    I could swim with sharks no problem, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to charge a large spearfish like that head on. As I say they are incredibly rare and not much is known, wish they were protected tho because chances are they probably have a low population and are probably highly endangered. Hope one day they become slightly more abundant as this would be an awesome fish to fight (on reel for me I don’t like spear fishing I know it’s hard but it gives the diver an unfair advantage and I personally don’t like targeted fishing) the record is I think over 1600lbs this was actually a small Black Marlin

      Tyler Melendez-Duke if you free dive in a 1000ft of water miles from shore...u are a little out of your human element. Advantage? Heck he was outweighed and the fish had a bigger spear.. not only is long line or drag net fishing have horrible loads of by catch, I see every fish I eat first.. if u have never been in the water, tough to have a solid opinion. Like I said earlier.. the hunt or just being in the water is the enjoyable part. No true spear man goes just for the kill.. if u try to hard you will never see a fish.

    I respect the fact that you were physically able to accomplish this amazing achievement. Though, I find it unfortunate that you destroyed such a beautiful creature in its natural habitat. With this sort of admiration placed on social media, it doesnt help our natural environment - which needs a lot of help at the moment. In a way, it does produce awareness however at great cost, no matter how big or small.

      What and trawler fishing is better than a man hunting for his food?

    • @tim5111
      @tim5111 3 роки тому +1

      @@brownboyben you are right. Trawling is severely worse. No doubt about it. It is up there with one of mans top naturally deatroying contributors. This man's hunt is not only for food. It is for sport - which is extremely remarkable. Though totally unnecessary. Nature needs all the help it needs. Its just that simple.

      Commercial fishing: kills 100 Marlins a day

      (This is just an example)

    • @tim5111
      @tim5111 3 роки тому +1

      @@prestongonzalez3836 your question is definately justified, no doubt about it. Comparatively, one guy fishing vs commerical fishing is clearly the lesser of two evils. In an ideal world we should all have the privilege to do one on one combat, and embrace its rewards, experiences and glorly - Like we used to so many years ago. A satisfying fantasy to have our natural world secured, and the possibilty of, lets say our grandkids or future generations to do the same is a common interest. Its an achievement and privilege of absolute - beyond most peoples comprehesion which i totally understand. It is just sad to see our worlds incredible species, terrestial and aquatic, slowly deminishing. And the chances utterly reduced for future generations, like the one represented in the video, becoming an unlikely future for future genetations is more than concerning. Our natural world needs help, every ounce of it. Other wise. Theres will be nothing left in decades to come. Think about it.
