Sounds to me like there waiting to see how this develops. HBO is pretty much in control ! I may be wrong. Let’s just hope it happens! Thanks once again Jeremy! Keep it coming !!!
I think a Jon Snow series is completely redundant. If it continues off from D & D's catastrophic ending of GOT, then there's really no point for the show to exist. It's just a bandaid on the huge, gaping wound that they left on the franchise. The only thing that can really fix GOT right now is to wait until the next books come out, and redo the seasons where the show deviates from the source material.
I feel like another best way they can really correct the mistakes made is to make season 7 and 8 , majorly season 8 as a premonition, they should construct the season as a premonition of what’s gonna happen in the future. (Like very likely possible reality or outcome). Like in a way that the events in the season 7 or 8 never actually happened but a foreseen possibility of what will happen. Like the whole destruction of kings-landing, the deaths and the murder of danaerys, missandei and jon’s exile…all of that. Majorly stuffs that really messed up the proper outcome of the film, or may really influence it. Without having to remake season 7 or 8, or bring up a new Jon snow series that follows the storyline of what happened in season 7 and 8, they should like create a season 9, a season where it’s revealed that a vision of that possibility came from maybe bran, or the priestesses, or danaerys herself, or someone. So they’ll be able to control or stop whatever tragedy that may happen or happened in the vision. And also like if dany gets to see that vision she’ll be more careful with her every moves and decision, basically just trying to prevent the worst that was supposed to happen, you feel me. (Same as Jon snow. It’ll prevent him from killing dany, and can also influence Danny’s actions positively to prevent any form of rage or going rogue). The title they’ll give it, if the movie is created this way don’t really matter. Whether it’s GOT or it’s Jon show, or whatever, as long as the movie is under GOT still, it’ll be cool. Though i believe giving it Jon snow (or snow) as the title will center more on the character of Jon snow, which i feel it’ll work out really good as well. I mean he’s like the best prospect in the movie, alongside dany. And another important thing. Bringing dany back to the movie series tbh will bring massive dynamics to the movie, i promise you. The both characters (Jon & Dany) are great characters to emphasize on. I just hope they consider her character (danaerys) and put her back on. All of these are just possibilities though. The actual main thing is them getting the series of the movie (GOT or Jon snow) approved and started with. Hopefully they will.
@@Randomonium66 Yh you’re right. It’s possible they won’t do it like that, and it’s also possible they do something like that, Doesn’t necessarily have to be exactly the way i say it, just something similar. Because the idea or remaking season 7 and 8 is never possible. This is just like part of a way they can correct it. There’re obviously a lot more ways to go about it. And bro why do you think they can’t do it like that though?
I was so excited to hear that there could be spinoff/sequel to Jon Snow's story because he was underserving of his outcome albeit to appease the Unsullied etc. They blindly didn't see what Daenerys was becoming. I was disappointed in the ending and thought they could continue this story to appease the fans for one. Jon Snow was the main hero in GoT., and this series is one of the greatest ever produced, so why not fix that crappy ending. To all who think it's fruitless - blah! We need closure. There are endless possibilities for a sequel. GoT & House of the Dragon have given us tid-bits that could be explored further. What is west of Westeros? What happened to Drogon & possible other dragon eggs? The various other Houses? Further invasions? In any case, if Greys Anatomy can have 19 seasons, I don't see why we can't get a Jon Snow sequel.
I like Kit, but my hope is that they continue House of the Dragon and other prequel series until they readapt ASOIAF with more redheads and maybe a taller Jon. Blackfyre rebellion is highest on my wishlist.
I love John Snow but it really doesn't make sense to me to have a spin-off show with him. I think it's better to let sleeping dogs lie and not touch GOT again unless they are going to redo season 8. I was excited to see the Long Night series because I thought we could get some answers to how things really went down in the Age of Heroes (not a bad title for a show btw). Usually pacts are made with marriages so I always thought those theories were interesting. I've also been super curious about the Night's King and the legend of him bringing home a female white walker and making human sacrifices etc. I also think Nymeria would be really cool. And of course Dunk & Egg but I thought George was still planning to write more stories for them. I'm starting to get the feeling that GRRM needs to have a trusted co-writer to help him finish the Song of Ice and Fire because as it stands the next book ain't never coming out at this point.
The fact is still that this spin off just continues the crappy ending that those quack Exec producers gave Game of Thrones. Sorry to say that, but continuing on that embarrassing crap will not end well! Best to see how George Martin wanted to end Game of Thrones, then see how you can build from that instead!
Nothing a song of ice and fire related that isn’t written by George rr Martin or based on his outlines is good. This show would most likely have sucked
That’s an incredibly narrow minded way of looking at it, especially seeing George himself loved Kits idea for the show. Plus we’ve never even gotten any ASOIAF shows that haven’t been based on George’s source material so there’s nothing to compare it to
Snow never made any sense for a series. Jon Snow was far too important to have a “spinoff.” If he was getting a series it would be a full sequel and would only be satisfying if they used it to redo the ending of game of thrones
This series only works as a jump point to future sequels, while introducing elements that might tease on other prequel possibilities. My pitch introduces Faegon but not as Rhaegar's son but as a Volantene noble of Blackfyre descent who tries and SUCCEEDS at taming Drogon. His ambitions have nothing to do with Westeros and everything to do with Valyria and Essos. Jon's sequel series will explore the glossed over consequences of Daenerys death and how from beyond the grave she shaped the future of the world. He goes with Drogon to his lair in Valyria and finds more dragon eggs , books of magical lore and artifacts which he wins instant fame with upon his return to Volantis . More a politician than conqueror he parleys his spoils into offering the elite of the other free cities a chance to become the next set of forty families in exchange for them allowing the recreation of the freehold and many accept. Jon hears of what has happened to Drogon and Aegon in Essos from Castle Black as well as the fall of Dragon's Bay to a slaver army, the Dothraki permanently enshrining the idea of a Khal of Khals to lead them all (something they learnt from Daenerys , as well as the use of armor and Infantry)which puts them on their way to forming an empire in all its worst ways. Was it right to Kill his queen , the answer increasing seeming to be No. The Jon Snow we meet in this series is not the Jon we know but a world weary, soul sick man who has lived to see the poison fruits born of his treason. His foul moods are made worse by being taunted as the Queen-slayer, just as Jaime was, he is constantly dueling other watchmen over insults as his armor of bastardry is cracked in many places, . Becoming too much of a problem for the watch but too important to punish as he is the brother of the King in the South and Queen of the North, they send him ranging for a year to remove him from Castle Black and defuse tensions. He is sent with a new recruit to be trained as a ranger and the two depart castle Black together. Tyrion , Bran and his inner council struggle to keep the realm from collapsing. The results of the great council are not accepted as most of the realm was not available to attend it and those that chose did not have the authority to decide for many kingdoms of the realm, this is especially true in the Reach and Stormlands who reject Gendry and Bronn. Bronn is forced by tyrion to marry a tyrell bastard and take the Tyrell name, while Gendry is made to abdicate to Edric Storm in exchange for accepting the new order of choosing monarchs, Tyrion is also made to forfeit any claims to Casterly rock , essentially dispossessing the direct line of lann the clever in favour of the Lantells a distant branch of the Lannister's. More accommodations that weaken the authority of the crown but serve to stabilize the regime are made. Basically a cleanup of the politics of Westeros. Sansa with the help of Arya', who found new lands to the West of the continent , gains control over the North through clever political maneuvering and assassination but is karmically punished for her role in Deanery's death with a coalition of Essos Colonist's led by Daario Naharis invading and conquering the thawing far North's, which they claim as payment for Daenerys help against the army of the dead and wergild for her murder. Tyrion is soon after this assassinated by Loyalists of Daenerys Targaryen for his betrayal of her. Bran allows his death after he serves his purpose of creating a new order for Westeros is complete, his allowed death we later find serves to prevent a cycle of revenge from forming between the North and Daenerys followers as Bran forces Sansa to accept the conquest by those who escaped the fall of Meereen as a means to make peace with the rest of Daenerys followers, she is also made to take in the wildling survivors who assimilate into the North. Jon in the far north finds evidence that the threat of the whitewalkers may not be completely gone and so does a Frodo like quest involving finding Dark Sister, wights and ice spiders to verify that their extinction is complete. he ends up encountering the ice castle of the Others and in it , the heart of winter and the Night Queen . He is bitten by an ice spider on his quest and the wound festers and near death he is offered the power of the Night King by the Night Queen a greenseer who uses her powers to peer in to his past and taunt Jon on his failures and their consequences while urging him like Tyrion once did to accept Damnation for the world in exchange for a chance to right his wrongs. It is the memory of Daenerys and her fight for a better world that gives Jon the will to accept his death and destroy the heart of winter, the source of the whitewalkers and the unnatural weather patterns in Westeros but without it to turn him into a white walker he succumbs to his injuries but not before telling his story to the trainee and making a last request of his fellow ranger who buries him in the fortress of the whitewalkers. His companion returns to castle Black to inform them of Jon's death and to take the Valyrian swords Dark sister and Long claw to Volantis as per Jon's last request, he gives the swords to Aegon as a gift and tells him Jon's story and his offer to Aegon which is to take on the extant stylings, titles and legacies of House Targaryen like Baratheon's did the Durrandons in exchange for a few boons i.e the burial of Daenerys, the protection of dragon's bay under their rule and to be better leaders than the Targaryen's of which he is the last were. A passing of the torch if you will. Jon by heading north and completing his quest ironically fulfils the original mission of the Targaryen's in Westeros and by making peace with and bequeathing the swords to this scion of House Blackfyre establishes them as the successor house to House Targaryen but based in the East. Bran oversees the reconstruction of Westeros and we find out that his mindscape operates more like an SI who tries to make the best long -term decisions for the world as he is the last greenseer, so he must sacrifice wants for needs and that is why he allows so many tragedies as he puts in place the next set of players to move to the world forward .We get the sense this is the ending of an era but only we get to understand that the other being Bran . We get an ending to this era and premises for expansions both forward and backwards in history. Well that's a wrap of a rough outline of my pitch.
