- The gulf sea state was very calm and I decided to run out and around to the beach side of Galveston South Jetty. Ended up getting on some good fighting fish!

It's very rare to see Galveston Bay flat and green like that. I was blessed with conditions similar Thursday and caught another limit of flounder. THREE times in a row for a limit of flounder. Man I love those fish.

I have this exact same Xpress, just the slightly smaller 17ft version and live near Galveston. Pretty cool seeing it in the bay. Wish mine had come with an aluminum trailer!

@@KagenFishing ikr? The only pelagic fish I've ever caught were striped bonito in the pacific and holy shit they can run and fight hard. I miss saltwater fishing so much haha

I fish South Jetty on a regular basis. I never used a boat though and have to fish off the rocks. Usually, past the 2nd cut.
Those conditions were perfect for a fly rod and a crazy Charlie white fly.

I’m in the Texas gulf so very different than the Atlantic haha and mostly fish inshore. It was just a perfect day to run out to jetties

Out of curiosity what kinda draft does it have ? It must not be to shallow or you’d be fishing the backcountry already lol
The draft is around 6 inches. Only thing is to move this boat I have to run the trolling motor which drafts abt a foot with the bottom skeg on trolling motor. If I got an actual push pole it would do great in very shallow areas.
Kagen Fishing ..well get a poling platform and a 20ft carbon marine push pole ... you don’t need that solo skiff any more lol 😝
