I don’t know nuth’n about fishing but, as a little old man watching your videos, they bring back memories of fishing in a pond and a creek on the childhood farm. Thank you.
Oh John John !!!... This is how I found you almost 2 years ago looking for ultralight lures , and I came across one of your first vids and instantly liked you .I am so happy for your success and for being a great example as a man and Christian. God bless you son and many blessings to you and your loved ones. 👍🙏✝️♥️🎣🏹🛶🇺🇸
I'm glad to see that you carry when out there! I've had two friends that were accosted while fishing, had knives pulled on them, and fortunately both were armed!
By far, Rebel has the best lineup of creek baits there is. I have no link to the company but when anybody asks me what to take creek fishing, it is 1) Rebel Craw, and 2) A Pop-R, 3) Crickhopper…End of story.
Rebel makes some cool lures. I’ve just picked up a bunch of Pop-Rs in different sizes to use this summer I’m excited. Thanks for keeping the fire stoked here John!
Man this reminds me when I went to my university, they had a creek running through campus, and I fished it right in the heart of campus catching little largemouth and rock bass. The best part wasn't the fishing, it was the weird stares everyone was giving me.
Loved this video brother. Anybody can walk in Walmart or Bass Pro, Cabela's or even Amazon to purchase that kit and go out and catch fish. I resisted the temptation last week but bought some green pumpkin Yum Dinger 4 inch . The beauty is the every fisherman beginner, novice and seasoned vet can do it and enjoy. John I'll make you a deal..I guarantee to be a good hellgramite student on an outing with you and I'll boost your confidence in the Pop R and similar baits. Felt like we were right next to you in the water until you hit that deep patch. I'd have been swimming at 5'7...lol. Thanks for taking us along
Rebel critter kit, a timeless classic piece of work, proven good old lures that are inexpensive and incredibly reliable for creek UL fishing, thanks for sharing the experience my fellow angler. friend.
Arkie Lures has some tiny lures that work well and their grasshopper comes in different colors from the crickhopper. I got them because they were half the price of the Rebel lures.
It's not only enjoyable for you John but for me too relaxing watching your fish haven't been able to do much fishing lately so much appreciated keep it up
I just found your channel a few weeks ago, saw one video and subscribed. Since then I've watched a ton of your videos, you've really got me into small creek fishing
I love how you had your gun in the creek man there have been a few times where I have been creek fishing in middle TN and run into some weird/creepy stuff.
It's so weird how people get such a hard on when they see a gun. Whole ass video about fishing, and that's what you walked away with and felt the need to comment on.
I have learned a lot about what lures and bait to use in these creeks around where I live by watching your videos. I'm originally from South Florida and moved to middle Tennessee. The creek fishing is a lot different than fishing the lakes and canals down there. It's totally different fishing the clear water. Thanks for sharing and making these videos. you're one of the few channels I actually look forward to seeing your content. Keep on keeping on!
Good tip on the Crickhopper. I have fished the Creek hopper for years but twitched it on the surface and never had much success. But recently I started casting and retrieving and actually caught a nice bass or two on it as well as bluegill.
That Firetiger Super Teeny R is actually a good white bass and hybrid lure. Sometimes that color actually works better than shad colors on the fish with lines on them.
Love that kit,was one of the first lures I bought when I started creek fishing. The grasshopper and crawfish are always hitters. Never really caught anything on the popper, gonna try it again when I go fishing later. Love the scripture in the end, great video.
The pop-r is situational, I stuck a 15.5” creek smallmouth early this year on one along with a few more 12 inchers. The topwater bite should be turning up right now
Lucky you. I could always get the frog or rat and even that crankbait to hit, even bigger poppers. Never this little popper,I use the same technique like I do with the others. Idk,ill get one some day. Lol
I got this exact kit - it works awesome! Just like you, I caught a nice rainbow trout on the first cast (Clinch River by the dam)! I haven't tried all of the tools yet - can't wait to see what else I'll catch. Thanks for sharing your experience & your witness!
I have some Rebel crawls and grasshoppers that are over twenty years old and still look good and the only thing is changed hooks when they got dulled up, some were my Dads .
Great little kit ! I bought this kit back in early summer. Have caught fish on every one , except the craw shaped one. I will try it again this fall. First time I've seen you go chest-deep in a creek! LOL! As always, love your content. RKB
John i enjoy your creek fishing trips. They are so enjoyable to me to watch. They remind me so much of my youth fishing all the creeks in my area. You have the ability to catch just about anything out of a creek at different times of the year. God bless you John for sharing your videos with us. 🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊😊😊
I don't know if I have ever caught a spotted sunfish before. I may have, but it was around the time when I was a teenager and called all sunfish "bream" lol God bless, and hope the continued UA-cam success brings you happiness in life.
John, Another Outstanding Video, I have that kit and a bunch of ultra light Rebel lures from the early 90s and they don't make them anymore. Keep Up the Great videos.
I have the alternative color version of this kit, (the one with the orange and brown crankbaits) and it tears the rivers up, especially when they run muddy and high, but safe enough to wade. Smallmouth can't get enough of the Teeny R and the popper.
Fun times for sure!! Ive definitely had some fun with the small rebel lures over the years, the crickhopper and crawdad are elite, A little harder to find but the little jointed minnows they make are elite too! Never tried the poppers but I might need to!
Have you ever tried fishing the Little Tennessee River here in WNC? My son and would love to see you do a video on the Little Tennessee River. Lots of smallies in there.
Creek fishing is one of the funniest way's to fish, because you can catch all kinds of species ,in the little creek that I fish in has largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, green sunfish, bluegill, orange spotted sunfish and channel catfish and flathead catfish
I fished the Holston river from the time I was 12 years old until I went away for college. My biggest smallmouth bass was when I was home from college. It was my birthday in July. Very hot. I fished from daylight til noon with no bites other than maybe a bite.About 12:05 PM , I had wasted most of my live crawfish. I was in the Yuma community. I had several dead crawfish, and one live huge crawfish over 3 inches long, I normally threw the large crawfish back as I had tried large ones before, never a fish but threw this one above a 3 foot dam that stretched all the way across the river and let it fall over the dam. A huge smallmouth hit and it took me what seemed like 5 minutes to land it as I fished with ultra light weight tackle. My biggest up to that time was about 3 pounds. This one was 24 inches long and weighed 5 pounds and 2 oz. I will never forget that fish.
I grew up fishing farm ponds and rivers and creeks with all those lures. Pb bass on a teeny crawl. 6lbs. Pb bass on a rebel popper 8lbs. The grasshopper 4lbs. Lol. Not to mention all the sunfish. Have hooked bigger bass on the crawl but they bent the hooks out. Fish on everyone
I love the yum dinger and all there baits. Idk why but i have caught more bass on the dinger than any other senko made. I think there attractant might work well also.
Yum dingers are the perfect weight for creeks it seems like too. My preference for senkos are a Berkley general but they sink pretty quick compared to the dinger. Jon said it. Never leave home without a yum dinger 😂
Top 3 creek bass lures: 1. Ned rigged z man TRD craw 2. Storm wildeye curly tail minnow 3. Lunkerhunt pocket frog Landed probably 500 bass between those 3 the past year.
We have those gold colored fish. We just call them smallmouth but I'm wondering if there's a difference from male and female. Kinda like how the male bird has colors, I wonder if the male smallmouth have the stripes to attract a mate. Could just be a hybrid mix with spotted bass. I do know the solid gold ones are more rare than a striped one.
You know he’s been fishing in creeks for a long time when he’s impressed by a 13in bass. Also I’m pretty sure the fish at 15:28 is a smallmouth or a mean mouth.
I have the walmart version of all of these now and they work good too. Simetimes they have a sale on the real Rebels amd ill grab a bunch. I may put better hooks on them tho. The smallmouth cant stand the craw if you bottom bounce it 20ft deep along the dam or over deep rock piles and theyre cheap enough that I dont cry of i snag one. If you have a canoe you gotta try bottom bouncing
I have bought a lot of those kits but I have noticed the hooks are different on the kit than when you buy in separate, not really a big deal to me because I usually change hooks really fast on the small baits, prob on the pop r is popping it to hard, it works the best with small pops just enough to make come up and pauses in between pops
That fish at the tunnel towards the end of the video was a smally man, come ooon! Lol! The tail fin was wide, red eyes and greenish color no texture! Smally all day! Awesome video though! 💪🏽
that topwater Rebel popper slays largemouth bass on spring & fall lake shorelines at dusk or dawn. I don't think creeks hold enough largemouths for it to be effective
Never go fishing in a creek without i little protection :) i had a coyote stare me down in a kayak. if it would have come a few steps closer it would be mounted...
I don’t know nuth’n about fishing but, as a little old man watching your videos, they bring back memories of fishing in a pond and a creek on the childhood farm. Thank you.

Another great lure Rebel makes is the top water bee, in which resembles a bumble bee. It’s a great lure for small creeks!
I've seen those in Walmart, and wondered about them.
Dont forget the hellgramite if you can find it.
By far, Rebel has the best lineup of creek baits there is. I have no link to the company but when anybody asks me what to take creek fishing, it is 1) Rebel Craw, and 2) A Pop-R, 3) Crickhopper…End of story.

Dude! Almost 100k! Congrats man. Love to see you using your platform to speak the truth of Jesus.
Silver with red feather rooster tail is my go to creek lure!
Arkies Crawlin Fries were my favortie soft bait in the creek, can’t find them anymore!
I noticed the popper works better in still water and have caught alot of bass on them great video.
The rebel kit "slam" 🎣💥🐟 great job John another great video. We appreciate you brother. God Bless and tight lines
The popper on the French Broad River in Knoxville I have caught 3 to5 lb Smallmouth. One of my favorite
Great video! love your content! @15:57 I believe that was a smallmouth bass my favorite to catch in creeks and rivers
Looks like alot of smallmouth I catch in Erie Canal in Western New York
I love how you had your gun in the creek man there have been a few times where I have been creek fishing in middle TN and run into some weird/creepy stuff.
😎🇺🇸🦅
It's so weird how people get such a hard on when they see a gun. Whole ass video about fishing, and that's what you walked away with and felt the need to comment on.
I never don't have atleast one sidearm. No matter what, rather never need it and have it than wise I had it...

Rebel lures, especially the bumble bugs and crick hoppers are alot of fun. My grandkids all have their own! God Bless, Jim
I believe we can say that this is a great Creek Kit!
I got this exact kit - it works awesome! Just like you, I caught a nice rainbow trout on the first cast (Clinch River by the dam)! I haven't tried all of the tools yet - can't wait to see what else I'll catch. Thanks for sharing your experience & your witness!
Glad to see you're packing some heat. I thought you were a little vulnerable in some of the spots you fish.
Did I miss something? Didn't know he carried, but glad he does.
Lolllll vulnerable where's he fishing Harlem
@@jedsteelwell2354 you from here?

You are getting so close to 100K. So excited for your channel. Good clean fishing!😃
I have some Rebel crawls and grasshoppers that are over twenty years old and still look good and the only thing is changed hooks when they got dulled up, some were my Dads .
My favorite CFA videos are the small creek stuff. Love this type of video.
I use a Rebel Crickhopper, but it's the popper version. I've had good luck with it and have had it for years lol. Been lucky to not have lost it.
Great little kit ! I bought this kit back in early summer. Have caught fish on every one , except the craw shaped one. I will try it again this fall. First time I've seen you go chest-deep in a creek! LOL! As always, love your content. RKB
Interesting, usually the craw works the best in the creeks around me

15:58 that looks alot like the smallmouth bass I've caught here in Illinois
In RI and my thought was a smallie.
Agreed, definitely a nice creek smallie!
Yep smallie!!
John, Another Outstanding Video, I have that kit and a bunch of ultra light Rebel lures from the early 90s and they don't make them anymore. Keep Up the Great videos.
The gold colored grasshopper is probably my favorite out of the box from personal experience.
I agree, i use all except the popper. I get great results

A very successful trip.
I use the cricket and the tiny R myself. My two favorite mini lures.
Just perfect kit for beginners and seasoned anglers. Just real fishing at it's best.
Is it worth buying because I've never used those lured
Yes it is. I have fished with these for years. The pop r for 30 yrs. From North Carolina to Erie Pa. Ole Reliable.
U r welcome JOHN,always a pleasure!!!GOD BLESS 😎
Great selection of lures, I have caught fish on all of them. Thanks John

I used to go fishing for carp and I used Wheaties mixed up with Big Rsd soda pop.
Yep . I concur! The bottom three are the best!!!

Always fun to watch your videos! Keep making them!
This is a good kit, but their top water popper pack is outstanding! I try to buy 2-3 of the popper packs each year. They are so much fun!
Top 3 creek bass lures:
1. Ned rigged z man TRD craw
2. Storm wildeye curly tail minnow
3. Lunkerhunt pocket frog
Landed probably 500 bass between those 3 the past year.
Nice video 📹 Bro. John ! Beautiful area there ! I love when U fish creeks and fish 🐟 lone !! GOD BLESS 🙌🙏
Last time I waded one of the rivers here a few years ago. Threw the teeny crawl. Caught maybe 30 bass green sunfish and bluegills
Love your videos man!!! Just got the Nikko Hellgramites and they are great! I caught like 10 Smallies on it today! Anyway keep up the good work!

Great verse sir! Love the little baby bass cranks like those. We always catch loads of panfish with similar ones to those.
Awesome video. Love the panfish and little bullheads cats. your videos always entertain. Thank you Sir.
Try the bomber kit. Usually sold at walmart right next to the rebel one
12:27. A good thing John is like 6'6" tall or thereabouts.
haha 6-4
@@CreekFishingAdventures Close enough! Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley are both 6'4" but listed at 6'6".
Caught a small bass on a similar popper to that fishing a cranberry bog pond last week. First think I’d ever caught on one lol
The teeny R. I fish something similar and tear them up. I fish the Bitsy Minnow by Strike King
Great video man! Love watching you fish these lures. And identifying these different sun fish.
Great video to teach creek fishing John young or older.

that topwater Rebel popper slays largemouth bass on spring & fall lake shorelines at dusk or dawn. I don't think creeks hold enough largemouths for it to be effective
Great video m8 wish we had waters like that in the UK 👍🎣
Every time I think about going and exploring a creek and fish, I’m always reminded why I don’t do it as often in the summertime…big ole horse flies 😰
Try using a whopper plopper 60. You’ll have huge smallie success.
Another awesome video brother John!
I have not seen a red breasted sunfish in Michigan with the red in the tail. Very pretty.
That is a good looking crappie nibbles creek Jon!! 😛😛🤜🤛
The rebel craw is a long time go-to !
I love the verse you put on this video.
It might be really. I have a lot of confidence in these. I use (and lose) them often, LOL.

Holy crap! I love this creek kit!!!
Walmart sells an Ozark Trail knockoff of this Rebel kit. They look and perform exactly the same, but much cheaper price tag
Love the crick hopper!
Yessir deep creek rebel craw l never leave home without it...
Thank you for the video! What type or brand of shoe do you use when wading? Thanks.
