@Zeek Banistor Saying Bruce Lee/Lee Jun-Fang/Li Xiao-Long wasn't a real fighter, is simply a result of ignorance. He really did beat a western champion on an Euro-Asian High school boxing match when he was a teenager. He really did train under the tutelage of Yip man. From this interview you can tell that Bruce really did thorough research, analysed it and moulded it to suit his own body. He was a philosopher and a perfectionist at heart when it came to his own craft.
I am so sick and tired of these videos coming out saying that Bruce was nothing more than an actor and a cha cha dancer well I guarantee you back in the day and if they were back there Bruce would have beat the hell out of the people saying that and 15 more like them at one time he was the master

Actually what Bruce did is scientific and methodical. If most people trained the way he did they would see a significant improvement because it’s based on good body mechanics. All this “imitating” him stuff is nonsense. Yeh people do just try to copy his movie stuff but people seem to forget he was actually teaching a curriculum. True. Hundreds of witnesses who actually knew BL say he was the best. And people like Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Manny Pacquiao say the same thing -- experts 'after the fact.'

My interview with Paul Bax was published this month (December, 2020) in the "Original Jeet Kune Do Magazine, Issue #11, as I was an Oakland student of Bruce Lee. What a great video highlighting Dan Inosanto! And what a great man. I plan on watching it again many times.
Hearing him describe how Bruce Lee flow in and out of different styles while attacking, I can see how he gave traditional martial artist fits and why Bruce is seen as the godfather of MMA.
I had the honor of training with the great Daniel Inosanto for one day 35 years ago at the Degerberg Academy of Martial Arts in Chicago. He spent a lot of one on one time with me to disarm a swordsman with empty hands. It was beyond incredible!
Degerberg Academy always had an excellent reputation! I used to commute to downtown Chicago. One morning, on a corner near Union Station, I saw a young man with kali / escrima sticks sticking out of his gym bag. I took a guess: "Degerberg?" He smiled and nodded. "Good school!" I told him, and he agreed. We went on our ways.
I have yet to see a proper knife disarm, 95% get stabbed 100 times, nevermind a sword disarm, i was introduced to an art called Kali, which utilized the double sticks Bruce used in Game of Death. Very effective Filipino martial arts. Lots of elbow strikes , devastating art, made to end a fight quick
Wow the first time I have ever seen everyone in the comments section agree! Bruce was one in a million and there will never be anyone like him again. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us Dan.
This guy got me listing from the very first seconds ,found him randomly, speaks very seriously, knowledgeable,no bullshit ,no pretensions ness..would love to visit his school in L.A . one day ..
And THAT is why he excelled. He was just himself as we should be: Fighting, loving, Being as ourselves. If we can harness our greatest weapon, ourselves, we can move mountains.
I'm amazed at how amazing Bruce Lee's knowledge of responding to an opponent was!! It's as if he knew what your next move was before you did!! I wish to God that he had lived, so he could have put an end to all of the nay sayers that are flapping their gums decades after his life is over! If he was as awesome as he was 45 years ago, it truly blows my mind at how much greater he would have been now!!! He would have been unstoppable!!!!
Being fast is impressive, but your sense of timing is more important, and Bruce's timing was extraordinary. I've read an article years ago where his former student Jesse Glover has talked about how Bruce could read your intentions so easily. You could barely start to move against him and he would still beat you to the punch.
Dan Inosanto stated Bruce could call out in tv boxing matches what punches the fighter( s) would throw.cant help but think that was an ability he had, or maybe partly because he was an expert in wing chunk( trapping hands) & his hand- eye coordination was super exceptional.
Sylart57 your so right cause if he was around now he'd train even harder cause the overall competition seems more lethal these days so we can just try and imagine Bruce 2.0 Lee!!

This is really interesting. It is the real story of what kind of fighter Bruce Lee was and what he was developing. A lot of stuff written but not many people know. Danny Inosanto knows. Nice to hear this. Very refreshing to know that Bruce was a researcher as well as Danny. Danny carries the legacy on. Reminds me of the book by Carol Dweck called Mindset. Danny and Bruce were definitely in the growth mindset.
I have endless respect for Master Inosanto, and his knowledge and respect for others and his pure skill. I've been a martial artist for years and have been enlightened by him and Bruce by their technique and devotion to the art. Constant evolution of JKD which is so intriguing to me and their always for improvement and to evolve yourself as what Mr. Lee's and Mr.Inosanto's mantra was all about, again endless respect for these two great men!!
That quote that he believes God threw out the mold that made Bruce Lee. That’s something. Whatever you believe, it really does feel like we only ever got one and will only ever have one, Bruce Lee.
When an expert of the arts tells you how great Mr. Lee was in real life, only because he had the pleasure in eyewitness ING Mr. Lee's blinding speed by sparring, training, and actually feeling the power of his kicks, and punches. Believe him! It's just too bad B.L isn't around today to shut ☝ a lot of those cocky, and arrogant assholes who've gone on record bragging about how easily they could've beaten him! Guess everybody's entitled to their own fantasies, and dreams...If B.L was alive today, even at the age he'd be at. He'd still kick everybody's ass!

This is such an amazing interview. Dan Inosanto has such transcendent knowledge and truth being told here. I keep telling Joe Rogan that he needs to have Dan Inosanto on his podcast. I think it's strange and weird that he hasn't already. Dan deserves far more recognition than he has; even tho he is a legend in his own right. Not to mention Dan having by far the most intimate and truthful experience of knowing and understanding Bruce Lee's martial arts (ability, technique, philosophical approach, etc) than anyone else who ever lived.
Thanks to Sensi Dan for his insights...Bruce Li probably studied martial arts as much as anyone and Dan Inosanto is very knowledgeable as well...He understands why Bruce Lee would take from different styles and adapt or integrate them into his Jeet Kun Do system. He was probably the first real MMA fighter. We all should be able to grow and adapt in this eclectic approach...constantly evolving into each individual's integrated style. Thanks GM Dan!

Almost 48 years since Bruce's passing and no one has or ever will come near him. He wasn't just a practicing machine he was walking encyclopaedia of all kinds of martial arts. No one will ever be as fast either. Never.
Ban-do, Not everyone knows where Burma is (now called Myanmar) and Bruce knew Ban-do.. That freaks me out and admire him of his interest in developing his skill by constantly researching/learning different martial arts as much as he could and adopted and/or modified them to fit with his physical conditions (bone structure, muscle).. That is not an easy thing to do and not many people can do or should I say not many people may have a chance to do like he had.. There is no doubt that he was extremely good at what he does at his time with martial arts..
In my opinion this is the best interview with Guro Dan Inosanto on Bruce Lee’s incredible skills. He goes into detail revealing a huge number of different areas of martial arts, boxing, grappling, etc…that Bruce Lee studied. He doesn’t hold back in setting the record straight where critics are wrong in their assessment of both Dan and Bruce. He explains the truth of Bruce’s direction from Jun Fan to Jeet Kune Do. It’s incredible how many different styles of fighting Bruce studied including wrestling grappling and Russian Sambo. This is the video I’m going to share from now on to the naysayers who say that Bruce wasn’t a real fighter.
Listening to this and learning that Bruce took so much from so many systems, I can't help but feel that in a real fight, he would deck anyone. I can't imagine how devastating a Bruce Lee unleashing a barrage of elbows, knees and kicks would be with his precision, speed and conditioning. Fuck anyone who disagrees. If he ever wanted to fight in the ring, he'd have trained and won every. single. fight. But he was above that shit. He was himself. His art. His philosophy...and the guy changed the world as a result.
It doesnt work like that. In order to be good at something u have to actually do it. Bruce Lee was a pioneer in terms of philosophy and concept but his ring prowess remain hypothetical.

I had the honor of training with the great Daniel Inosanto for one day 35 years ago at the Degerberg Academy of Martial Arts in Chicago. He spent a lot of one on one time with me to disarm a swordsman with empty hands. It was beyond incredible!
I actually knew of a martial artist who was attacked on the street by a guy with a sword, and he disarmed the guy.
but do u think he learned all techniques of Bruce....thanks
Degerberg Academy always had an excellent reputation! I used to commute to downtown Chicago. One morning, on a corner near Union Station, I saw a young man with kali / escrima sticks sticking out of his gym bag. I took a guess: "Degerberg?" He smiled and nodded. "Good school!" I told him, and he agreed. We went on our ways.
I have yet to see a proper knife disarm, 95% get stabbed 100 times, nevermind a sword disarm, i was introduced to an art called Kali, which utilized the double sticks Bruce used in Game of Death.

Almost 48 years since Bruce's passing and no one has or ever will come near him.
He wasn't just a practicing machine he was walking encyclopaedia of all kinds of martial arts.
No one will ever be as fast either. Never.
...we got 'taco bell' segal!
Dan and Bruce were brothers Dont forget that
Silat is an Indonesian style martial art,, I’m shocked & proud Bruce got to research bout my country’s martial art traditional techniques as well.
This information was really eye opening....I never knew this. Bruce was far ahead of his time. !
Pencak Silat😉
Ban-do,
Not everyone knows where Burma is (now called Myanmar) and Bruce knew Ban-do..
He researched everything...truly a real martial artist.
Be like water, my friend.
