Remember, Queen isn't 'him'. Queen is 'them'. the lead singer is Freddie Mercury. Fans sing along with a lot of Queen's music. But this song in particular I think people are singing TO Freddie, not with. also, look around. there are videos of the current line up and Brian plays this alone on his 12-string, with nothing but a video of Freddie, and the crowd sings right along still.
I'm a bit late to be replying, I know, but I had the wonderful opportunity to see the current lineup twice. I'm 19 and thus have never lived in the same time as Freddie. But both times when the song was played live, I've cried. It was also amazing since Brian asked the audience to bring out their phones and turn on their flashlights to create a star-like effect in the crowd. It was a powerful experience that I am forever grateful to have had.
Queen is not 1 person! Queen is the band consisting of Freddie Mercury, lead vocals and piano, John Deacon, bass guitar, Brian May, lead guitar, and Roger Taylor, drums.
YES ....................BUT the band without Freddie isnt Queen.........everybody else could be replaced...........and it still would be queen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@mauertal Eh, Freddy did try to break out on his own, and he did make wonderful songs, but in the end he realized HE needed the others, so they got back together.
Queen was created by Freddie whether you like it or not . He saw what they had to offer and he pushed them to their extreme which made them the best,! Every single person involved said Freddie made Queen ! No Queen without Freddie FACT they tried that is how they became Queen because they weren’t Queen yet

You want to see how Freddy still controls the crowd from beyond the grave, watch the Green Day crowd singing Bohemian Rhapsody in Hyde Park July 2017 video
The crowd was Freddie's favourite instrument and he played it like a master. For more of the same, check out Another One Bites The Dust live at Wembley 1986, or Under Pressure, also live from Wembley 1986. Or, for something truly special, check out Queens 20 minute set from the charity concert Live Aid in 1985. There were many top bands and artists all performing for 20 minutes each that day, but Queen stole the show. It shows Freddies true mastery of a crowd as Queen wasn't even on the bill when they sold the tickets, these are fans of other acts, yet he had them eating out of his hand, truly a joy to behold.
This is what mutual love between artist and fans looks and feels like. I can tell you there is nothing like being at a concert with legends and being a part of these epic moments, the are unique and so special.
I think you are ready for the crowd singing Queen without anyone on stage! If you look up, Green Day Crowd Sings Bohemian Rhapsody 2017, you will see 60,000 people singing Bo Rhap while Green Day is getting ready to come onstage. Great reaction!
QUEEN is not a Him. It is a They! 4 gifted musicians. All had college degrees, played multiple instruments and wrote hit songs. They were the first band to have all four members inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame! Freddie Mercury = lead singer, guitar & piano, Degree in graphic arts, designed the Queen logo using their Zodiac signs. Roger Taylor = backup & sometime lead singer on drums. Also plays guitar. Degree in Biology John Deacon = Didn’t like to sing much on bass. Also plays guitar, drums, organ. Degree in Electrical Engineering. Built the Deaky (or Deacy) amp so Brian’s guitar could make orchestral sounds Dr. Brian May = backup & lead vocals. Lead guitar. Also played piano. PhD in Astrophysics. Built his guitar “The Red Special” when he was 18 with his electrician father using parts of an old table, fireplace and stuff from his mom’s sewing kit. Roger & Brian also have separate bands of their own when not working on Queen projects. They are so much more than one man. Freddie hated being called the leader of the band. He preferred lead singer.
That was cool information. Had no idea Brian built his guitar, but he would. I didn't know how much physics went into making stringed instruments, by the way until I volunteered at a rec center and a math tutor there was teaching kids math by making can-tars. Loved reading this.
@@Hollylivengood My pleasure. My favorite book is Queen: All the songs. It explains the origins of every song and has phenomenal photos. I particularly love the back cover of Freddie posing in the iconic pose from Wembley ‘86. I have all the DVD’s available. Also, did you know that Queen didn’t own the rights to the 1981 concert in Montreal? If you go to a UA-cam site called nanonano Queen, the first 19 videos are the entire concert with Roger and Brian explaining the whole thing. Some great commentary in there as well. I was especially surprised when Brian said that even though Freddie pretended not to be good on guitar, he actually wrote Ogre Battle on the guitar, and Brian said that was a difficult song for him to play. He has his own UA-cam channel called “BrianMayCom”. He discusses the heart attack he had this summer. A few months ago, one of the guitar magazines named him the greatest of all time, based on his lifetime of work. Fan voted. Enjoy your life! Cheers.
“Queen” are a band of 4 talented musicians, not just one. Freddie Mercury is the lead singer and plays piano, Brian May on lead guitar and keyboard, Roger Taylor on drums and John Deacon on bass guitar. They all wrote songs and each one of them had hits
The mutual respect and love between Freddie and the fans is unmatched that's why they follow him. The fans also love all the members. Queen fans know that Queen always put 100% effort and energy into every single performance they did!! No one does it better than Queen. :D
Anyone who knows queen, knows their songs well enough to be conducted by Freddie. The Green Day concert was after Freddie passed. With no musician on stage, just background , the crowd sang all the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody all by themselves, gotta check it out ,it's amazing! Some even say the sky opened for Freddie!
I cannot hear this song and not tear-up. He loved Mary so much! You’ve GOT to watch the movie Bohemian Rhapsody!! It is magical and you get to see how they made the magic of their music!
In Queens latest tours with Adam Lambert as the leadsinger, they have a big screen with Freddie singing the last part. Wonderful, in the end he disapears into eternity.
Queen have some of the craziest experimental recordings in rock before they became an international hit-making brand. For their insane old music, check out "The Prophet Song", "March Of the Black Queen/Funny How Love Is", "Procession/White Queen", "Brighton Rock", "In the Lap Of the Gods", and my favorite "Ogre Battle/Fairy Feller's Masterstroke/Nevermore". And wear those headphones cuz the mixes are bonkers!
I attended 2 Queen concerts in the 80's. They are far and away still the best concerts I have ever attended. Freddie Mercury's ability to control and lead a crowd was epic. It's almost scary how much charisma he had. No one I have ever seen is as consummate a performer as he was.
I am into music for about 30 years now ... and I like and love a lot of music! Sad, but true... Queen is No 1!!! ♥ P.S.: The studio version includes a harp and a heavy-rock-part as well!!! ;-)
70,000 at Wembley Stadium in London, simulcast to 100,000 more at JFK stadium in Philly, and broadcast live to an audience of more than a billion in 130 countries. Yes, you could say it's a big audience.
You have just witnessed the masterful Freddie Mercury at his finest. Queen was a very versatile group. They could sing many different genre's of music. Yes, they were, at their core, a Rock Group but each one of them wrote songs for the group and each one brought their own musical tastes and styles to the table. You could never completely put Queen into any one specific box. Freddie Mercury could sing anything. In fact, he did. He sang Rock like no other, he sang the ballad with such power and beauty. He put the power in power ballad. He sang Opera as well. Later in his career he did an entire album with Montserrat Caballe, a famous Opera singer that he idolized. He thought she had the best voice he had ever heard and he had said that in an interview or something and she heard it and called him up and they initially did a collaberation to do a song for the upcoming 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona Spain. The song was called Barcelona and Freddie wrote it and they did record it but then Montserrat was so impressed with Freddie's voice that she wanted to do an entire album with him, which they did and called it Barcelona. There are some very good and unique songs on there if you feel adventuress enough to be open minded to a rock star and an opera star singing together. The songs are powerful and Freddie Mercury's natural Baritone voice mixed with her high soprano voice mix together magically. You get the raw power and sound of Freddie's rock voice along with her very classical voice. It is pure magic. So, if your ready to be a little open minded please react to the songs, Barcelona, How can I go On, The Golden Boy and Ensueno. these are a few of the songs Freddie and Montserrat did together. Freddie also did some songs with Michael Jackson. Yes, i said Michael Jackson. They were never officially released because they were technically unfinished but you can still here them on you tube and actually, Freddie Released it on his solo album, Mr. Bad Guy, in 1985. It is called, there must be more to life then this. It is a beautiful song and Freddie and Michael's voices are magic together. They also started a song called State of Shock. Freddie was on tour and Michael was as well and they never could find time to finish it so Michael asked Freddie if he minded if Mick Jagger from The Rolling Stones finished it with him. Freddie said that was fine but you can still here a version of it with Freddie and Michael on it and another i think with Freddie, Michael and Mick on it. You just have to look it up as Freddie and Michael version on You Tube. So, You might want to react to those songs as well. Freddie has so Many facets to him, you won't ever be bored of him or his music. His Music is as popular today as ever and maybe more so. Roger Taylor and Brian May still tour and sell out venues every time only they now tour with Adam Lambert as their front man. I Love that they are keeping Freddie's memory alive and their music and i Like Adam Lambert very much, in fact he has his own solo projects as well, but no one can take Freddie's place in the hearts of all Queen fans. But, the movie, Bohemian Rhapsody and Queen + Adam Lambert touring has opened Queen and Freddie up to a whole knew generation so i guess that is a good thing. Adam has never claimed to be another Freddie Mercury and always speaks to the audience about how much he himself loved Freddie and what a big fan he was and what an influence Freddie had on him and that he just wants to honor Freddie by helping to keep his legacy alive. He doesn't sound like Freddie either, he has his own sound and he has a beautiful voice with at least a 5 octave range to it and he is very capable to sing Queen songs. Queen songs are very hard to sing and not many can. But for me, Queen with Freddie at the helm will always be the number 1 band and The Iconic, Legendary Freddie Mercury will always be The G.O.A.T. Another song i would love to hear you react to is Who wants to Live Forever live at Wembley 1986 and You Take My Breath Away live at Hyde Park 1976 and White Queen Live from the Odean-Hammersmith 1976 please.
You do understand that Queen is the name of the entire group that consists of: Freddie Mercury - Lead Vocalist and pianist John Deacon - Bass guitarist Brian May - Lead guitarist & vocals Roger Taylor - Drummer & vocals
There is one video of a crowd singing bohemian rhapsody before a greenday concert. 65.000 people and not even the Queen band is there. As you clearly can see here people love to sing along to the songs and in that video the crowd even sings Brians quitar solo. The video is amazing to watch, please watch it and make a reaction to it!
An interesting titbit: when Queen started playing together Brian May was in graduate school studying astrophysics. When the began to have international success in 1974 May left grad school. In 2006 he re-enrolled and received his PhD in Astrophysics in 2007.
Nice reaction ,Freddy and the crowd were always amazing ,please react to one vision live at Wembley stadium great performance ,the song was based around Martin Luther king's I have a dream speech the lyrics are as relevant today as back when this song came out ,thank you ,stay safe from Liverpool UK x
Don't forget, it also goes to show how much everyone loved (and still loves) Freddie and the rest of the band. Tens of thousands of people don't just serenade any artist. Freddie had a unique love and connection with his crowd. He made every single person feel like he was singing directly to them, that he uniquely appreciated them - and he did. For more Queen, highly recommend checking out this song again but live in Rio (the crowd's even bigger and they sing almost the entire thing - despite knowing almost no English. It's *super* impressive). Also, Another One Bites the Dust live at Wembley and Fat Bottomed Girls live at the Bowl are not to be missed.
Freddie loved to involve the fans.. I was at the kind of magic tour in 1986 and it was the best ever gig I’ve been to... totally involved and swept away with the whole thing.. Queen fans know all the songs and all the words.. Love of my Life is epic live.. total involvement, it’s totally emotional and actually exhausting... you live and breathe it, a rollercoaster of a ride 👍👍
Oh god, that was overwhelming beauty! The whole album is on YouTybe . Montserrat Caballe looks like she is having really a lot of fun, while Freddie looks nervous at the adult's table. Such artists together.
Imagine how humbling it must be that all these people love your song so much that they have memorized it and they are willing to sing it with you. If you really pay attention to concert footage, they're singing along with him all of the time. And it happens with other rock bands too.
I heard u say in the beginning of the video it was like they had practiced it... the truth is, that was just the presence that Freddie Mercury had... he was phenomenal
I was at that concert in 1986 at Wembley and you did exactly what Freddie asked of you .When he asked you to sing you sang! The most charasmatic lead singer of all time!
You watched Queen's "Fat bottomed girls" a few weeks ago before you started watching their live performances, and I don't think you realized it was the same group. Also, I haven't seen you react to their We are the Champions or We Will Rock You.
I have always enjoyed listening to Queen! You should give Cher a try if you haven't already, she has a lot of good music and has been going since the mid 1960s!
The key is people were engaged. This is before cell phones. Everyone paid to go to a concert to see and interact with the band, not shoot videos of themselves. Everyone knew the words and loved to sing along with him. Freddie had amazing control of the audience every time he was on stage. Even as he was facing death, he still rallied long enough to shoot a video and say goodbye to his fans in a few more excellent videos. I would check out "Who wants to live forever" which was originally for the movie "Highlander" but took on a whole new meaning when the word got out about his battle with Aids later. It still rings as a high level vocal and video representation of the band.
Freddie wrote this from the perspective of the love of his life a woman named Mary Austin. Even though Freddie was bisexual , she truly was the life of his life. They remained very close close friends until the day he died. They were engaged at one point. But Freddie told her that she was bisexual so that ended the romantic part of their relationship but their bond grew even tighter. Freddie left her in his will his GardenLodge Mansion, His royalties and future royalties from Queen and his solo Albums and the most important , she is the only one on this earth who know where Freddie's ashes are inturned or scattered. As she was in charge of his ashes. If that is not love I dont know what is. They truly loved each other. They were there for each other no matter what.
and remember you're hearing pure Freddie, no 'autotune' here you listened to their softer side here, now listen to their Rocker, 'Shear Heart Attack' listen to their range
Gorgeous! I often think that Queen was and still are a band of wizards! Audience participation- call and response/singalong is a staple in their concerts! Their music has an eternally medicinal and magical effect on the audience and the soul! Brian May still sings this song solo in honor of Freddie and enthusiastically encourages the crowd to sing along. He'd say "don't be shy" and also encourage everyone to get out their iphone lights reminiscent of back in the day when people held lighters. Near the end, a video of Freddie from this concert appears on a screen and sings the last part. Often, Brian would be seen wiping away a tear afterword in honor of his friend and brother in arms and probably so touched that people still go nuts for Queen.
Rome, You say "it's almost like they practised this." Do me a favor, go back and watch Radio Ga Ga from Wembley again. During the chorus, watch the crowd, and how they are clapping........
As stated in previous comments, you should react to this song, live in Rio. It will really blow you away. Also Who Wants to Live Forever, and Now I'm Here, from Wembley concerts are great too.
It is so sweet to see the huge crowd singing Freddie's song back at him. I love this song. And I want to mention the guitar playing of Brian May. He is SO amazing. If you want to see HOW amazing, check out Queen's "My Bijou".
Freddie always had his audiences wrapped around his little finger. Best frontman who ever lived. It broke my heart then and still does that we lost him too soon.
Freddie loved to play the audience like an instrument. This is the first reaction of yours I've watched, but I enjoyed it and I'll be looking for others, but you'll see this when he does "Ay-Oh" call and response, or "We Will Rock You" or "Radio Gaga." His command of the stage and the crowd is what makes him the greatest performer of all time (and not only in my opinion).
yes, the singer is Freddie Mercury; the band is Queen. The massive audiences, showing their LOVE for Freddie and the song, they all know the words and he had no idea in advance! It happened all around the world. Their concert in Rio is said to have had the largest audience of ALL TIME.
His name is Freddie Mercury, the band is Queen. React to "White Queen" live at the odeon Hammersmith 1975. Their performance at "Live Aid" 1985. "Fat bottomed girls" live at the bowl 1982. "You take my breath. Away" live at Hyde Park 1976. "Who wants to live forever" live at Wembley 1986.....just a few of many great songs by Queen.

72,000 people and all Freddie Mercury had to do was raise his arms and they all sang. #Legend
Queen are one of my favourite bands (inherited from thfe rents). You've covered alot of my favs already but I really love KILLER QUEEN! CLASS SONG!
Brian still plays & sings this in concert & the crowd sings it with him, they show Freddie in that same outfit sings the last verse. 👑
Audience participation was a huge part of Queen's appeal.
*Stomp! Stomp! Clap! Stomp! Stomp! Clap! Stomp! Stomp! Clap! Stomp! Stomp! Clap!*
That's the audience doing that.
Queen is the band’s name not the singer’s.
You do understand that Queen is the name of the entire group that consists of:
Freddie Mercury - Lead Vocalist and pianist
John Deacon - Bass guitarist
Brian May - Lead guitarist & vocals
Roger Taylor - Drummer & vocals
Queen = Roger, Brian, John and Freddie
There is one video of a crowd singing bohemian rhapsody before a greenday concert. 65.000 people and not even the Queen band is there. As you clearly can see here people love to sing along to the songs and in that video the crowd even sings Brians quitar solo. The video is amazing to watch, please watch it and make a reaction to it!
Please try to remember hun, Queen is the band as a whole.
Hear Freddie fulfill his dream of singing opera and React to: Barcelona!
Oh god, that was overwhelming beauty! The whole album is on YouTybe . Montserrat Caballe looks like she is having really a lot of fun, while Freddie looks nervous at the adult's table. Such artists together.
@@Hollylivengood When they played it at the Olympics hosted in Spain, I bawled like a baby. Forever Freddie.
You need to see the whole concert, Queen Live at Wembley !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine how humbling it must be that all these people love your song so much that they have memorized it and they are willing to sing it with you. If you really pay attention to concert footage, they're singing along with him all of the time. And it happens with other rock bands too.
The old Wembley stadium London, packed to the rafters absolute LEGENDS❤️
I heard u say in the beginning of the video it was like they had practiced it... the truth is, that was just the presence that Freddie Mercury had... he was phenomenal
I was at that concert in 1986 at Wembley and you did exactly what Freddie asked of you .When he asked you to sing you sang! The most charasmatic lead singer of all time!
You watched Queen's "Fat bottomed girls" a few weeks ago before you started watching their live performances, and I don't think you realized it was the same group. Also, I haven't seen you react to their We are the Champions or We Will Rock You.
Fredy is a man's man,one of the best.
It was a great night, Freddie had a rapport with a crowd like no artist before or since, the best gig I've ever been to.
The was Qween at Live aid at Wembley stadium in in the UK! It's with out a doubt the best 21 minutes of a live performance ever!!
This wasn't live aid this was a year after from the kind of magic tour 86
Not the live aid gig... But I agree Queen's live aid stint was awesome,As was this show mate
LIsten to Queen with good headphones..they are like Pink Floyd
Also, listen to Pink Floyd
Beautiful Freddie
Check out Under Pressure at this same Wembley concert
Yes yes yes!!!! I suggested that to Rome awhile ago too!!!!
They were there for each other no matter what.
and remember you're hearing pure Freddie, no 'autotune' here
you listened to their softer side here, now listen to their Rocker, 'Shear Heart Attack' listen to their range
Freddie Mercury was incredible! The love of the audience singing the lyrics has always been a touching thing to watch...loved Queen in concert.
I discovered Queen in 1978, when I was 14. I still love the band and especially Freddie Mercury!!! Boy, that man could sing!!
Rome, You say "it's almost like they practised this." Do me a favor, go back and watch Radio Ga Ga from Wembley again. During the chorus, watch the crowd, and how they are clapping........
The greatest showman.
As stated in previous comments, you should react to this song, live in Rio. It will really blow you away. Also Who Wants to Live Forever, and Now I'm Here, from Wembley concerts are great too.
Best frontman in history, but also a great musician, song writer and all around wonderful performer, RIP Freddie Mercury
The part where the audience sings and Freddie lets them be the focus of the concert for a few seconds shows what an incredible performer he was.
Freddie was THE best performer the world has ever seen. He loved the attention and most important he loved the audience.
Freddie always had the audience in the palm of his hand! He loved it when they sang with him.
It’s just how well everyone knows the song. Iconic. Beautiful.
It is so sweet to see the huge crowd singing Freddie's song back at him. I love this song. And I want to mention the guitar playing of Brian May. He is SO amazing. If you want to see HOW amazing, check out Queen's "My Bijou".
That's the way concerts were done back then, especially with Queen. The audience always sang with the performers. GREAT TIMES!
Its the crowd singing. They know all the words. Isnt that wild! His voice is so amazing!
Talking over the song and breaking the mood…… immediately
Hey man great job breaking the big 20k that's awesome
Freddie always had his audiences wrapped around his little finger. Best frontman who ever lived. It broke my heart then and still does that we lost him too soon.
No special tuning effects. Just natural voice. Brilliant!
Wow 🥰 beautiful sweet Freddie ❤️ we still love you Freddie ❤️ now and forever ❤️
I honestly live to watch people seeing Freddie for the first time, that's my life now.
I was at one of those Wembly Concerts (night 2) and yeah those were massive (70 to 80K)
Beautiful song, Freddie was the master of the crowd
Omg! I love Freddie Mercury! He is the best singer!
Queen is IT!
All Queen fans know the words to all of their songs and we always sang along to every song they sang
Stay safe n enjoy the fun n unique voices of each famous individual. Listen to Patsy Cline, Barbara Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Donna Summer, Nana Mouskouri n more next time.
I love Nana Mouskiri. Saw her in concert. Was fantastic
dude...its a 2-way street...WE are thankful YOU have come into our lives...your reactions never cease to make me smile or laugh...and laughter and love is what we so need in this world right now!!! Stay safe and healthy
You need to watch the video of the concert crowd that sang the ENTIRE Bohemian Rhapsody- by themselves while waiting for Cold Play. It’s amazing to hear thousands of people singing every single word. Freddie was amazing - as was all of Queen!
