    I’ve been thinking about something. In my lifetime, growing up Christian fundamentalist, I’ve seen two of the three Transcendentals twisted and wrested into what they were not. I’ve seen the word “Truth” used to describe the rankest heresy. I’ve seen the word “Goodness” used to hide the grossest doctrinal and moral evil. But Beauty isn’t corruptible as the other two. And so Beauty has always been a Jacob’s Ladder for me, the way I understood God through the beauty of Nature and poetry and Bach and great art. And as I have come to know God through Beauty, I have learned to wield the spear of Ithuriel and separate the precious from the vile in the Truth and Goodness transcendentals of my acquaintance.

      Interestingly since Beauty has been sidelined to the True and the Good, it’s also been the least twisted. It has been kept Holy, if you will.

      What denomination is “Christian Fundamentalist”? The fundamental, original, and one true church created by Christ is the Catholic Church. Is this a type of protestantism?

    There are three levels of meaning that I shall call the Body, the Heart and the Mind. This trinity serves as a framework for understanding the layers of intention and interpretation in creative works. The level of the body relates to the physical and tangible aspects of creation, the craftsmanship, and sensory details that ground a work in reality. It’s about the materiality and presence of the work, and its immediate impact on the senses.
    The level of the heart delves into the emotional and sensational, the realm where creators connect with their audience on an intimate, visceral level. This is where the personal experiences, feelings, and passions of the creator resonate with others, where the work becomes a mirror reflecting shared human experiences and emotions.
    The level of the mind elevates the discourse to the reverential and sublime, engaging with ideas, concepts and philosophies. This is where a work transcends its immediate context and touches upon universal truths, where it becomes a conduit for intellectual and spiritual exploration. PC

    the sense of beauty can be highly subjective but what is universal about it is that when you experience beauty you have the possibility of knowing that you are touching something that is inviolably true, and true in a way that defies definition.

  • @Razear
    @Razear 9 місяців тому +1

    People's tastes do differ, but there are universal markers of beauty that we could all come to a consensus on, which is why a piece like the Mona Lisa is so cherished in comparison to other paintings, for example. What's happening in our culture today is the pernicious blurring of the line between the ugly and the beautiful because of DEI initiatives. This is why we've got obese bodies gracing the covers of Swimsuit Illustrated -- something Jordan became infamous for criticizing.

    Beauty is at least in part subjective. Everyone knows this....since we find different things beautiful.

      I think there's a difference between liking something personally, and being, as the video said, ROCKED by something. Something that makes the lights in the room brighter, and the wind sound like music.

    • @connormcpherson8793
      @connormcpherson8793 9 місяців тому

      Although, maybe the things we like are just fragments of beauty. You may prefer red versus blue, but if either one is truly represented in whole, harmonious radiance, I think we'd both be able to appreciate it. Even if I don't like Pop music personally, there will be THOSE songs that I can't help but applaud.

      @@connormcpherson8793 to use music as an example, I love metal music, some of which really gives me that awe feeling, it "rocks me". Yet it's pretty niche, and most people find it too extreme, dark and scary or just don't enjoy it. And that's fine. My favourite album ever was even voted as worst power metal album of the year 2016 on reddit. To me it's a masterpiece, but to others it sucks.

      The good, the true and the beautiful are an extension of god Peterson would say. If you replace your god with "there's no god" that means you choose what is good, true and beautiful. This leads to dissatisfaction and hedonism. Where as hitchens would point out flaws in the bible like all the dead people in the land supposedly rose from the grave when jesus did.

The question I would like to hear answered is why is the Logos of the Universe on a Cross, why would he promise us anything, and do the promises he made apply to you? I have my own thoughts on it but your perspective is so Brilliant that I think that it would do the world some good or at least my consens. @4:06 Exactly. The problem is that we tend to think in terms of objective = exists and subjective = does not exist. But we have to stop privileging the objective form of existence and recognize the equal subjective forms of existing too.
    Think of Plato's true as the objective layer of reality, the beautiful as the subjective layer of reality, and the good as the trans-subjective layer or subjective collective layer of reality. These are sometimes called the 3 faces of God or Plato's Good True and Beautiful.
    The problem with morality and God is that they are as real as anything in the objective realm, but are only experienced within the bottleneck of a subjective agent and their experience. This is why you can't be immoral to a rock. Morality, similar to God, is as real as anything objective but by necessity has to come in to experience through a subjective agent.

    Nihilism causes people to block out beauty. It is something I still struggle to appreciate. Loss of hope or passion to live gives an open door to the ugly. It starts out as a seed planted by one dark soul into others with negative thinking which is why our words are powerful and manifests. We are told in the bible how our words can kill we are warned to tame the tongue it's a hard thing to do in self work.

    ⭕ Exodus 26:13 ≈ Pi
    God gave the Pi ratio to Moses on Mt. Sinai to construct the Wilderness Tabernacle in 1440 BC. However, in 94 AD, a historian made an error. He mistakenly described the structure of the Temple and NOT, and NOT the Tabernacle. The outer courtyard is a hendecagon, not a rectangle, according to Exodus 25-26-27.
    History of the Discovery of Pi:
    330 Exodus 26:8 eleven curtains each 30 cubits long
    15 Exodus 26:12 one curtain folded in half is 15 cubits long
    - 1 Exodus 26:13 curtain hang over/seams add up to 1 cubit long
    = 314
    3.14 = 314 circumference/100 diameter ≈ π ratio (100 cubit court/50 radius per Exodus 27:9-18)
    .................
    Is this rediscovery similar to the Dead Sea Scrolls? How'd we miss this for 1900 years and how does Exodus still matter today?
    ..................
    History of Finding π:
    -(1900-1680 BC) Babylonians 3.125 -(1650 BC) Egyptians 3.1605
    -(1440 BC) Moses 3.141592653... Exodus 26:13 ≈ Pi
    -(500 BC) India's Aryabhata 62,832/20,000, or 3.141
    -(429-501 BC) Chinese Zu Chongzhi 3.1415926 - 3.1415927
    -(250 BC) Archimedes from Syracuse 3.1408 and 3.1429
    .................
    More than a thousand years later, Josephus did NOT know that Exodus 26:13 approximated Pi. 1 Kings 7 confirms they didn't follow the instructions, best guessing 3 for 3.14, see? Almost 3500 years ago we lost Exodus 26:13 ≈ Pi on Mt. Nebo when Moses died. When will Pharaoh let this go? Consider King Josiah & the Prophetess Huldah rediscovering the forgotten scriptures, right?
    World history just realigned with the Word. Pi is coded in your DNA. Experiencing God is knowing and doing the will of God.
    Please utilize the scientific method, maintain consistent hermeneutics, and apply common sense. Remember these are blueprints for God's big tent. After confirmation, repent, then rejoice. This teaching from Moses is NOT too hard.
