- I was a 7 years old kid battling Leukaemia when Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler gifted me a Fernandes from his personal collection. At 14, Robben Ford pretty much gave away his 62 Fender Strat! This week’s VLOG, I share the stories behind some of my favourite guitars and how they make me feel!

That dire straits S was used on at least one album. Its priceless, what an amazing gift.
Watching hey hey it’s Saturday many years ago and watching this kid only a few years older then me at the time absolutely shredding On the guitar inspired me to give it a go. I soon gave up but years later after seeing you pop up on UA-cam it has once again inspired me and this time I’m older wiser and more committed then ever to be able to learn to play.
I'm glad Nathan Cavaleri is alive and well. I thought luekemia spells the end. He's very blessed. :)

One of my favourite guitar's is my dad's old 90's Peavey Nathan Cavaleri International Series SSH. The fretboard is scalloped amazingly from the years of use with that and his Peavey Bandit 112 that he both bought brand new when I was just a kid. If you're ever in Perth, it would be great for you to sign it one day. I've kept it in as immaculate condition as I could. Too bad there aren't many around, there isn't alot of info on them :(

Hi Nathan I remember seeing you on tv in 91 then in 93 I took up guitar not knowing that I was learning guitar at the same place as you until the teacher informed me at the School of guitar technology in Liverpool ,which is still there after all these years!

Hey Nathan good to see your well and good, you may or may not remember me personally, when you were battling with leukemia you use to come with your father Frank to the job sites and hand out pay packets to us bricklayers and labourers, I was a labourer at the time and work for Frank for around 3 years , I remember you and how busy he was with work and taking care of you and your busy little lifestyle , I remember Frank saying once how he might have to pack in the bricklaying game , how is Frank, I hope all is well , he was to short to be a bricklayer anyways lol, well my name btw is Paul Bird, I sometimes got a lift to work with a bricklayer name of Mark, say hi to Frank and also a huge congrats on beating the odds and coming out on top , wish you all the best mate,
