    I prefer the centered hud. I feel it makes it easier to keep an eye on health/resources/cooldowns without having to look away from the action.

    • @TobiasSherman

      You would be surpised. The reason you think it's easier is b/c you have trained your eyes to go there. If you commit to 2 weeks the other way you may never go back after your eyes are re-trained.

      I greatly prefer the corner layout, but I use center to more easily monitor buff durations. Wish there was an option to move the buff & debuff bar.

      @@Voce24 EXACTLY, that would be the most ideal. ie Barrage Rogue with the combo strat. you need to see if your combo procs off 1 hit or 3.... Impossible to see in corner OR center.

      With the exception of cooldowns, we can now put health and resource bars above our character in S5 :). I would like some better cooldown monitoring options though for sure.

    One thing not mentioned for the high contrast cursor is that the circle just below that setting lets you choose a color for the cursor. So if bright white isn't good enough you can change the color to something else. I made mine like a light blue/cyan type color and I find that helps me keep track of where my cursor is when things get crazy on screen with all the ground effects.

    7:40 just assign force move to the mouse scroll wheel, as you spin the wheel past each click it registers an individual force move, so you can unlock the wheel and spin it like the wheel of fortune

    When you do the Windowed Fullscreen option, also scroll down in the tab and make sure to check Lock Cursor. This confines your cursor to the game window, and because you're windowed fullscreen Alt Tabbing will keep the game up on your main monitor while allowing you to penetrate the screen barrier to whatever you're doing on your side monitors. This way you can prevent from accidentally clicking on a bunch of furry pron while having an intense fight with Lillith. Or so my friend tells me could happen.

      Last non voluntary "nap" while gaming I was sitting with one foot under the thigh and 4h like that and the whole foot and ankle was totally numb.
      It took more than a week to get any feeling back and I can't tell you how many times I twisted/sprained it at first.
      Not recommended!
      Funny thing is that I ofc get the tip about sleeping in the bed is better and last year after someone gave that tip again I went to bed and I wake up the next day and my left hand was numb and unusable. The irony. 😂
      Lucky it wasn't my dominant hand since that took 4 or 5 months to go back to normal, this with my foot is 3x faster tho.
      And did someone say that sleeping when on the toilet is awesome? It's not. :>
      What's also fun is that I have sever insomnia but some days I fall asleep sitting quite easily. I'd never drive during those. But if I'm not alone I never fall asleep like that.
      Oh well I hope you got some laugh from this at least, I've accepted and don't mind that it's just a part of what makes me being me. 😊

    The whole problem you're describing with the "combine move/interact?basic skill" option can be avoided by using a keybind to move. Been using the spacebar to move since Diablo II after a friend recommended it, and I haven't changed it since, still very nice way to play

    Not sure if you knew this but instead of changing basic skill to another key completely, keep it as all the same but hold shift down instead to stand in place and use your basic skill without moving. Shift plus left click is less strain then G and leaves your hand closer for your other skills with shift key holding

    I'm left handed, and it feels weird to have the lower left corner blocked for me. HUD on top would be a great idea. The game 'field' is tilted slightly so there's more screen space/visibility above than below. We really should have 7 HUD options (top, bottom, each corner, and off/very minimal, ie: just health/resource numbers and conditions/stacks/cooldowns).
    I definitely have clicked on my HUD when trying to kill things, though. It's a minor issue, but still an issue.

    • @OwnModeGaming
      @OwnModeGaming  Місяць тому

      I haven't really thought about the left handed thing, the right would be nice for that. In general,I would like to see more hud options. It seems like a small thing to add and I think it would be valuable to a lot of players.

  • @artte88
    @artte88 Місяць тому +1

    Take this as a contribution to the vid. Some of these are much simpler to change. Some weren't exactly correct.
    First what I wouldn't agree on.
    Hud/left. You move the health bar all the way to the edge and it's right next to the resource one.
    Seeing that info easier is more important for me on HC, especially with 27" monitor and not sitting way back. Not worth it to maybe see something that's still far enough away and it is only when it's from that angle it does anything so left/right/up doesn't get any pro of using it, also left side gets blocked somewhat instead of the bottom so with that I think you can get why I'm not on the same page. It's worse if you have a resource closer in color to health it's easy to mistake one or the other. For SC then I can see the it being used, esthetic only tho.
    Windowed vs Full. With a dual monitor setup having the slightly faster time getting the game back in focus is worth it to use Windowed and it makes it smoother going back and forth between game/browser. You can just lock cursor and it's like Full-screen mode.
    Also full can often get hidden if you switch to browser and that's not very good for HC. Can't recall if D4 does that atm tho.
    If you have a slow PC Full will help with performance a little bit.
    Then what can be done in a more simple way.
    Don't need to remove combined buttons. Just bind something like mouse button 5 for force move, no need to change anything from the regular bindings you'd use unless you use mb5 for something already then just choose another one.
    For the rest they are okay and some are basic stuff people miss so it's good to remind about them. 👍
    Hope you don't mind some constructive critic. Much is personal preference, just not all. ❤

    I use the largest cursor as a different colour that isnt likely to be on the screen. That way I can see it over the barrage of spell effects easier. I didnt know you can separate your skills though, I lost my stuff at the game and alt+F4'd it for the night about a week ago because I was at the end of a 110 Pit and for some reason I couldnt move, no matter what the game wanted to blow the skill I had on my left click even when not over a mob. I got killed twice on the end boss of the pit, on the 3rd death all of a sudden I couldnt even run back into the boss room, all it would do is blow my shout skill on my left click for my barb and even when it was on cooldown it still would just say cant do that its on cooldown.
    Now I know I can split them I will do so and hopefully not have that problem again.

    • @OwnModeGaming
      @OwnModeGaming  Місяць тому

      I feel you for sure. When I got the mouse I have now I didn't know one of the buttons on the mouse would switch between mouse sensitivities and I kept hitting it on accident and the mouse would start flying off on to my second monitor. I would be clicking like crazy trying not to die until I realized I was moving windows around on the second monitor. It drove me crazy.

    • @MrGeneralScar
      @MrGeneralScar Місяць тому +1

      @@OwnModeGaming Yeah my issue was not with sensitivity. It did fly off the screen during a boss fight in a pit. But then i got it back on the screen and was working fine, then I got killed because when I tried click to move with my mouse about 3cm away from my barb, it blew the shoult skill on the left click. Then afterwards it still wouldnt move, it instead just said the skill was on cooldown. I then died, and it seemed to let me move but only after it used the skill. I died again. The after that it used the skill outside the boss room and I was stuck and couldnt move at all. The game would use the skill when it was off CD or just say the skill is on CD and cant be used yet.
      So its possible that was an issue where the mouse went off the screen when I was in combat the D4 got confused and stuffed up the click states of the cursor and bugged out. Or it could be something else.
      I lost patience at that point tho and closed the game and started binge watching youtube for a bit before bed. Game seemed to work fine the next day.

      @OwnModeGaming  Місяць тому

    • @jedirayden
      @jedirayden 20 днів тому +1

      @OwnModeGaming On console/presumably on PC with 'roller, you CAN target your skills onto a specific enemy. It's tricky and imprecise (might try shifting the button layout to more closely match D3, if possible) but if you can get the boss/elite/desired target health bar to be the one displayed at the top, you click the right stick in to "lock on".
      In D3, you simply did the same with the health bar and then held down L2/Left Trigger to lock on. In D4, this button is your evade.
      Hope this is useful, to the OP or for your next settings video!

    With the HUD placement, not sure if it is a PC default to have it centered, but on Console I actually had to change it from off to the side as the default over to center. With console though, I've found the center HUD is much better if you use larger TVs. You are not constantly glancing over to the corner, instead it is just in your view below your action. I can understand moving it on a monitor, but on a much larger TV....center HUD is not really in the way.
