Daniel Mann - Touché. Love your content. Would love to see the industry subsidize it. But I too would value my liberty higher. Thanks and keep up the great work!
A tutorial on how you make the spearguns would be super interesting, what type of foam did you use, how many layers of fibre and did you shape everything including the handle from scratch? Awesome videos, very helpful, you should try and dive in Portugal, similar to England but with some surprises! All the best
A trick to making your dive gloves last longer is to coat the palms and fingers with 'tool dip', the latex or acrylic they dip the handles of pliers and the like to give better grip and electrical shock insulation. I used to get 20-30 dives out an untreated pair, and am on the same pair 8 years later after treating them. It also helps to keep my hands warm.
Your the reason I've got into spear fishing man ! I'm from jervis bay nsw ,still starting out but loving it , your advice is priceless! No clue how you have not been sponsered. Cheers for taking the time to teach us all you legend!
You put out some top notch videos. I always look forward to your stuff when you put it out. It seems that no one else tells the whole story like you do. Wish you could do this full time and give us more material to watch!
Great to see someone who is showing the real side of spearfishing..........ie not brand new gear and things you have put together to suit your needs. Like the drop weight idea. I'm going to get onto that
7 mm, 3 finger mittens was the biggest gamechanger here in the northern Norway during the winter. Still use 7 mm open cells, but smooth scin might be the way to go. Nice video, as allways! 👍🏻

Super cool video again Dan. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I have always wondered what those guns were :) BTW it's bloody hot here in Aus at the moment.
Would you mind giving a little more detail on your drop weight? I've been searching all over for a similar device but can't find a thing! Thank you so much for your videos. They've helped me tremendously.
Your a star mate, love the straight forward explanations and advice without ego. Im Turkish and dive in and around Didim-Altinkum, have eyou been here diving ?
Interesting take on the float line, I get it though. I’ve got a Technisub Ventura mask I’ve been using for about 10 years now. Can’t find another mask that seals as well or is as comfortable on my fat head. Shitting myself about losing it or it finally coming apart on me. As always, great video mate
Can you do a small tutorial for how to wrap your float line up in an efficient way so when I am about to go for my dive i don't have the dreaded pre-dive tangle haha Loving the video's mate.
“Figure eight” wrap. Go up the gun with your line, wrap around the shaft and bring back down the same side of the gun. Wrap around the handle and come up the other side of the gun, wrap around, coming back down again. Rinse and repeat. When you get to the end of your line, clip it back onto itself. Clip your float onto your handle to make it a nice easy bundle to carry with one hand. When you are going diving, unclip the line from itself, pull all the loops down off of the handle. From here don’t touch the line, just pull the shaft out from the other side, attach your float, and swim off. It will unwrap itself in a “figure eight” style, knot-free every single time.
I'm enjoying your videos. My journey has been extremely slow. I bought a speargun in 2003 when I lived in Swanage, Dorset. Whimped out of taking a Plaice that year, intermittent attempts since around here, West Bay, Dorset. Still yet to spear anything. I kayak fish & want to combine both pursuits. This sort of video is really helpful, thank you very much.
You still doing it at all mate? Been on west beach in west bay round table rock a few times if you know where that is. Visibility’s crap and yet to see much really.
@@ollieb4153 yes, I've got out a few times at West Bay this year. Only had a Plaice & a Mullet. I could have got out a few more times, but life gets in the way. Vis gets messed up by any wind sadly. I'm also out with my kids a fair bit snorkelling & don't take the speargun with me then. I was at Chesil Cove today, 3 Mullet seen, which I managed to lose. Lots of bait fish.

Hi Daniel, i love you channel! I just thinking could you please share video about your blue water equipment for big fish (buoys, spearguns, ropes, quick connections et cetera)?
Daniel, I am in the process of making a speargun from a blend of woods. Mahogany, Walnut and curly maple (primarily, because I have the extra scrap wood around). I'm planning on shallow water hunting around rocks and the deepest I'd dive would be 8-10 meters of water normally. Q- I've been wondering what triggers you'd recommend for the gun?
