      Cheers Thrashmetal6666! New one coming up in a few hours;) The next few will be with Michael Tohme and Dave Younan. These guys have some AWESOME techniques to show!

      Submission Radio I like how you don't just do standing techniques or just ground techniques. The mix is awesome for someone who trains MMA, Jiu Jitsu, and Kickboxing. Looking forward to the new one!

      Thrashmetal6666 That's definitely the plan......and honestly, we haven't even scratched the surface. We looked at the techniques and saw that there's already plenty of takedowns, now we'll focus on what to do with your opponent once you already have them on the ground. Michael and Dave are really great for that. Later on we'll focus on some great striking techniques as well.

      Submission Radio Very cool. Have you seen Lawrence Kenshin's fight breakdowns? That's another place I'm picking up some great technique ideas

    I need to try this. I never go for a cross collar for example cause I cant get the other hand very deep. Or my opponent is good at pulling my hand off. This looks sneaky and simple enough for me to pull off. even on better guys

    Really nice. Nobody does loop chokes at my dojo. There's a "guile gap" that I aim to fill. Guys don't even try to break that low collar grip.

    Would it not still work if you grabbed high up on the gi like other submissions? I get that it would make it more difficult but I'm wondering if it would still work

    • @michaeltohme56
      @michaeltohme56 9 років тому +6

      Hey Bryan yeah it could still work but it will greatly limit the range in which you can go for the choke. With the gi looser you can choke from more or less anywhere. But the other main reason I keep it loose here is to keep the subtlety of what I'm going for to a maximum. I try to have no pressure on their neck and withing any horizontal circular motion the choke has windows where it appears as an affective option

    I'm not very good at loop chokes I'm a blue belt. I thought you had to get your arm pit over their hand like in a guillotine to effectively use a loop choke. This is a genuine question not a criticism of the technique in the video
