I had been waiting for this video for a long time. 😅
U NEED TO DO SOUTH AFRICAN BOERE VORS ROLE BUT U MUST HAVE BOERE VORS
Australian here - Aussie hotdogs are very similar to USA, what you made is classic Aussie burger toppings on a Hotdog instead.
However, my dad made hotdogs that I benchmark most hotdogs agains.
Classic ground Pork sausage (Not Ballpark, more like English Breakfast sausage)
BBQed, never boiled or pan fried (Though you could panfry them)
Sautéed Onions (On a hot-plate on the BBQ usually, so there is caramelized smoke flavored onions)
Personal choice of sauce:-
BBQ Sauce
Tomato Sauce (Ketchup)
Yellow Mustard
My mum would add chopped pickles and/or Jalapenos to hers.
In rare cases there was a regular classic ground beef "chilly" (no beans) added to the top with shredded cheese for a Chilly-Dog
Angel is a very bad food critic, but it makes him unique XD Please Angel, eat your beggies
Sweden is nothing special when it comes to what you have on since everyone is different. You should try and find "Bullens Pilsnerkorv" (it's in a small can). You put the full can (liquid and all) in a pot and just add a touch of water so it's covering the hotdogs/weinerdogs, and as soon as it is about to boil, they're done.
I still propose “I Made 100 Years of Salads” and force Angel to eat them all
Do it Guga!
i would pay $100 for this to actually happen
petition to make this happen
Oh yeah that could be cool. Imagine all the different dressings as well. Also the 'mayo' salads like potato, beetroot, peas and pasta could be things he likes.
But none of them contain any meat
You have my vote.
Australian here ---
We have this Hardware store called 'Bunnings Warehouse', I'd say it's similar to 'Home Depot'. They have a 'sausage sizzle' every Saturday and Sunday. The stalls are run by volunteers of various clubs to help raise money for their particular cause. This is iconic and everyone knows what it is. It's simply just a piece of bread with the beef sausage diagonal, mixed with caramelised onions and your choice of tomato, BBQ, or mustard for sauce. Many people just go to the hardware store to get a "Bunnings Snag" and to help out a good cause.
Hope this helped.
Aussie here too! Yup, can't go past a Bunnings on the weekend without a Snag! Have to admit though, very interesting thing Guga did here, this Greg guy took what's essentially a traditional takeaway Burger-With-The-Lot in a Hot Dog. Cool concept, but definitely not traditional in this iteration!
@@HeathenScentsagreed 💯
Yes a square piece of break with the dog diagonal is what my school served LOL
It seems your memory and mine are about the same, though my hot-dogs where more like breakfast sausages rather than beef. I can't recall any ever having beef version.
But one thing seems pretty constant caramelized onions.
The sausage sizzle was a regular fund raising activity at my primary school (and probably many others). It’s the first thing that comes up when you search google for “Australian hotdog”. I love you Guga but I’m massively disappointed by your lack of research on this one.
It's not the weekend unless you've had a snag in bread from Bunnings.
Australian here -
A lot of people I see have already talked about the Bunnings snag/sausage sizzle. What Guga made is honestly more of an over engineered Aussie burger. Corner shops, cafes and fish'n'chips shops traditionally sold a burger that was a white bread bun of some sort with beef patty, slices of beetroot, egg and tomato with cheese. In my experience bacon isn't always there but very common and sometimes a ring of pineapple for example. Honestly a great crack at an Aussie hotdog but there just isn't one really.
Bang on 👌
Australia:
its really easy.
1. get a flat piece of sanwitch bread
2. get a frankfurt sausage and grill it
3. caramelize some onions on the same grill as the sausage
4. put the sausage on the bread diagonally and fold the bread
5. on the top add the onions and drizzle some tomato sauce on top
In Australia we call it a "sausage sizzle"
Aussie here, we don't really have an "authentic Aussie hotdog", we mostly just copy other countries if we want a hotdog. BUT what we do have that is authentically Aussie is a "sausage sizzle": take a thin beef sausage and fry it on a grill with some onion pieces the onion should be cooked dark, almost burned, same for the sausage. To serve, take a slice of buttered white bread, place the sausage diagonally on the bread, top with onions, tomato sauce (ketchup) and American mustard (optional).
That's the aussie way mate 👍
Love a good snag
Exactly what was going to say. That’s my thinking we needed an Aussie style hot dog.
The video version seemed to adapt how we have a hamburger with the beetroot and egg etc
Bunnings snags are too good.
White/Yellow/Brown onions thinly sliced with a good squirt of Tomato Sauce when cooking to help the caramalisation process. But this all needs to be cooked on a cast iron surface and served in the most plain piece of white bread you can buy.
German here:
When we have Hot Dogs in Germany, we either have standard American Style Hot Dogs with Wieners or the really, really, and I mean really crappy ones from IKEA.
If you want a really "German Hot Dog" you need an original Thuringian Sausage, which absolutely has to be grilled over charcoal and put it into a german style bread roll with some Bautzner Senf (mild mustard). Also it is absolutely mandatory to eat it either at a motorway station by the Autobahn or in front of a Baumarkt (Hardware store)
Exactly my thoughts.
Röstzwiebeln und Senfgurken (nicht wie Relish) fehlen dennoch
Oy, don't you disrespect my boy IKEA. 1 euro for a hotdog with as much pickles, fried onions and godly mayonnaise as you want. My frugal Dutch body won't stand for this slander!
I never had a hotdog in Germany, but the curry wurst was absolutely delicious, had many of them!
I agree with you, wrong mustard, wrong bread and the sausage looked wrong too. A good Thuringian Sausage has a really unique taste
Leberkässemmeln(KaiserSemmel) mit Süßem Senf
chilean hot dog: tomato, sausage, avocado and mayo. we call it “completo italiano” because the colors of the ingredients make the italian flag!!!
Just adding my voice to the many other Aussies here... the Bunnings sausage sizzle, aka a "bunnings snag"... it's super basic, but we love it.
A "sausage sizzle" is a community barbeque event, usually done as a fund raiser for schools or other community groups. Bunnings didn't invent it, it's just the most common, taking place every weekend and they raise money for local community groups and charities. The store supplies the equipment for free because it brings in lots of customers.
As a Pole I would also add a good amount of fried, caramelized onion!
also cabbage
Correct!!
And maybe add some sauerkraut.
@@dananichols349 bro if you call it sauerkraut you are not from Poland you goofball
That's exactly what I was going to say, Need some caramelized onions and sauerkraut to really be a polish dog.
@@RevSemadeni That was my Dad's favorite hot dog toppings.
Wow you actually made my hot dog 🤣 Cheers 🍻
I believe in Australia they have Sausage Sizzle also known as a "Snag" .
Its very simple, sauteed chopped white onion, the sausage on a square white bread folded.
You may want to reconsider this. In Australia, we have something called "snags with onion and sauce," which can sometimes include mustard if desired. It's a simple dish that you can find at almost any BBQ throughout the country. I've personally eaten hundreds of them, and every Australian knows about the "Bunnings Snag." It consists of a slice of white bread, a basic BBQ sausage, onion, tomato sauce, and mustard. You can enjoy it at our top hardware stores.
Chilean 🇨🇱 hotdog: bun, sausage, cubed tomato, avocado and mayonnaise. Quite simple but emblematic here in Chile, we call it ‘italiano’ cause the ingredients have the colors of the Italian flag. You can ask Profesor Klocker for details.
This hot dog tastes amazing! When I visited Chile 12 years ago I was still wet behind the ears and I ate this hot dog. It was the first bite of Avocado in my life.
Don't you mean...tocomple? Also
Wena shoro
When I visited Chile I had to Google wtf is Palta kkkkk
Completooooooo
Si no hizo italiano no cuenta
South African - Boerie Roll. There are proper boeries and budget boeries. A budget boerie consists of hotdog buns, boerewors, tomato sauce (ketchup) and maybe a squirt of mustard. A proper boerie has delicious homemade tomato smoor instead of store-bought sauces on it with sauteed onions.
oh hells yeah! a south african Boerewors Roll is on a next level when it comes to "Hot Dogs" Guga you can really have some fun if you go for the full "Boerie roll" ( " Booree Roll " ) instead of the budget version
You need to spell out boerewors roll or he'll never find a recipe.
@@bradlawson5091Besides the home made thing tomato sauce even Checkers or Pick 'n Pay gives onions. I prefer sweet chili sauce, wellingtons or nando's.
@@wilberdebeer4696 For me it's wellingtons Tomato Sauce and Mustard, and Wors is definitely at it's best when you braai it.
And the bonus is... You get to cook it on the braai (BBQ)!!! And, any sauce goes... Mrs Balls chutney is one of my faves!! 👍
Hey Guga, I am Aussie. I remember when I was younger. Eating a hotdog the lot, from a diner at the oak milk factory in Newcastle. It had grilled hotdog, bacon strips, fried egg, cheddar cheese, fried onion and bbq sauce. I do not see these anywhere anymore. As the oak factory closed many years ago. Ahhhh memories😊
You can't go wrong with the Venezuelan hot dog, you can also add some onions but it is optional
You did great Guga, also a really good advice is to season the water of the sausages with onion and garlic powder and use the steam to heat the buns...
Danish hotdog:
Toasted bread
Grilled sausage (sometimes with a bacon wrap)
Ketchup, Remoulade, mustard
Raw chopped onions
Roasted onions
Pickles
Its amazing. Keep up the good work Guga! Would also recommend the Swedish traditional hotdog. Not an expert on the ingredients, but definitely something to try!
Danish hotdogs are as iconic to Copenhagen as dirty water dogs are to NYC. My guess is Guga has no access to the red skinned polsers.
@@conchobar red skinned sausage aren't usually used for a Danish hotdog, not that many danes eat them -a dane
It is both sweet and strong Danish mustard, the sausage is made from pork, the ketchup is something called hotdog ketchup.
Would recommend watching youtube videos of Danish hotdog stands making a roasted hotdog and the hotdog with the red pork sausage.
it's not really roasted onions, its crispy fried onions
There are some key things to the Danish hotdog, that is not descibed in this. Taking from the top of the list here:
Grilled sausage. It has to be the sausages in Denmark, which is not the same as the american sausage.
Ketchup. It has to be, what in danish is called hotdog ketchup. The key ingredient in the ketchup, is that it actually has pieces of apples, which gives it a completely different taste, compared to the Heinz ketchup.
Mustard also has to be the right thing, and is not Dijon. Sometimes there can be added two different mustards, one of them being the sweet mustard.
It does not have pickles on it, but instead, what in Danish is called "syltede agurker". Recipes can be found on this. Pickels would add a flavour that is not correct to a Danish hotdog.
chilean completo italiano! Avocado, mayo, and chopped raw tomato. one of the best combinations ever.
I payed Chile a visit this past year and I was expecting better food than completos lol
And the "Chucrut"
@@maxtrix1 hard pass
Tomato is under the avocado tho
turkish here
9:45 that is the first time i've seen someone make a hotdog like this, especially in turkey. if you want turkish version of hotdog recipes you could search for "patso" or "goralı" since these are more popular here. yes, some people make hotdogs with tomato paste but it's not really the same as what you have made. also turkish people typically do not use jalapenos
I've been waiting for part 2 😊
Points for Polish kielbasa! But a few years ago somebody in Poland came up with czosndog (garlic dog?). You make a hot dog using a store bought garlic baguette as a bun. Just put whatever you fancy and then put it in the over for a few minutes. It became one of my favourite comfort foods :)
Interesting. Thank you for sharing
This would be so hilarious if this trend leaves our country, for sure worth trying!
It's so good
bro you're genius, I'm going to Biedronka xD
Czosndog is more Polish than the one with sausage. You can probably buy some with sausage in Poland, but it's mainly an invention from the USA, which only came to us later and should have well-fried onion and pickled cucumbers
8:13 didn’t think you would differentiate our Venezuelan hotdog from the Colombian hotdog and it makes me so proud that you have! 🇻🇪 We are known for empanadas and many Colombians have hotdog locations here in US but not many Venezuelan have hotdog only locations. They are usually just dishes on a general Venezuelan menu. But if you go to Venezuela or meet a Venezuelan you know our hotdogs are unique!
I think a chicago style dog deserves a spot in episode 3 as its absolutely iconic.
I watch this and for me the boerewors roll just ticks the blocks. Its got the solid meat flavour, the sauce doesn't drown it out. Its simple and just works whether you throw on tomato sauce or a tomato and onion relish. Also, it tasted great hot or cold. Leftover boerie roll is still on the menu.
I love these longer videos like “around the word” or “100 years”
Aussie here, That "hotdog" looks more familiar to our "Hambuger with the lot" it's missing pinapple, but on a hotdog, we just keep it simple similar to the tomato sauce/mustard. We also have a "sausage sandwich" which I guess could be perceived more like a hotdog in the current settings, which is super simple, bread slices your choice of sauce (tomato/bbq or mustard normally, or all 3. Our BBQ is mostly sweet from masterfoods) and caramelized onions
I may try that, also greetings from the state of Tennessee!
Agreed. As a burger those are my go to toppings, but a sausage sanga? Onion, and if I'm feeling fancy, diced bacon and cheese.
Bunnings snag is all i have to say
The other Australians are right about the sausage sizzle being the authentic sausage in a bread cradle hot dog thing we have.
If it needs to have a hot dog in it to qualify, there’s something called a smokey dog that you can get at bakeries. It’s a hot dog with bacon, cheese and caramelised onion, wrapped in puff pastry and baked until the pastry is flaky, crispy and golden brown. Beats out the sausage roll!
Love these videos so much.
The Australian aka Kiwi hotdogs, you kindly made, is actually a traditional burger. Our hotdogs are just caramelized onions, sausage, tomato sauce, mustard in a slice of plain white bread. Usually outside Bunnings on the weekend.. It's called a Sausage Sizzle. Ain't fancy. But its awesome.🥰😘
part 3 you need to try sweden
a good pork sausage
shrimp salad (räksallad)
roasted onions (rostad lök )
and dill pickles
love your vids , keep it up
Despite what we say, we love you Sweden. But shrimp salad on hotdogs are an abomination.
-Denmark
There are two things all Swedish people always go to Denmark for. Beer, and hot dogs. So maybe you should recommend the one most Swedish actually prefer ;)
i know hotdogs only because of ikea...thx,sweden ^^
@@Theis_Ejsingas a swede, I have never heard of this and it sounds disgusting
its crispy fried onions, not roasted.
In Morocco we have mergaz with chopped and grilled onions and tomatoes in a griddle we use Moroccan traditional bread but you can use a french baguette and for the sauce only some harissa inside the bread
Hi Guga, since a couple months ago i've been absolutely hooked on your videos, although it's love/hate since they make me so hungry all the time : D
I thought that you might wanna try a Dutch variant on hotdogs called 'Broodje Unox'. It's pretty simple as it usually consists of just a hollowed out baguette or even a sliced open pistolette, Dutch Rookworst and a special sauce. As far as i'm aware the recipe is publicly available and i'd highly recommend it!
Love your videos, looking forward to the next one!
Aussie hotdog would be a Bunnings sausage sizzle, it's like a normal funfair/sports event snag with caramelised onions and a generic raw beef brat type sausage fried up. But you use sliced sandwich bread instead of a bun.
German here and the Hot dog.. well yes, we either use "Wieners" or Bratwurst with Our hotdogs. But the mustard.. actually for the most part we have that one certain mustard brand you need which is "Bautzner Senf mittelscharf"
I have never seen a hotdog with any other mustard commonly used^^
That for the simple one. Ofcourse we also like to add cheese and/or fried (the dry ones) or fresh onions to hdogs and maybe some pickles^^
Also swap the ketchup with seasoned ketchup or Curryketchup

Norway have a couple of interresting takes on the hot dog. The traditional dog in its simplest form, is a boiled vienna sausage with ketchup, wrapped in a "lompe". I guess you could describe the lompe as a soft potato tortilla. Some ppl top the sausage with shrimp salad. Other toppings like mustard, fried- or raw onions or potato salad are also used. Another take is the same vienna sausage, with some simple toppings, wrapped in a sweet waffle. It must be a traditional, soft, Norwegian waffle. Some say the "pølse i vaffel" first was served with waffle, sausage, ketchup and strawberry jam.
He has to make pølse i vaffel, it's too damn funny
thanks for all the tips on how to grill.
BRO!!!! German's DO NOT put ketchup on bratwurst!!!! And where is the sauerkraut!?!
Maybe Germans should try it sometime
I was wondering the same thing
They do on Currywurst. It's technically not ketchup but it's a sauce with a Ketchup Base.
…also eure Kommentare….
you need to try south african boerewors roll
Second this
With onions and Mrs balls Chutney 😂
Yes boii, and then pap, vleis, and chakalaka in another video🤤

Greg’s Kitchen is absolutely cooked no Aussie eats what ever that was supposed to be
Mexican style hotdog is bacon wrapped with mayo mustard and ketchup topped with tomato onion and pickled jalapeño with grilled onions and jalapeños on the side. You can also make an LA style hotdog which is very similar
It's a sign! Got in mood for hotdogs randomly I need to make some after seeing this video. My favorite is chicago style!
that aussie hotdog was perfect - it was the classic aussie works burger but as a hotdog
Happy to see part 2! I still think this series begs for the Swedish "Tunnbrödsrulle". That thing is nuts if you add all the classic toppings. Particularily the "Shrimp sallad"(might be difficult to get in the US but the base is usually shrimp, mayo, dijon & crème fraîche(sour cream)) and mashed potatoes.
I'm from Poland and I have never seen hot dog like this in my country. It's usually a normal roll, a hot dog or kabanos sausage, and the additions are pickles (or cucumber), tomato, canned corn, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard (not everyone likes it) and most importantly - crispy, roasted onion.
In the US (west coast anyways) we call our alternate (#2 but still totally common) standard hotdog... a sausage hotdog with sourkrout (full thing, with the bun)... a "Polish [hot]dog"
Canned corn? Are we living in same country?
@@michalmarchwicki4785 I can confirm that one county south, the Czech Republic, there is such a wild use of corn. It's their most common pizza topping 😳😬😬
@@ianokay sure, canned corn on pizza is actually common on pizza, there is always one pizza in menu with canned corn, but hot dog? Never
I just remember that when we ate food from stands at train stations, they put various products into hot dogs. And I really liked the corn, although the roasted onion was more important and tastier.
I would love to a Persian hot dog, it is a traditional Persian street food, Sosis Bandari, on a hotdog bun, doesn't matter what type, it is basically a chopped glizzy
while that uassie hotdog you showed is great, our vesion of the hot dog is a bunnings snag or sausage sizzle depending how you grew up, you take a piece of white bread place the sausage diagonally on it then some panfried onion then any sause you want
After watching both hot dog videos, you NEED to cover all of the many American variations. The Chicago style, the Coney, the chili dog, and all of the others. They're all so different, but all so good.
I wonder which hot dog you would do from Brazil, Guga. I mean, in São Paulo the hot dogs are almost a meal, with mashed potatoes and all the fillins. Cant wait for the next "hot dogs in the world" episode! Keep up with the great work!
Mashed potatoes you say.. Tell me more 😊😋
Neste estilo é melhor no pão francês.
Guga IS Brazilian he knows lol
@@polopig2611 I know he knows, but because Brazil is such a big country, there are many different ways of doing hot dogs because of all different regions. São Paulo's might be the most interesting one! =)
This video brought back fond memories of Reindeer dogs from Alaska. Unfortunately I can't get them where i am now, but when i had them, i did Sautéed onions, some mayo, reindeer sausage split down middle, spread by that thin edge from the curved side. Grill them on both sides until a deep red color occurs, top with the onion and Mayo and it was so good!
Best thing about Reindeer Sausage is that there isn't any meal it doesn't go well with. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Midnight snack! It is all good!
I used to order the polish sausage with huge chunk of cheese on the side. And I don't know if this is traditional but the condiments were always the big 3. Ketchup, mayo & mustard (dijon). That's how they prepared it here and it's good that way for me.
Hotdogs aren't a big thing in Australia. We do more of a sausage sizzle - which is a grilled sausage in a slice of untoasted white sandwich bread, usually with some caramlised grilled onions, and then either ketchup or bbq sauce (up to the customer to pick).
The old "democracy sausage" is a mainstay of Austrailian cuisine. =)
Bunnings snag mate haha
Yeah, that's just a basic sausage in the US. Nothing to write home about.
Australian Tomato Sauce instead ketchup and you're spot on.
@@jacenjustice he just explained we dont really do hotdogs guru...its more of a kid's party food here. Cheese, tommy and onion optional. The build that guy did is the aussie burger with the lot. Which is a burger patty with those ingredients.

I agree, Hotdog Here in Germany basically never has mustard seed and its either Just Ketchup or the real Deal with all of the Standard toppings + Fried onion. Also people would complain about These Short sausages that arent even Made from real sausage casing
dude you got to get around more street food in germany has gone viral
It lack onion tho..
Yeah polish hot dog is just kiełbasa between 2 piecec of bread

In Australia we have tradiontionally a "sausage sizzle" which are sausages cooked on a flat top and caramalised onions placed diagonally across a slice of sandwhich bread, options of sauce are tomato sauce, mustard or heinz BBQ sauce.
This is also known nationally as a "Bunnings Hotdog" which is a hardware store and oh so much more that sells sausage sizzles on the weekend.
If you keep this series going, I would love to see you tackle one of the hotdogs we have here in Sweden, like a Tunnbrödsrulle, which is a soft flatbread wrap filled with mashed potatoes, two thin and long hotdogs, shrimp salad and regular salad and veggies, topped with ketchup, or the Helspecial or Halvspecial (Whole special or half special). Regular hot dog bun, big thick hotdogs, if it's a whole there's 2 and if it's a half it's only one. Then ketchup and mustard, mashed potatoes; typically a shrimp salad and something we call Bostongurka (Boston cucumber) which is a relish made of gerkin, red bell pepper, onion and spices.
Guga you gotta try the South African Boerewors rolls, its basically a thick beef sausage with spices in it. Typically served with onions on a bun, and your choice of sauces. that would be the basic version but you can essentially top it off with any other garnishing to your preference. There can be an art to cooking the boerewors though, if you burn/burst the sausage then it dries up too much, but a perfect Wors Roll is just perfect 😍
Montreal, Canada has its own style of hotdog called a steamie. It's simple, but danged tasty. It served "all dressed" which has a specific meaning for hot dogs. All dressed also has different specific meanings for hamburgers and pizza.
For an all dressed Montreal hotdog steam a hotdog and roll. The dog should be plump and the roll soft, but not soggy. Top it lightly with relish, yellow mustard, finely chopped raw onion, and coleslaw. Best served with some greasy fries or a poutin.
Since moving to Western Canada I miss going for a quick lunch of a couple of steamies, fries, and coke.
4 steamies and a poutine always the lunch motive when I’m in Quebec for work
Australian here. Firstly, the ingredients from that last hot dog is used for a burger not a hot dog. It's too loaded. Secondly we have the most simplest version which is the "Bunnings snag". Piece of bread, bbqed with half cut onions caramenised and a choice of bbq, tomato or mustard sauce. That's it.
Need to do Portugal one, we have diferrent ones depending on the region but the best must be the "Cachorro Especial com Molho de Francesinha" its a combination of cheese, ham and the sausage with a special sauce
From Australia Sausage sizzle from Bunnings Warehouse every Saturday and Sunday!
Simple but extremely tasty 😍
Hey @gugafoods regarding the Venezuelan hotdog, just one issue with the cheese, Gouda cheese is very expensive, we use in Caracas a very fine grated matured cheese, and in Maracaibo, we use handmade cheese, which it is a cooked cheese, formed by hand. And cheese is important. Grated potatoes, that's accurate, needed to thank you for that, because we love it. Loved the video, thank you!
South African Boerewors rolls.
Boerewors with caramelized onions, sweet relish, mustard and tamato sauce (ketchup). Usually the buns are not toasted, because you want the rendered fat of the Boerewors to soak into the bun.
We eat this EVERYWHERE.
UA-cam now has a lot of recipes for making your own Boerewors, but remember the main ingredient: coriander
Nobody in Germany eats Bratwurst in a Hot Dog Bun 🫠
Hab das auch noch nie gesehen. Wenn dann in ein Brötchen.
Always assumed it was an Americanized thing.
you should totally do some sort of Norwegian dish sometime
I'm from Australia, our "traditional" hotdog is bacon, fried onion and cheese with whatever sausage you want, and tomato sauce (Ketchup) and mustard.
Or, what we call "Sausage Sizzle". Sausage in bread with fried onions and whatever sauce(s) you want. Bought from Bunnings on a Sunday morning.
Finnish take on Hot Dog:
Kuuma koira means “hot dog” in Finnish, but this is very different cuisine than the traditional hot dog. The sugary jelly doughnut combined with the salty, meaty steamed sausage makes it a unique treat. Nowadays, the apple jelly doughnuts from the original recipe are usually replaced with plain, sugar-dusted doughnuts, with the addition of some chopped onions, pickle relish, mustard and ketchup. The dog is best enjoyed straight from its paper wrapper and washed down with milk.
The Irish breakfast roll completely qualifies for episode 3. Bread (baguette style), butter, sausage, bacon, egg and hashbrowns... some people make it different though

Hello... Australia here....if you swapped the hot dog bun and sausage for a burger bun and a ground meat patty...you'd be spot on! No one would ever eat a hot dog like you did!
Sausage, slice of bread and tomato sauce and optional fried onions is the go to down here...
The ketchup on every dog broke my heart lol and mayo...
For australia, we have this warehouse store called bunnings, and they usually sell hot dogs there for some reason. I haven't been there in a very long time, but I think their hot dogs are really simple with just cooked onions and barbecue sauce on top of the bread and sausage. Could be wrong though, I pretty much forgot what it was like.
That's about right
No vi el completo chileno...plw guga...
Guga, an Iconic Australian “hotdog” widely known here is the “Bunnings Snag.” It’s usually a beef sausage between a singular sandwich bread slice with caramelised onion, with bbq, tomato sauce, and mustard bottles on the side. It’s called a Bunnings snag one because of the massive sausage sizzle culture here, snag being the slang for sausage, and two because of the hardware store Bunnings (similar to Home Depot in America) will regularly sell a sausage sizzle outside the main entrance of their buildings hence the name “Bunnings Snag”.
Australian Hotdog (Sausage Sizzle) Beef sausage, Brown onion, Cheese, Hot Mustard, Ketchup and Barbeque sauce. With a slice of bread. Spread butter on piece of bread. Cook sausage and onion in frying pan, once cooked add the sausage and cooked onion then sauce. After that lastly add the cheese on top. (Sausage goes on piece of bread either straight or diagonal)
The german Hotdog is not quite right.
i mean there are diffrent types but what you seem to reffer to is a Bratwurst in Bun. You usually use a Kaiserroll for it and a pre coocked, fine blend Bratwurst.
But however you can also use a more rustical, coarse one.
now the sauces.... Ketchup is fine! However you want a spicy or mild german Mustard, wich is smooth in texture, nothing with seeds :)
However me as a german i would love to try the one u created!!
how about the KETTWURST!!!! :P thats the real deal!
Lange Rote in a bun is where it's at. (Kinda regional though)
Yeah i was gonna say, the only bratwurst i know is the white, rather big, smoothly blended one lol
But its no wonder that theres many variations when the name is simply "bratwurst", it literally translates to fry-sausage or sear-sausage
Guga the goat 🐐
so real
For next episode, try a swedish hot dog. Its called Tunnbrödsrulle (Thinbread roll). It consists of Thin bread, mashed potatoes, 2 hot dogs (of your choosing, usually a standard boiled or grilled hot dog), onion, roasted onion, iceberg lettuce, bostongurka (relish with pickled gherkins, red bell pepper and onion with spices such as mustard seeds), some mustard and some ketchup.
Australian here an authentic hotdog from here would be a Bunnings snag you get sausages from woolies (Woolworths) cook them on top of some white onion little bit of cheese with condiments of your choice but the only right answer is tomato sauce with mustard you can also have bacon on it gives it more flavour I do. love the videos Guga you've taught me so much
Heyy lol i luv ur vids u slay guga
Gay nah I'm playing guga slays
Guuugaaaaa let me come and show you how to BRAAI. (The South African way to cook meat directly on the coals.
Aussie here - this is an overwhelming version of a breakfast hotdog. Bacon, egg, caramelised onion, sausage and your favourite sauce(s) is all you need.
I love that you shouted out Greg's Kitchen. He has a lot of awesome food creations. I love the take on an Aussie hot dog
For the Aussie hotdog, it would be just a frank, bacon and a runny egg. Also the egg yolk would be used as the sauce and spread along the hotdog.
Also as others have mentioned AUS/UK/NZ have "sausage sizzles" that are just a beef / pork sausage in a slice of bread with caramelized onion / mushrooms and whatever sauce you want.
Need to do a British hot dog.
Uncured, coarse ground pork sausage, served with a blackened exterior, rare interior, grilled/BBQ'd while it drizzles rain. Butter and brown sauce.
Yes
Edit: I just saw raw interior, wtf is wrong with you
As a Saffa, I once cooked proper butcher's pork sausages for my English mates to what I would call perfection. No, the skin has to be burnt black 🤣
Pork sausage with a rare interior? 😮🤮
Aw yeah the NJ Italian hotdog is my jam… can’t go wrong
Giga tried to please every nation with this video, but ended up pissing a lot of nations off😂
Australian here : our national hotdog is a Bunnings sausage sizzle. Bunnings is our biggest hardware store and there's always a tent setup outside with a sausage sizzle, usually for charities or fundraisers (scouts, kids athletics etc). It's got the same cult following as Costco hotdogs in America and commonly joked that the only reason we go to the hardware shop is a $2.50 Bunnings "snag" aka sausage.
Very simple : BBQ cheap sausage, cheap white soft sandwhich bread, grilled sliced onion, served with your choice of BBQ sauce or tomato (ketchup). Simple, delicious, cultural classic.
"If youve ever been to New Jersey youre familiar with Jimmy Buffs."
Uhhh... lived here 26 years and never heard of it 😂
Wife’s from NJ and she’s never heard of it either.
I live in western Pennsylvania, by Pittsburgh and I have. lol.
29 from CENTRAL jersey never heard of it either 😂😂
they're a Northern NJ staple that I grew up on. My family members who left NJ always make it their business to stop at Jimmy Buffs to take back home.
In Australia we have two hot dog's, the "Sausage sizzle" and the Dagwood dog from the Easter show: a Frankfurt sausage covered in a cornflower batter with a kebab stick up the middle which is then deep fried.
'If a hotdog like this takes me out'. 😂😂
Ok as someone who lives in Sonora, the only thing Sonoran about that hotdog 🌭 was the bacon wrapped hotdog! A Sonora dog usually is served on a bolillo-style hot dog bun, and topped with pinto beans, white caramelized onions (not red), tomatoes, mayonnaise on top in small lines side to side, same with the mustard, and jalapeño salsa. Then you can put extras at the condiment bar! Like pico de gallo, shreded cheder cheese, cotija cheese, different salsas, guacamole. The bacon wrapped jalapeño is extra and would go on the side. With it usually you get a fried chili guero! What it doesn't have is lettuce, pickles, canned jalapeños, red raw onions, chorizo, or bacon wrapped jalapeño in it! I don't know what style of hotdog that was, but it sure wasn't Sonoran!
Agreed! I grew up in Tucson and am so close to Mexico that I've spent a lot of time there. I had never been to a cart that offered the caramelized onions. Sound delicious. In Tucson, it's mostly pickled red onions on the side.
@@Nailenthusiast1981 Yep I also live in Tucson and I had the same criticism of the video. The only part I disagree on is the caramelized onions, ours if I recall primarily had diced raw onion, which I prefer. Don't need the sweetness or texture of cooked onion in the Sonoran dog.
They pretty much all had mayo and mustard, tomato and onion (or a pico), CREMA and a green salsa that was ideally avocado and green tomato based, with cilantro, the pinto beans, shredded cheese, and some kind of medium sized spicy yellow/yellow-green pepper. And you can certainly use red onion, no difference really but the looks.
It's been about a decade since I lived there (I grew up there til I was 25), but I went to every sonoran hot dog cart/stand there was, plus el guero canelo. There were only slight differences between them, the format was quite consistent, because it is perfect. Best hot dog on earth, no contest!
@@Artcore103I've been eating them since the late 80's and even then they usually featured grilled onions. And I'm not talking about Tucson, Arizona, I ate them in Hermosillo, Sonora where they actually started.
@@m.b.8446 cool. I don't know what regions our Mexicans are from in Arizona or California who started the trend in America, but I'm interested in the version they make here.
@@Artcore103 Not sure how they were started in California, but at least in Arizona the Sonoran hot dog concept came from actual Sonorans. I don't know if there is any news story about BK and when they started selling Sonoran hot dogs, but there is for El Güero Canelo. They started in 1993, and while I'm not sure if the recipe is still the same their current one is online: "Bacon wrapped frank, beans, grilled & fresh onion, tomato, mayo, mustard & jalapeno sauce." BK meanwhile has this on their site: "Topped with whole pinto beans, grilled and fresh onions, fresh diced tomato, decorated with mayonnaise and a dash of mustard; finished with our secret jalapeño sauce with a side of a plump, tasty, grilled yellow pepper."
Sinaloa Dog All Day 🇲🇽
"I just wish I had a Beer right now; that would go perfectly with this Dog right now." German food at it's finest 😂
I wanna try the Poland and the Turkish ones !!. And as Venezuelan, few details there but yeah, close enough for our hotdog. We prioritize the sauces over the basic elements of the hotdog. AND we like it full of stuff. In some regions we use french fries instead of potato chips. And we usually use a cheese called "queso de año", which is like a parmesan kind of cheese but not as cured. For additional sauces you can use corn sauce and bacon sauce.
Love your unique style, never change!
Guga completing side quests now 😂
Let's just stop with this meta comment. This doesn't even apply. This is part two of a series he's already started. He has three channels in total. He does a crap ton with food. When he starts reviewing tech products, then you can leave that comment.
Went to uni in Australia. I'd say what they call a "sausage sizzle" is the most common form of hot dog you'd get there. A grilled beef sausage with fried onions between a slice of bread topped with your sauce of choice (bbq sauce is my personal favourite). Simple but satisfying
Australian here:
We commonly go fairly similar to the American hot dog.
But what we are famour for is called a "Sausage sizzle". You take a slice of ordinary white bread, fry up a beef sausage then slap on some bbq'd onion and some "dead horse" aka tomato sauce.
