After watching the Derya Arms DY9 segments, I was so impressed with the quality that I searched their website for hammer fired handguns. As soon as I saw the Melik M9, I was smitten. Bought mine 29 AUG for $287.00 before FFL and shipping. At the range it took everything (FMJ, HP, 115gr-147gr) flawlessly. It's every bit as well made as my Girsan MC1484G. Your reviews carry a lot of weight with me, soldier 👍👍👍.
The video with the dremeled Melik you’re referring to is mine. It’s definitely not just coating missing. There are visible striations from grinding and the edges are clearly crooked. There certainly are many happy customers as well, but they clearly let a very sketchy pistol leave their factory, too.
Thanks for clarifying. One of our Patrons has a black one and he said the inside is all black which confirms what you're saying. Have you contacted customer service? My experiences with RIA customer service have not been great, but maybe Derya USA has different staff and policies.
@@GBGuns I have indeed contacted them. They weren’t extremely fast/responsive initially but based on the photos I sent ultimately did agree to take it back. They said to expect a 4-6 week turnaround time so I’m just waiting.
@@hobofactory Ooof, that is a long time, but makes sense for an early import. If we were five years into these pistols being on the market I'd expect quicker, but right now I bet everything coming in has been presold through distribution.
@@GBGuns No, thank you. Contents like this makes me happy coz right now I'm not yet capable of owning a gun and reviews like this help me choose my future gun. I've tried a m92 style gun before, I believe it was a taurus and man I love it more than a 1911
Great video as always. I notice that this gun has the enlarged hammer pin of the 92fs. This is the first time I have seen that on a clone. The enlarged hammer pin and corresponding channel in the slide were added by Beretta to prevent the slide from flying back at the shooters face if the slide fails. That modification is the "s" in 92fs.
Thank you for adding that detail. Although I trained a lot with the M9 and was an armorer, that doesn't mean I knew the lineage. I was hoping someone from the audience could contribute more details like this.
Nice table top. That pistol shop in the 2 tone with the wooden grips. I opted for the classic look on the 2 that I purchased. It literally in all ways except for the roll marks is a Beretta.
Thank you for sharing this interesting video of yours.very nice looking pistol . The original Beretta 92 seems to be loved or hated by many. Looks like a good pistol for those interested in saving some money by purchasing a Beretta 92 clone. Thanks for your service. Have a great weekend 😎🙏
Looks like it has the modified hammer pivot pin and groove in the slide of the 92FS model. Also looks like it has the later modified locking block too. The Girsan regard does not. The Girsan/Beretta blocks and slides are not interchangeable; looks like these might be.
I haven't had opportunity to shoot this gun but I have been able to look at it up close and inspect it and I did not find the quality issues the other youtiber claimed and it was definitely not a trash class firearm. What I was able to see and feel was a excellent made firearm. No it wasn't a 1000 dollar quality firearm, but fkr the price, it's quality and its workmanship far exceeded fhe price and did so by a longshot! Can't wait to fire this firearm and honestly, I will probably own it very soon . Thank you for this trusted review!
I understand that the locking block cracking issues were due to the US Military using the wrong ammunition (according to Chris over at Small Arms Solutions).
I like that it appears that the angle of the “dust cover” (hate that term on pistols) is not as extreme as the 92fs. It’s like they knew that it ruined the lines of the gun when beretta made that change
That is a good looking pistol,,too bad it only comes with 1 mag.The 92 design usually works well these days but I'm going to wait & see if any common problems crop up before I get one.
I’ve been impressed with derya products lately. Usually skeptical of Turkish guns (or at least the q/c on what’s imported). Between the Glock gen 3 clones and the Ar shotguns, they look like they have good quality at a great price. I’d love to see someone discuss the 12 ga derya’s. Maybe do a 500 rd burn down on one.
I'm not sure which color options actually exist. For example this color combo should have the naming marks in silver and more of a polish on the black according to the product photos.
Bought the DY9 after your videos it’s a fantastic Glock clone, great shooter, sights are great, and ergos really nice. As you being former Army very much used to the Beretta 92 design, looks like a nice clone. Waiting on your range report. Question any plans to do a review on the new Century Arms Century 14? It’s a new clone of the Browning Hi Power, would love to see that one.
I carried the M9 while in the service and would love to get my hands on one or at least a clone. This Derya looks like a very well made firearm. Time to save the Pennys.
Melik could be interpreted as "King" or "Angel" or so I understand. Thanks for being honest about the Military Beretta's performance. If I was going to make yet another copy of a 90 series, I would make do something different than all the others. Otherwise, a good looking pistol and an informative review. Thanks.
Cat to English translation: "Stick to the original, get a Beretta!" 😂 Excellent objective review as always, keep it up! I'm of the mind that even the best knockoffs are still knockoffs and I'm wary of the entire American firearms market becoming too reliant exclusively on Turkey. But I'm looking forward to the range day/what's for dinner test. Cheers!
Turkey is producing an amazing quantity of high-quality firearms. This is an excellent looking beretta 92 copy. Having said that I am not a fan of slide mounted safeties, much prefer the Taurus 92 with frame safety. 😊
MKE de satışta şu an.
Nice. They got tired of copying Glock and its daughters, they got tired of copying 1911's and GP35, so they are now making Beretta 92 clones. Even the most anoying features are there! Why no Picatinny and that integral front sight? I like the solid hammer and the grooves on the slide, my Tauru's MIM hammer and the large grooves are weird; on the other hand... the groves on the turkish hammer look as fake as the grooves on my Taurus' hammer. Still waiting to see a turkish clone of the russian GSh18. *after two broken trigger return springs I believe these copies should have something like a wolff like return spring, just saying, I don't trust them.

Thank you for choosing this Derya Melik model RIA to review. I have been looking at these for a while now as a possible Baretta 92 clone option.
Yes it looks very similar to a Beretta

Nice looking!
Actually in Lethal Weapon 4 they pre staged the gun with the take down lever in the down unlocked position. If you slow that scene down it's visible.

NICE VIDEO BROTHERMAN ,, THANKS !! Howard M.😊👍
Great video and thanks for the info 💯💯💯💯💯👏👏👏👍👍👍👍😁
the jet li maneuver. that was cool.
That’s a good looking gun.
Plz do compare it with Girsan Regard MC and Taurus PT 92.
Which is the best budget beretta 92 clone ?
The locking block appears to be Gen. 3 rounded inside corners , this stops the shearing crack from earlier models. M9 clone very well done 👍❤
Will the barrel/locking block interchange with your Beretta 92?
I have one and yes the barrel and locking block are interchangeable.
All parts interchangeable with the Beretta 92/96 series? Compares well to Taurus PT-92/99/100/101 and Regard MC?
Hermosa pieza.👍

Well vertical serrations can have horizontal serrations made in them.
I need a confirmation that Beretta 92 magazines fit, because as you may know, they do not fit into Taurus PT92.
That's in the range video

@@GBGuns yeah I love the old style all metal firearms just that classic feel, and lines, timeless guns.
Great review. Am used to the CZ 75 ergonomics and grip. How would you compare this? Never shot a 92. Possible to put a red dot on this? Thanks.
Compared to a CZ75, the Beretta 92 will feel thicker and rounder in hand. No provisions for a red dot.
Thanks for the response

@@GBGuns curious what kind of aluminum they are using in the frame.
Locking blocks used to be easily removable, but not anymore. I don't remember when Beretta did it, possibly for the 92FS. The 92X is staked for sure.
Waiting for mine to arrive at my FFL. Is there a difference between the 92 and 92fs mag for the Melik? Should I get one over the other? Thanks!
Same shit both should work
2:40 There were many reports of cracked frames, and Beretta had to reinforce the frame.

Thank you for that. I speak/read/write a few languages, but Turkish isn't one of them
Melik Sah. He is a Turkish sultan.
I thought Malik was Arabic for "King"
How about Girsan Regard?
I reviewed one 6-8 years ago
Does this have a straight dust cover I never can tell the difference 😂
It's rounded
@@GBGuns dang won't work for what I need it for
neat tidbit, the "slide off disarm" cant happen with a loaded magazine either.
Beretta 92 X is too costly, hence I like derya melik and am interested in purchasing it.
Pricing and where to find one is in the pinned comment.
It would be nice if they would make it in 40cal 💪💪💪👍👍👍😁😁😁

But, if we didn't go after knock-offs we'd still be shooting 1990's headed Glocks. The aftermarket guns are leap and bounds more advanced
I just wish the slide was a brigadier. Because it looked so much like Albert Weskers samurai edge.
Nice looking gun, but not a fan of slide mounted safetys. Looking forward to shooting impressions.
Problem with old model FS has big grip, small hand has problem
I don't think vertical serrations are for recoil, I'd Imagine they are for not getting the gun knocked loose during combat.
