and it works great with larger opponents and with people that know how to defend against the roll they nevey see it coming. thw first time i did my opponent was like wtf. VARIATION AGAINST TRADITIONAL
Hey guys love coming back to videos to see what else stands out. This one video has won me a tournament Just wondering what you guys might do if your opponent tries to stand?
Great video. The way i am taught it is that if your opponent resists the roll they choke just as fast or faster and i experienced it personally. Do you agree?
They do look similar. The difference is that the darce reaches under the arm, then across the neck, and your hand locks with the crook of your elbow behind your opponents head. The anaconda reaches across the neck, then under the arm, and your hand locks with the crook of your elbow next to your opponents armpit.
Not to ever question a ground wizard like Marcelo but..in the 1st variation when he traps his opponents leg, shouldn't he trap the bottom leg so his opponent can't get to his knees? When you trap the top leg it is fairly easy to get to your knees and start defending...
I was like on that last one how he came up gable gripped it and then just was able to do it and I’m like I hope that he uses his leg because it’s right there and he could use that to help him and he did that’s what I would’ve done awesome
can someone tell me how i would use this? I am new and i am still learning. Would i use this when i sprawl upon the opponent going for my legs or would i use this when im on his back and i switch my position to the front of him to do the choke? Any feed back is helpful. Thank you.
Both of the options you said are plausible, if someone shoots on you and you sprawl onto them you can then attack the anaconda/D’arce. If you have their back in turtle without pegs in you could also transition to the front to attack it.
I've never trained in Jiu-Jitsu or any other martial arts in my life, but yesterday, I managed to make a friend tap out using this move when he took me down. (It could be a D'arce, I can't remember how he was positioned). I only watch UFC and I instinctively rolled my arm around his neck and I was pretty surprised that he actually tapped.
I heard the city of new york is asking people to stop using variations on their I love new york campaign. Kinda silly i think. Just as long as its not the i love n y phrase i think it's legal. Go figure.
I'm not boxing him in nothing..he said so in his own book he thinks head and arm chokes don't work easily on bigger opponents and require strength. Of course I didn't mean he sucks at them. Geeze..
His explanations answer every question that comes up in my head. Love his teaching method and how he breaks down the techniques.

MMAMELEEdotCOM na your point is you naturally discovered this choke on your own. which is pretty cool.
@@MMAMELEEdotCOM I found outside heelhook. Popped few friends knee. Then came to know about bjj. Now I am scared of leg locks.
Kimura is my favourite submission, but getting an anaconda always makes you feel like a badass.
Christian Schaefer condas are the shit man 🙂👌🤙
Most def
And getting a guillotine makes you feel like a chicken.
im a four-stripe brown belt and I've never liked the anaconda, but I've been getting more into them the last few weeks. this is a fantastic demo

You know it's not a proper Jiu Jitsu video is the background noise isn't louder than the talking.
Jordan Mottram beware of the Jiu-Jitsu instructor wearing a mic on the rash guard with no one around to attend class
Marcelo seems like such a cool guy. I smell zero arrogance and 100% joy

Now that dudes are defending the guillotine so well in MMA, this shit is indispensable for countering the shoot. Great stuff
Esses golpes de estrangulamento me lembra as técnicas de Alexandre "Pequeno" Nogueira da Luta Livre.

Your videos are fantastic, thank you Marcelo!
What's going on with the subtitles?
Um dos golpes mais bonitos do jiu jitsu encaixado você pode rolar e brincar com o oponente imita realmente um movimento de cobra !!!
Love the videos. But I would highly suggest a better mic when filming. Due to the rooms space, acoustics there is a lot of background noise and echo.
Very much agree. Especially with professor Marcelo's accent. It's hard to catch sometimes.
Jeff Zahnd first world problems....
