So I’m confused. Mine came with the yellow recoil spring installed. . What recoil spring do I use if I’m NOT running a suppressor or compensator? Please help

I really do not know the answer on that man. I’m sorry. I would reference your manual. Should explain a little better.

What’s the best ammo to use for this?

Per the owners manual, 124 grain 9mm during the break in period, then whatever you like after that. The hotter / heavier weight ammo helps the springs break in better, initially.

You can purchase a replacement heavy duty firing pin from Apex. From all the reviews i've seen that's almost a first upgrade purchase for those who get the fn 509. It'll run you about $50. Although one youtuber pointed out that it's a small amount of firing pins having that issue, and one way to know if it will happen to yours is to check the primer after firing a round. If it has a round, centered, clean indent, you should be okay. If it looks like it is scraping or gouging in any direction, consider replacing the firing pin as soon as possible. I hope this helps!

Don’t underestimate FN quality nor compare it to something like Glock. That gun (specifically the barrel) would most likely outlive yourself.

I know they're nice guns, but for that price they need to come with a TSA approved hardcase, with molded foam inserts. Glocks, sigs, hell even caniks come in a much nicer case. Not acceptable for this price point.
