Homemade Butterfingers
(makes 9)
1/2 c. candy corn
1/3 c. peanut butter
6 oz. milk chocolate chips
1 Tbsp. vegetable shortening (optional)
In a microwave safe bowl, heat the candy corn until melted, stirring halfway through (about 1 minute total). Add the peanut butter to the melted candy corn. Stir with a rubber spatula until combined. Work quickly! If the candy corn starts to harden, microwave again for a few seconds. Once the ingredients are thoroughly mixed, use a small scoop to portion out the candies onto a parchment lined baking tray. Freeze for about 15 minutes or until solid. In a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with the shortening, stirring every 30 seconds (about 1 minute 30 seconds, total). Use a fork to dip the candies into the melted chocolate, tossing to coat. Tap the edge of the fork on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate. Place back on the parchment paper and continue to coat all of the candies. Refrigerate or freeze again until the chocolate has solidified. ENJOY!

#butterfinger #halloween #candy
finally....a use for candy corn.
Hahaha yes!
I like the cookie scoop portion...that makes a more neat, even distribution as opposed to cutting a sheet into bars
Hmmm fall is coming I think I'll try your recipe.
Yum! My 14-year-old daughter just made these and they turned out great! Thank you for this!😋😋
Oh awesome! Where did you find candy corn this time of year??
Chewy or crispy? I find a lot of this recipies get chewy instead of crispy just like the originals
@@yamilbermudez73 add cornflakes. But if you want it to be exact you'd have to make honeycomb candy and put peanut butter in it.
Butterfingers are my second favorite behind Reese's! These look so good and easy!
Yes--peanut butter and chocolate!!
Butterfingers are one of my favorite, too!! I never would have guessed it's made with candy corn. This looks so good!
why does use candycorn ?
it doesnt actually use candy corn, they use corn flakes in the factory
Oh my word, now THAT's candy corn I could eat! LOL And that's a great tip about the chocolate and veg. shortening! Great video, girl!!
Thanks Mandy! :-)
Awesome recipe!!! Definitely going to have to give these Butterfingers a try!!! My older kiddo loves candy corn, what a unique way to use it!
Thank you! Hope they love it!
Keep the bowl in hot water till done mixing
That's such a good tip! Even like a double boiler situation... Yes--because this starts to solidify pretty quickly. Thank you!!
I love Butterfingers! I am super surprised and amazed that you were able to recreate them at home! I never would have expected that combining peanut butter and candy corn would make butterfinger filling, lol! Great job Anne 😁
Great video keep up the good work
This is fantastic, and so much easier than two other videos I watched yesterday with recipes for homemade Butterfingers. And one of those recipes I saw, which was the most convoluted and took three days for the professional test kitchen chef to get right, was from a well known, fancy “gourmet” magazine! I love Butterfingers, right up there with my other favorite candy bar, Snickers. Thanks for this recipe! I’m subscribing.
Yeeeeesssss!!!! I love Butterfinger, one of my favorite Candies!!! You go Anne!!
This recipe blew my mind! Thanks, Anne.
Thanks for taking the time to watch so many of my videos. I really appreciate it! :-)
Looks great! Do they get crispy inside?
The texture of the inside is quite similar to a classic butterfinger. Definitely a dry flakiness--I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!
I'll be trying this!
Yay! I think you'll love them! I don't like the new Butterfinger recipe, and these taste like classic Butterfingers.
I have got to try these!!! Candy corn, peanut butter and chocolate in one?!?! Omg!!! Great collabing with you!!!
You too! :-)
I love candy corn and butterfingers so I will definitely try this recipe!!!
Awesome! Hope you love it!
Omg...how delicious and easy. I am so making these for Christmas
I’m seeing this on Christmas Day 2020. I had a houseful and now it’s about 10 pm and I’m chilling with my UA-cam. And this recipe pops up, so I had to click. Candy corn? Wtf? Butterfingers are me and my husband’s favorite candy. We are mildly obsessed. How did YT know this? That algorithm is smart as heck. Still, candy corn?
haha--I know! My computer/phone are definitely mind readers... Lol so many people are like, throw away all the candy corn, but seriously these taste just like original butterfingers and you can finally have a use for all that candy corn!
I also saw this done with almond bark chocolate!
Either way = Yum!
Thanks!
Yummy! Yes that always makes a nice, smooth coating 👍🏻
I gotta make these for my husband he LOVES butterfingers how stinking cool! Hahahaha the ice cream 🤣🤣🤣 I’m so glad you did this collab with me girl!! This was so fun!! 💕
How yummy!! Great idea! Gonna have to try this!
Butterfingers!! 🤤🤤 You are so much fun! I love your energy!
Thank you! I LOVED your Halloween touches in your video! I need to work on my props, haha!
Does this taste like the original butterfinger because i hate the new recipe and i need that classic butterfinger taste. Also i seen that butterfinger uses cornflakes in the butterfinger to make it crispy.
Hi! In my opinion, YES. The new version of Butterfinger is gross. Someone else mentioned to me about the cornflakes--these surprisingly have a flaky/crunchy texture, but I'm sure you could Google other recipes to cross check and throw in some cornflakes to this one if you want!
Anne's Family Recipe great video 👍
Thanks for the reply
I made this today. It's almost like the original recipe from butterfingers.
Yes!!
I love ur show
Thanks!!
Never heard about these, and I just live them, they look Sooo good😍
Yummmm. Thank youuuuu
Love these !!! I actually just saw this recipe recently!! How great is this !! A Great Way to use up those candy corns for sure !! Great share Anne !! 🎃🍂🌿🍁👌👩🏼🍳
Could you do the candy melting part on the stove?
Yes! In a double boiler. Bring a pot of water to a simmer then put the candy in a heat safe glass bowl overtop. Just make sure the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water!
I love butterfinger, I am eating butterfinger right now. You are cute , I suscribed 👌
Lol thanks!
I'll have to try this. Funny think. . . I don't like candy corn but LLLLOOOOVVVVVEEEE *Butterfingers* :)
Haha so many people say that! I promise these taste exactly like Butterfinger! The candy corn just helps with that butterfinger texture
If you really wanna create an instant butter finger .all you gotta do is get few 10 cent chick o sticks candy and dip them in melted milk chocolate.
I’ve never heard of that candy!
I remember the Smiple cooking channel guy got the idea of using candy corn to make butterfiger
They look so good. Butterfingers are the best. The only problem is I would eat the whole batch!
Yes, lol! This recipe only made 9 so it wasn't TOO tempting haha!
Does this taste like the original recipe Butterfinger (Nestle) or like the new recipe (Ferrero Rocher)?
I think the original! I don’t like the new butterfingers ☹️
Is it really crunchy?
It is! But not like teeth breaking crunchy haha just that kind of crunchy/sticky butterfinger texture-seriously shocking how similar the finished product here is to a classic butterfinger!
How long did it take for you to gain that many subs?... I have 318 which is awesome but man it is tough..
Great video thanks...
Hi! It has taken me 2.5 years to grow this much. I have never paid for subscribers or likes or anything like that. I do try to "collaborate" with other channels I enjoy to be seen by a new audience. Otherwise, in my case, it has just been luck and slow but steady growth. Consistency is important when you're new. I started my first year making 2 videos a week every single week. Now I post one video a week. GOOD LUCK!!!
Hi Anne, I came to you from the shout out from Dolores from the baking diva. Fun colab you are doing. I love Twix snickers and butterfingers. Oh and I love resses also
You know what they all have in common?...CHOCOLATE!
Almost all of the Buttetfinger clone recipes I've seen involve these three ingredients. I just don't see how you could get a flaky/crunchy texture by melting candy corn and combining it with peanut butter. I'll have to give it a shot and see...
I know! It's wild. Just try it. It becomes kind of chewy/flaky/crunchy. Some people have commented that if you add in some cornflakes it boosts the crunch factor.
Chewy like kind of sticks to your teeth, if that makes sense.
@@AnnesFamilyRecipe Thanks for the reply! I'm going to try it both ways - your recipe, and another I found that throws in crushed corn flakes....
@@Spacejockey426 awesome-let me know the results!
Hi there! your intro is soo soo cute! My MIL is upset they "changed the butterfinger formula" I don't eat them enough to tell a difference. Maybe this is the solution! also great way to use candy corn! I am not the biggest fan of that haha! yummy yum!
I haven't tried the new formula yet! I've heard poor reviews though--I'm hoping the miniature butterfingers from trick-or-treating this year are still the old version!
@@AnnesFamilyRecipe here's hoping!!
These are nothing like butterfingers, the candy corn and peanut butter just makes them peanut butter flavored candy corn, not the crunchy center of butterfingers. For that you need to add a heated candy mixture to peanut butter.
I do melt the candy corn into a liquid then stir it into the peanut butter and the texture and taste are shockingly very similar to classic butterfingers!
Sis I'm make From my mom🤗
I would love to make some of those but we don’t have candy corn over here. I don’t even know of any candy here that are similar to candy corn. Skittles would be the only thing that might be close. I like butterfingers. We have had them when we traveled to USA. My absolute favourite candy from USA is skor bars. I prefer Cadbury chocolate though.
Cheryle, I LOVE Skor Bars! Anything toffee is always a favorite for me.
Order online...
That's a cool recipe!.
Interesting video ..Thanks for the video 😍😍
Thank you for watching!
i am going to make this, i am watching this 12-21-2020, they have changed butterfinger's recipe!!!and I hate it. the bars now just taste awful. nice to know i can recreate the old fashioned ones. if it ain't broke don't fix it!!!
Ugh, I TOTALLY agree with you! That new recipe is gross and not the same. These definitely taste CLASSIC.
Peanut butter melts too so why not just melt the 2 together
Good question! Maybe they don't melt at the same rate, so the peanut butter would burn before the candy corn was completely melted? I never tried it.
Anne's Family Recipe
I did have to monitor the fuck out of it though but I assume that’s the case no matter what
Nifrum....plzzzzz the bad words are not necessary. This is a family recipe site not a porn site. Get a gripe on yourself. God bless you!
@@doghairdontcarelindaniel7531
That’s not really my problem
No corn flakes?
Nope! Is that something you’ve seen in other recipes? Makes sense for the texture, although these are very close as is!
@@AnnesFamilyRecipe The original recipe has corn flakes, as well a another YT video by Randy's Candies. Just curious. This used to be my favorite, but I got off sugar years ago. Still love to bake, though ( for OTHER people, LOL )! Lots of fun watching these videos, keep them coming!
Try almond bark taste better than chocolate chips
I agree! I think maybe I just used what I had on hand..
New to your channel! Thos collab was a lot of fun.🎃👾
Welcome--thanks!
What happened to adding the secret ingredient: corn flakes?
So many people have commented about this! I have never tried it with cornflakes, but I’m sure that would be tasty! The texture with just the peanut butter and candy corn is surprisingly accurate 👍🏻
I made 1/2 cup of candy corn and 1/3 cup of peanut butter and it did not make the volume you're showing.
But they did come out tasting just like butter fingers 🤌
I’m sorry I don’t know why, but I’m glad you enjoyed the taste!
@@AnnesFamilyRecipe that's ok . I watched a video on how to make bread from a person on the east coast and I wound up having to double the flour count to make it come out right. I'm in Kansas. Love your videos.
You forgot to add in the crushed corn flakes. Great video!
Wait--is that part of a recipe you've used?? I'm so intrigued! Does that add to the crunchy texture? I'll have to give that a try!
@@AnnesFamilyRecipe I watched another video and they added crushed cornflakes. You should try it. Maybe it tastes good. I wouldn't know. I've never had a Butterfinger in my life. They must be delicious. I live in Argentina and we don't have them.
The strangest ingredients ever. I wonder who ever came up with the candy corn. I’m so anxious to try it. I know lots of channels share this recipe so I believe it’s good. My first 3 picks out of the trick or treat bag is Butterfinger, Reece’s PB cups and Snickers. Love me some PB and Chocolate
So this year my kids got Reese's cups with Reese's Pieces in them! Those were MINE. haha.
Candy corn was picked because you need an invert sugar to make this sort of candy.
You forgot cornflakes for a crunch
A couple people have mentioned that! The texture is pretty spot on as is, but I bet this would give even more crunchiness--yum.
New to your channel 😊
Welcome!!
I don't have candy corn where I live😥
Oh nooo! (Some people would say you’re lucky, haha)
I honestly do not understand why anyone uses or eats creamy peanut butter. Crunchy is superior in every way
I love crunchy peanut butter! I think for authenticity though you need smooth because butterfingers don't have pieces of peanuts in them. Thanks for watching though!
@@AnnesFamilyRecipe would be less autjentic, but I think it would be an improvement. Would like to try it and see but too diabetic for that
I never would have imagined candy corn. It seems so out of place in a butterfinger.
It's WEIRD, I know. But it works!
Hi Anne, check out my Shoutout Sunday video today for Oct. 27 🥰 Hugs, Dolores
So sweet! Thank you for the unexpected and totally enthusiastic shoutout! What a nice segment!
NOT Butterfinger.
Not made like Butterfinger.
Not Butterfinger ingredients.
True, I don’t think Butterfinger actually uses candy corn to make their candy bars… But “how to make candy bars that taste almost exactly like a Butterfinger” was a bit too long of a title!
@@AnnesFamilyRecipe I like your reply. You're very nice and humorous. Impressive!!!

You're super cute.
New butterfingers suck.
TRUTH.
