    Confused? LONG STORY SHORT:
    My name is Jess! I had a daughter (Lilia) at age 18 w/ my high school sweetheart. We mutually split up & co-parent to this day. I met someone new, got married at age 19, had twin boys (Kyson & Kaden) and another son (Landen). He cheated, we split ways, & he’s not around much. After juggling life as a single mom of 4 for some time, I met Chris, he had 2 sons: Caden and Tommy, who eventually became my step sons. After Chris and I got married, we had our 7th child together, Addelyn. We’re one big, complicated, blended family & every second of our story is on UA-cam, you can start from the beginning here: • 8 Weeks Pregnant!
    FAQ: Yes, we’re done having kids.
    FAQ: Names and ages of the kids: Caden (step son, born in 2009), Lilia (daughter, born in 2010), Tommy (step son, born in 2010), Kyson (son, born in 2012), Kaden (son, born in 2012), Landen (son, born in 2014), Addelyn (daughter, born in 2016)
    FAQ: Who are the dads? Gabe (Lilia’s dad), Drake (Kyson, Kaden, and Landen bio dad), Chris (Caden, Tommy, Addelyn’s dad)

    I had a lot of food aversions growing up and as an Adult I got diagnosed with ARFID which is typically an eating disorder that kids grow out of (I didnt) I would just recommend seeing a nutritionist for Kaden. Its really helpful and im getting more and more comfortable trying new foods everyday

      Me too! It’s so relieving to FINALLY have what feels like an explanation for being “picky”. Having supportive people REALLY helps.
      Happy to hear you’re finding relief in your diagnosis and finding new foods! 🫶

      I’m the same way, but I’m still extremely picky about foods and things being in the same plate or touching each other (I think I have undiagnosed ARFID or autism) because all my aversions are sensory-related.
      I used to only eat chicken or one specific soup as a kid (didn't try chicken noodle soup until I was 19-20 years old) to the point where my parents had to tell me that things like red meats were chicken to get me to try them or eat them.
      Also, when I find things I like to eat (especially new ones), I eat them all the time until it makes me actually throw up and gag just thinking about eating it again.

      Literally me. I’m not diagnosed but I’ve done my research. There’s also definitely another underlying condition. Like when I was younger I used to eat rocks, chalk, soap. Ya know things like shouldn’t be consumed. Idk how I survived past the age of like 8. But my family try’s to guilt me saying that they were once picky too and they grew up cuz they weren’t a little kid anymore. And I’m like ok good for you?? Even the thought of putting a new food in my mouth makes me nauseous and want to run away.

    • @maragigure272
      @maragigure272 2 місяці тому +2

      I also have ARFID and these past few years I have wondered if Kaden has it. Personally I would get him to a nutritionist ASAP. The longer you leave this untreated the worse it gets.
      I have tried to see someone but they said they couldn’t help.
      I don’t eat meat, vegetables, most fruits, most dairy, no nuts (unless it’s creamy pb.) I did recently add eggs to my diet, but it was one of the hardest things I had to do.
      It has gotten so bad that I eat the same thing every day. You have no idea what I would give to be able to eat the same dinner with my family.

    Has Caden ever been diagnosed or treated for arfid? (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder) His level of stress from not knowing if he will have his “safe foods” for the 2 days kinda points to some potential signs of having it.
    Hell, you may have already talked about it a million times before and addressed it in videos. I have been watching on and off since 2016 so I admittedly don’t watch consistently and don’t know the context of lil dudes struggles. I apologize if this comes across as over stepping. Just sharing my insight!

    I have the same rules as you regarding “bad” words. My phrase of choice is “words aren’t bad, but how you choose to use them can be bad.” It’s not okay to use it to hurt someone, but in songs they are allowed to sing them. My 6 year old has been obsessed with Hamilton for years, so I had to teach him that rule at a younger age than the rest. 😅

    • @GM-de7oz
      @GM-de7oz 2 місяці тому

      So what about the N word? You're saying that's just a word? Speaking is an action, and some words are not just words. They can be offensive to race and religion. Bad language cheapens a person's character, shows lack of self-control and creativity. It is neither a cool nor intelligent way to speak. At the end of the day, people will say what they want. They are "free" to do so, but that freedom doesn't make it always right.

    • @GM-de7oz
      @GM-de7oz 2 місяці тому

      @MoonNearSaturn Is the N-word just a word?

    • @GM-de7oz
      @GM-de7oz 2 місяці тому

      @MoonNearSaturn "Acts of speaking can be observed as actions intended to achieve a specific purpose by verbal communication. By this description, everyday utterances can be thought of as speech acts that can be recognised in terms of their intended purposes of questions, assertions, and requests."
      There you go. I looked it up. Did you?
      And, as I stated clearly in my first response, people have the freedom to say what they want. But not everything they say is going to be moral or right, just because they have that freedom. And you don't have to explain how life works to me. You are the one up on your high horse gasping and asking how DARE I say something contrary to what you think is in the dictionary! I am use to living in this world, having to share it with people who don't agree with me, which is why I was civil in my response. Unlike you who are immediately belittling someone who said something you neither agree with nor fully understand. Like you said, live and let live applies to everyone, not just yourself and those who think, and speak, like you.
      Also, my first response was not intended for you but the original commenter. I believe in Freedom of Speech and that no person should be punished by the law for what they say. I believe we agree on most things here.

    • @GM-de7oz
      @GM-de7oz 2 місяці тому

      @MoonNearSaturn Like I said, you are arguing with the wrong commenter. My first comment was directed at the original commenter, saying words are not just words, using the n word as the obvious example. We both agree the Freedom of Speech is Freedom of Speech. This is an action that shall not be infringed upon. We both agree that while this is a freedom, not everyone will speak as they should. But no one should go to prison for it.
      I just don't know how you so quickly escalated the topic of swear words/bad language to going to prison or getting punished for saying them. I don't think anybody here is against Freedom of Speech. Just some people don't like or agree with everything that is said, and that's okay.

    • @GM-de7oz
      @GM-de7oz 2 місяці тому

      @MoonNearSaturn No hard feelings:) and now the original commenter edited out that "words are just words" so some of what we were discussing doesn't even "make sense" anymore🙄. Lol

    As someone who isn't that long out of middle and high school (with a brother who just got into the same 6-12 magnet school i graduated from), even if your kid isn't cussing themselves, I can guarantee that someone they are around is (and this extends beyond cussing. In my 7th grade year, the first year at that 6-12 school, I can't tell you how much PDA I saw, both on the bus and at school...) It's a good conversation to have with your kid instead of punishing them for even asking. I know personally I feel like my mom never did anything remotely close to that with me (the only thing she ever did was grill me about if I had a girlfriend and then tell me I was confused). I knew cuss words from a young age, and even before middle school, my parents would often argue (although it got worse with time) it used to be that they wouldn't cuss in front of me at all, then only certian words were ok (that was around the 1989 album release lol, my brother was still like just a year old.) And then it just rapidly got worse. Anyways, rant aside, it's important to teach your kids that there is an appropriate time for words like that (I like Momma cusses take on it. I feel like there are moments and times that it is ok, and obviously moments and times it's not.)

    Growing up in my family no one used actual cuss words. We didn't even say shut up. We might have said darn it and rarely dang it or heck but that was pretty much it. We didn't say shut up either. Dad hated it when we said something was gross and he always corrected us by giving us the proper definition of the word. I was in my twenties the first time I ever heard my Mom say Dam it which made all of us stop whatever we had been doing and pick our jaws up off the floor. Because it wasn't something that we ever said in our house. This video made me really think back to how it was in our house growing up and I realized that none of us ever really used cuss words or swear words because it wasn't even used in the select few shows that we watched on the TV. We didn't watch much TV and when we did it was usually as a family. Back in the late 70s and early 80s there were not many channels to choose from and the selection of shows to watch were very slim and other than educational children shows we usually only watched a them with our parents and siblings. You have to remember that most people didn't have a TV in their bedroom and most young children were going to bed between 7:30-8:00pm and it wasn't until we were in high school that we stayed up past 9:30-10:00pm on a school night.

    you should check out what "mommacusses" says about the whole "bad word" and kids saying them. I was like wow...that makes total since to me and I loved it and ended up using it. My daughter was a teen already and I had told her that I was not stupid that I know that if she has not physically had the word come out of her mouth or typed it then she has thought the word(s). She laughed at me and got bright red so I knew then and there, She is now 20 and still doesn't really like to swear in front of her dad but she lets the words fly with me (not major words). to me they are words, we do not allow negative slang words that are cruel and just made up and used to hurt people. The same way that I dd not condone using anything to physically hurt people I m not condoning using words to hurt a person mentally and emotionally.

    I personally think bad words are disrespectful and not in good taste. If you have a good vocabulary you do not need bad words to get your point across whether it’s in anger or not. The whole saying it in songs when an appropriate age I get but that would mean they are listening to appropriate music at that right ages and now in days that’s hard! I was always told skip over it. Just my thoughts but who says I’m right or your wrong just my way of thinking. I find vulgarity very unappealing.

We have a very open relationship and I don’t think that I would have ever had that conversation with my parents so I think our generation seems to be doing something right. I told him it’s okay as long as it’s not towards people and in a mean or disrespectful way. The “F” word is still a restricted word. He’s my oldest and I haven’t had a problem with him using words irresponsibly at home toward or around siblings. I kinda feel like normalizing it a little will help to teach responsible language as they grow

    I really think getting Kaden look at by a nutritionist for ARFID is a good idea because when he is talking about not having food to eat at the camp I am thinking he may have ARFID I would look into the term and see if he lines up with it and if he does then I would look into getting a nutritionist opinion about it and he might feel better knowing why he has that fear of not being able to eat just about anything
    Jess herself has said Kaden is such a picky eater maybe there is a medical term for it

    My parents always taught me swearing is fine if used correctly. Of course you shouldn’t tell someone to F off. But if I’m watching a football game and I say that was Fing fantastic absolutely nothing is wrong with that. I didn’t disrespect anyone. They always taught me it’s a just a word. Very few words you shouldn’t say at all. With most words it’s how you say them and the context in which you say them.

(He knows he isn’t actually allowed to say it but he does it in secret and that’s why it doesn’t bother me 🤷🏻‍♀️) I can remember being a kid and it was the “cool” thing to do to secretly say cuss words just because they were only meant for adults to use 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

    I grew up not saying those words they were totally off limits, and as an adult I still really don’t, they were never a habit. With my kids I really had to think about how I would approach this topic. I decided that *I* do not want to hear those words come out of their mouths and I would RATHER they not say them at all, and I feel like using them shows a lack of vocabulary. BUT, I understand wanting to go along with the vernacular their friends use and I decided I do not have a problem with them saying those words with their friends as long as I never hear them and they don’t use that language in front of any adult. No taking the Lord’s name in vain is the only hard rule I have.

    I have always been very open with our son...when I was growing up I wasn't allowed to have a voice. By the time I had our son I promised to myself he was allowed to have full input on whatever the discussion was about....he was apart of the family so of course we wanted him to tell us how he felt...and if he was upset yes he was aloud to use curse words..bit he was never ALLOWED to be DISRESPECTFUL..if he started being "ugly" our discussion was over I'm done listening, talking or communicating....my whole approach was if your old enough to use those types of words then your old enough to use them the proper way..to think about what you're going to say ..along with why you feel this way...
    Mu opinion only I'd rather my son say the F*×+ all day long than go around saying Jesus Christ in a angrily way..or say GD... we dont have the right to damn someone especially in God's Name or I swear to God...oh and there are a few others that I personally don't like...one starts with a P@$$/..Cu^t...its degrading...that's all
