My name is Jess! I had a daughter (Lilia) at age 18 w/ my high school sweetheart. We mutually split up & co-parent to this day. I met someone new, got married at age 19, had twin boys (Kyson & Kaden) and another son (Landen). He cheated, we split ways, & he’s not around much. After juggling life as a single mom of 4 for some time, I met Chris, he had 2 sons: Caden and Tommy, who eventually became my step sons. After Chris and I got married, we had our 7th child together, Addelyn. Curtains don’t need to go all the way up unless you have drapes. Most ppl take curtains to above the molding.
I think your living room would look better with actual curtains vs sheers. Something solid and long would make a bigger statement! Such a pretty room deserves proper window treatments ☺️
I don’t know who said to put them up to ceiling but no. They need to be brought down to right above where window starts to the floor, they doesn’t look right. Just being honest

move the curtains down, I think it looks stupid with the rod all the way up to the ceiling.. just put it right above the wood on the window and then the curtains will fit
Hon, if you hang the curtains with drapery hooks instead of putting the rod in the pocket, they will slide open and closed easier, so you don't have to tie them in a knot. Drapery hooks are just a circle, like a key ring, that go on the rod and they have little clothespin type clips to grab the curtain. You can get them anywhere cheap.

i think the general rule for the curtains would be 5” below the ceiling. i would also recommend some thicker curtains. not blackout or anything but i think something a little less sheer would look more lux.

Looks like you got 92” panels, you can get 104” panels. Or move the rod down a bit, it doesn’t have to hit the ceiling. People watch HGTV and act like they are now designers.

Curtains come in standard lengths of 63", 84", 96" and 108" and even 120" for those really high ceilings. Since you're dissing people thinking they can decorate just because they watch HGTV I figured I would point out how you don't know what you're talking about either. 😂
The lip color on Addie in the car is PERFECT on her way better than the red!!! I love it!

With the bonnet, tie it around your head so the sleeves aren’t so long and so it doesn’t fall off as well. Once your done it should be like a bow either in the front or back, or wherever you started. Hope this helps 🙌🏾 13:33

Curtains from the ceiling makes the room look bigger and give it that hotel luxury feeling. The trick is to buy curtain tracks that you put in the ceiling, ikea have great ones.
I think regular curtains vs. sheer curtains would look better! If you prefer sheer, I wouldn't extend to the ceiling.
I recommend Cheer Athletics for cheer. I also have heard good things about Top Gun and California All Stars.
Near her is university cheer force which is good so they dont have to go far for it
Curtains should not be that high towards the ceiling, it looks weird. Who said they should be that high??? Definitely put them back where they were
I personally think the ceiling to floor curtains doesnt look right. It could be that the curtains are too light and you can see the wall through them. I would just go from the top of the window to the floor. It would look much better
Curtain rod above the window molding, actual curtains nice sage green or cream colored, make them long enough to touch the floor. You can open and close them as you please and would look great! 😊
Of course bonnets are legit. People with curly/coily hair have be wearing then for decades and they were invented long before that in Europe. They are just starting to be come liked by mainstream society.
Curtain rod should be a few inches above the window and go all the way to the floor. They do not need to go all the way from the top of the ceiling

My 15 year old was in competitive dance since she was 6 and just recently quit and made her cheer team for high school! You’re an amazing mom for supporting your girls goals!
I saw during Addies announcement, she hyper extends both her elbows. From your older videos she has always been able hypermobile. Keep an eye on her doing it with her joints. There is a large portion of the POTS/hypermobile/EDS community that are gymnasts/dancers/flyers in cheer. It's blown off in kids/teens but if it persists it can be a sign of a bigger issue safety wise as it makes you more prone to injury or internal issues that make you unable to do those activities.
Also and idea for the curtains, sheer forest green, that way it brings out he green from the accent walls
I just tried the bonnet last month and it’s game changing! I can keep Dutch braids in for three days now! It might even be great for Addie too! I have a silk pillow case but the bonnet is another level

As a retired all star cheerleader, shes going to love it! i started around 5 and did it for almost 10 years!! I loved cheerleading which my entire heart and soul. She will be so amazing! xoxo to all my retired cheer people out there
The bonnet + satin pillowcase combo is the real GOAT. That way if your bonnet falls off (I apparently sleep WILD), you've still got your hair somewhat protected. :)

As a gymnast who switched to cheer around 12, I don’t regret it for a second! And from what I’ve seen of dance moms and competitions, I feel like you would fit right in!!
Curtains don't have to start from the ceiling. In the UK you just put it just above the window 🤷♀️

Personally, I would put them just above the window... I gave never seen curtains placed up at the ceiling.... and touching the floor always looks good. Also, I can see Addie do cheer! Shes very girlie and very energetic ❤ she's truly gorgeous and I hope she loves it!

Alot of people have curtains up to or close to the ceiling to make the walls appear higher than they are.
It blocks most of the light this way if you're looking for a blackout situation

Your curtains are perfect at the top but yes they are a bit short. I was taught from a designer that the rule of thumb is equal space at the top and bottom.

Sheer curtains should go just above window frame. Solid should go to the ceiling
Get Linen drapes for the ends keep the high rods, keep the sheers and also they need to barely dust your floor.

Curtain rods placed that high makes the wall and the room look bigger.. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.. BUT the curtains need to just barely touch the floor. I did sheers with the blackout behind for our front window. I freaking love it! During the day we slide them open for natural light.. at night we close them for privacy 👍🏻
You need curtain rings so they open better and you need twice as many as you think for a more “high end look”

Hii I have a question about the club you out ur kids in for soccer? I’m wanting to join club that’s competitive but the problem is I can’t go out of state for tournaments. My question is that do you guys have out of state tournaments a lot or even at all? And if so are they mandatory? Cuz every web I checked isn’t giving me the exact answer. Thank you

I did cheer in high school all i can say is, please please look into ways to strengthen her back and wrists. Most cheerleaders I know either have back pain or wrist pain.

Omg cheer is so fun it will start slow for her and if she likes it move her up it’s so so so fun!
You can use a satin or silk scrunchie to put your hair in a loose bun before putting the bonnet on. That’s what I always do-it’s easier to get the hair in there that way.
One thing about Addie is she will always slay the red lip! It always makes me giggle! I bet she'll be a red lipstick queen in her 80s!

I started wearing sleep hats & hats out when I lost about 65% of my hair due to life threatening COVID (I was in the ICU on a ventilator for over a week). I had to shave my hair cos it got too traumatic to shower after I saw chunks of hair up the side of the shower. So I had a very short cut for a while. But as my hair grew back, by wearing the hats to bed, the frizz wasn't nearly as bad & I didn't have to deal with crazy beadhead. My hair is now almost shoulder length (I no longer have it longer due to migraines & summer heat) & the sleep hats still work wonders.
I got hair extensions and I had to start wearing a sleep bonnet every night and I LOVE IT. She isn’t kidding guys it is so worth it.

Your walls are higher in a bigger room, you don’t need them that high for that room space. I would put them right above the trim lower than you originally had them. If you want sheer I would also put other curtains with the sheer ones behind them.

I hope you are open with your twins and other boys about puberty. Girl puberty is hard enough with periods but I can’t imagine the boy side with things like wet dreams etc. I believe every kid going through puberty shouldn’t be held back from all aspects of it.

I think the curtain rod was in the right place, and what you had before looked fine especially if you leave them knotted up a lot, but I do like them going to the floor, it’s just weird having the rod all the way at the ceiling.

I recommend a competitive cheer team for addie, like an all star team in your area
Some houses look good with the ceiling to floor but it looks off on yours idk what it is but it looks better being at the top of the windows maybe bc of the color option you have idk
I have the same problem with my dog, it goes fro month to month, last month she ripped no paper and since March every time I turn around I find paper in shreads

Curtains do not go to the ceiling that looks horrible lol. They go right above the window. There shouldn’t be much space between the window and the curtain rod.
Cheer mom here, two boys two girls from what I understand Cheer is slightly cheaper than dance not by much and tumbling classes is good. I would look into some Flyer clinics. Those are also helpful.
It depends on the gym, the uniforms can be soooooo expensive 😅, cheer shoes as well

Longer curtains. Thicker curtain rod. Hang curtains from rings not the built in insert.
