Funny to watch this now and see how you have grown in knowledge both in fishing and UA-cam and also expanded how you fish and the equipment you use. All this to say… fishing is a great hobby that you can constantly grow and learn at.
I've actually accidentally hooked myself in the back before! It didn't really hurt...I was casting in a narrow area, and, when I cast out, I felt a strange pulling sensation in my lower back. I didn't know that I'd even hooked myself, until my brother came up, and told me that I had a hook in my back! Fortunately, he was able to pull the hook out, and all I felt was a little twinge when he pulled it out! I'm thinking, nowadays, of going through my lures, too, and cutting my treble hook setups down to just one hook, at least with my larger lures. Please wish me luck, so that I don't hook myself in the fingers!!!😀😁😀😁
Older brother had a motorcycle, all we did as teens was explore/ Creek fishing , best creeks we found were in Hazel Greenl and new market Al area ,if ever in that area.
Late reply but, yeah, the hooks on my crickhopper are no joke. Like my Strike King Bitsy Minnows, those hooks pretty much set themselves on anything and everything lol.
This is a Late Reply, but what I always catch with treble hooks is weeds underneath the water. also sometimes ill get snagged with trebles but mainly with single hooks if the hook is out to far from inside the lure. Had a snag the other day and I couldn't get it out but I finally got it out when the hook bent from me jerking it to much.
Great video John, have you made a video showing how you work the rebel lures and the crappie and trout magnet lures. I’ve been using them in the creeks and ponds around here and I’m catching a few fish but nothing like you do. So I’m probably not using them right. But I would love to see how you are working them
not yet, i don't always catch a ton but a lot of it is a feel for it, slowing it down and making casts right off the other bank or under a overhanging tree help
If it doesn’t quit raining here we won’t be fishing any of the creeks or the Ohio river until about September. I can’t catch a break, when I get a day off all the creeks are flooded and raging

The red eye bass are called “Kentucky bass” I’m pretty sure. They fight harder than a normal fish I guess because they’re always dealing with currents.
Great video! You, without any facial hair, looking very young here! I used to go to a church that was really strict. You couldn't wear any kind of jewelry, you weren't allowed to have any kind of facial hair (guys!), and the women had to have long, uncut hair...you know, stuff like that. They thought that if a man had a beard and/or a mustache, that they were going to Hell, and all that. TV was an absolute no-no, and they didn't even want you to go to the City Park! These people were very demanding people. However, a bunch of sin was happening, such as gossip, backbiting, spreading rumors about certain people that, more times than not, was later proven to be a huge pack of lies...and they even practiced favoritism, which, according to the Bible, is totally non-scriptual. Concerning Jewelry, they used the passage of scripture where Jacob told his people, as they were traveling back to his homeland:"Put off the Strange Gods that are in your hands". The people at the church twisted the scripture to mean that you have to get rid of all your Jewelry, right down to the wedding rings! Weren't we warned in The Bible that "Men of unlearned minds would wrest (that is, twist), the scriptures? In August 1974, when I first started attending that church, there was between 400-500 people attending. Now, in 2019, guess how many people attend that church? Get ready for a major shock:20-25 people! Many people left that church, and found a (hopefully), better church to attend! The Pastor himself was involved in some "Anti-Scriptural" activity. Get that! If ya can't trust a preacher like that, pray that God will lead and guide you to a good church, that has a Pastor that has a heart after God, and that follows God's word! There truly are only a few good sheperds left, Pastorally speaking. The rest fit into one of two categories-1:Hirelings. 2:This one is far worse-Wolves!!! You can always tell, as time passes, as to whether a Pastor is good, or not. Sorry to be so long-winded, but, when I think back on the rough experience that I had in that church, I remember what the Bible says, concerning not putting your trust in man, because man can fall, no matter who it is. Trust only in the LORD! Thanks for bearing with me on this, & may the Good Lord bless you!
hey Ronald, thanks for sharing. Its so great that we can read and learn the Bible on our own that way we can determine if the preacher is staying true to Gods word. The devil has so many people confused, those kind of churches do so much damage to the testimony of Christ. It is a good habit for anyone to study for themselves what someone tells them, whether its about the Bible, Politics, History or anything
