Someone on another video commented something similar to this; the lack of traffic might be explained by the high unemployment and decrease in population within this showcase city.
@@marcus3445 I hadn't considered that! We only got to see the amount of households in the one apartment building, but I'm assuming the lowest density residential form-code zoning we saw consists of many more 1/1 household buildings.
I have the feeling that comfort will be further explored in the public transport dev diary. E.g different modes of public transport can have different comfort levels (Bus
Usually on ANY bridge or "single-lane" like that, other than straight open road, (here in the US anyway) you're not allowed to Over-take, or "Pass". So for me to see a Bridge with "Passing Allowed" markings literally on the bridge itself, just looks funny. (Also, not sure how it is anywhere else, but we have no road signs, nor markings on the roads for emergency vehicles).. The only ones I guess would be Firetrucks. "Do not park here, Fire Lane" stuff like that. As far as an Ambulance, you can damn near break every traffic law in place, to get to that person. In fact, Civs are supposed to pull-over to a complete stop to let said Ambulance pass through un-hindered.
I’m guessing emergency vehicles on a 2 lane road will do the things we did when I was a cop and we were running lights & sirens, when the thru lanes are blocked we rode the oncoming side of the road to get thru
Oh for sure that option also exists. I was just thinking that traffic AI wise it would be easier to switch a lane in ones driving direction (for example parking strip) rather than crossing into an opposing lane. But both could work in-game I guess.
Can they really deliver the depth of simulation that's promised? We've been here so may times before with each dlc release for CS1. I doubt they will deliver- the game needs to be all things to all people- so may playing styles and such a wide range of skill levels and experience and a wide demographic of players. The main word is COMPROMISE in order for the game to appeal to as many as possible and to play on the average PC/Console. Rather than in-depth maybe you just get your feet wet!
It doesn’t make any sense that the buildings, vehicles and pedestrians look good, but the roads, grass etc don’t. I feel like a game from 2023 should have more detailed ground textures, as well as 3d grass.

Yes, I saw that comment as well after my upload. They might be correct!
Lets not forget that the population seems more realistic than in CS1. With the realistic population mod for CS1, the traffic decreases a lot!

@@marcus3445 shouldnt it increase a lot? like how is it possible for skyscrapers to only have 10 families in it

I agree. I think they will specify this further. Same as they did with accidents going from dev diary 1 into dev diary 2.

I hope mods can fix the horrible graphics upclose
I just hope this is because it is still in development or they reduced graphics settings for the close ups to increase performance.

And the roads aren’t even wet when it rains :/
That is why I suspect they aren't done yet cause the vehicles indeed look really good.
Otherwise, basically everything looks great so far.
