Tuned into this video because what I'm doing is actually adding a couple of pounds to my car - sound deadening under the spare in the hatch, and under the rear bench seats. I learned what I needed to learn, and enjoyed the video! Great sense of humor.
Excellent and free mod. Quick math, 100% LOL. As you said, it's not only the weight savings, it's especially the louder exhaust, DSG farts and pops and bangs on the overrun. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video. Just completed the seat delete. Im Catless DP and straight piped with pops and bangs. LOL its a little overwhelming but i like it.
I was really hoping to leave the little (driver's side) one in and have it be a viable seat for the occasional passenger but... from my end watching this through several times, that seems like a pretty strong no-can-do. can you confirm? thank you!
Needed to know how to remove the back bench due to water getting under the seats and in the spare wheel well. Not sure where the water is coming from, i think it's the tail lights.
I would guess it's fairly similar, remove the child seat hook covers, then pull up on the front of the lower seat portion and it should expose any bolts holding the seat back in place
I'm looking into to wheels, the stock Nogaros are 24lbs and I have been eyeing some 18's that are around 18lbs. So 24ish pounds in wheel weight, but I would probably wrap it in a 235 tire. We shall see, I'll try to do a 0-60 comparison for science sometime!
@@HardwayLearning my Austin's weigh 48lbs with tires but I replaced them with some sparco assetto wheels and those weigh 37lbs with tires on so that's a 44lb difference in savings.
The “privacy cover thing” is called Parcel 😂 and it’s not for privacy, it’s basically if you want to put most used stuff alone like a tissue box for instance.
Looks like the seat backs are sliding out sooo easy.. Tried that on my A4 B8.5 and the rear seats just wont slide out, they move like 0,5cm but just wont come out :x
@@HardwayLearning Yup, same mount in the middle. I can lift it out of the mount but it won't get off the stud^^ Tried to jiggle it out in every position
@@benjaminberger9629 that's interesting, once I lift it off high enough in the middle, I try to clear the other seat back, then you should be able to slot it off the rod on the outside part where the seat is closest to the door.
It definitely makes a difference. That's a small person in weight and it adds up real quick. This is why I go racing on an empty tank, I never lose but I never win either.... Can't figure out why it just sits there 🤔😳
You removed the center black thing that had the torx bolt? You lift up from the center and slide the seat towards the middle and off the peg. You also need to disengage the latch that prevents the seat back from folding down. Are you having issues with the seat back or the bottom of the seat?
@@HardwayLearning apparently I wasn’t yanking hard enough. Came right out. I didn’t want to break anything so I was doing it gingerly the first time but you really need to Shrek this shit out lol.
I'm disappointed in the lack of dabbing
Only here for the dabs?

Thank you, we try to be as informative and humorous as we can!
Did you do this in the end? Would you say it is worth doing?

Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Subscribed for the sheer amusement factor haha. Thanks for the video!
Lmao, glad to hear it! 🙌

Yeah, removing the back seat definitely let's more sound in, but I think it sounds cool that way!!
just did this (again) this morning. totally noticeable sound difference. lol
Cool, I'm doing this before Road Atlanta track event coming up. Less weight to brake into corners. Plus I'm heavy, lol.
Awesome, it is really noticeable when you drop that extra wait surprisingly!
You should've done a 0-60 comparison I'm really curious on this haha
Getting a dragy soon potentially, allegedly, maybe. I could certainly try this out!
Those rear doors look heavy. Just sayin...
I was thinking that same thing
Don't call me when you need that spare.
I probably still will. I'm sorry
@Hardway Learning Great video and all it helped me out alot buuuttttt did you type the word "dead wait" in the description? 😂😂 I like it
Holy shmokes I did, thanks lol!
Thanks dude!
No problem, thanks for watching!

I think you could actually, just make sure you put the lower black bracket back on to hold the center of the seat down.
nice! definately will do the same to my car
It's noticeable for sure!

Do you have a sunroof? It's very common for those drains to get clogged causing water to leak in through there.
Tail lights for me.
spray paint the floor black?
Why?
love this channel
Thank you! 🙌
Would love to do this but hate how “un-oem” it looks, is there a carpet or some sort of cover out there to go over the bare metal?
Look into CJM Industries MK7 Rear Seat Delete 🤙
Have you had any water leaks coming throw door speaker or did u find any wet carpets in boot or anyplace
I have not experienced that. Do you have a sun roof? My car did not, but it's a common problem on Mk7 and mk7.5 to have those leak
I want to remove back seat of my Volkswagen Beetle 2013. Can't find any guides online
I would guess it's fairly similar, remove the child seat hook covers, then pull up on the front of the lower seat portion and it should expose any bolts holding the seat back in place
I'm sure you can save another 40-45lbs with some lighter wheels.

coool!! because I bought my first set of wheels!! I bought Motegi Racing MR140 each wheel 19 lb with tires like 37 each
The clips where easy pull from the bottom push back towards the seat
Thanks for the tip!

Good to know! It certainly isn't for heavy things 😬
Dude you're funny as shit! Loved the vid!
Thanks, that means a lot!
Is this the same for the last generation Beatle?
I'm not sure it's probably similar?
You’ll wanna get that tow hook out of the styrofoam block and keep it in your glove box.
Holy smokes, great idea!
NOPE

Does it secure in the same spot in the middle? You might have to pop it up, then jimmy it to the side
