Completely get why you went this route Rich, the Apple Carplay on my Honda is so sketchy to be unusable too, luckily my bad boy already has a built in dedicated Satnav but if I was an AT man, I'd do the same for sure....love the Garmin on my GS for example, so much better than relying on a phone satnav for all sorts of reasons......Itchy Boots can't be wrong!
Just the carplay??? Android auto is worse too. Honda should build the things they know about and leave these things to the after market. I really wish the UI was simple and straight forward like a Tenere 700. Now its too complicated and so easy to forget how to get aroudn the menu when you don't ride the motorcycle every other day
Great video Rich. I've been using a dedicated satnav for years, you really wont regret the upgrade! No data or signal issues, and that new XT has some brilliant features. I'm due an upgrade as I've had mine maybe 12 years now, but with lifetime maps it's easy to keep going. But watching this isn't helping keep my bank balance any safer lol
Great video Richy you have just sold it to me being a UA-cam fan is costing me a fortune to kit out my new KTM 1290 Sas, but great fun finding and researching all the bits. Keep them coming
Great set up. I have the same sat nav and used it to visit my son in Belgium in the car and it was perfect, no issues at all. Also use it on the motorcycle and yes the screen is great and fast too.
@richyvida Once again a great video!! I really liked how you installed your Zumo XT above the Honda display. But on your latest videos, you changed the position of the Zumo XT and mounted it above the handlebars. Did you have any mechanical issues with your first arrangement? Maybe you could give me a hint. Thanks in advance!
Hi there! Yes, this Givi mount was terrible! Vibed all over the place and even snapped after only about 2 weeks. The set up I have now is with a mount from Rugged Roads, and is perfect. Absolutely solid, and I actually much prefer the location to being up there. 👍👍

Brilliant timing. I was doing some research earlier today for a nav unit and if the XT is good enough for you it will most certainly be good enough for me!
I got that locking unit and the same Garmin, too...never used a nav / gps system before but I really like it! I gotta say, that Africa Twin is such a beauty.
I fitted a dedicated satnav in the same way for the exact same reason. You’re kinda lucky that you aren’t any shorter in stature😉, as it sits just lower than the horizon, which is where I think we are all looking. Looks like a great bit of kit! 😎👌🏻👍🏻 Can’t wait to see what other accessories you have lined up!
Awesome setup! I'm going to setup my Zumo the same way. I 'm also considering adding one of the new Chigee AIO5 Wireless CarPlay screens mounted to the handle bars. Chigee also has forward and rear dash cams and blind spot monitoring.
Just ordered this Zumo last night. I do own an Africa Twin as well a DR650 and a two stroke dirt bike where I will need to swap the unit between all 3. I was using my phone (Gaia maps) for tracking and following tracks but newer phones have optical stabilization and when I upgraded my phone the camera killed itself in one day of riding. My biggest concern with this unit is woods riding. Like single track trail. My club does sanctioned events where I need to follow a route with heavy tree coverage. I’m hoping that there is no interference. Your country is absolutely stunningly beautiful and my wife pointed out that on this day the sky matched your bike which is pretty cool.
I can see why you went for this option. Same with the android auto on my 2021, notchy as hell. I had a charger block replaced in my mobile and it didn't like the new block wouldn't connect at all. Resolved the issue using wife's old phone thankfully. I found an anker charging cable ensures a seemless connection now. Thanks for another great vid
I have had sat nav’s on my bikes since 2004 when I started European touring, as it’s so handy to be able to find the nearest petrol station quickly and easily. As you will appreciate Rich, the petrol station’s are not always obvious in some little towns on the continent. I did consider not getting a new sat nav on the new GS last year, but eventually decided I couldn’t be without that functionality and the fact it doesn’t cost data etc, so Isn’t affected by roaming charges. I went with the BMW Nav 6 as it locked into the cradle and could be used on the wiz wheel, but it’s not as good / reliable as my previous Garmin Zumo 590lm yet. However it is still under warranty, so we will see. Love the Touratech mount, had one on the 590 for the same reasons, not need to remove the Nav at fuel or coffee stops. Very neat install by the way. 👍
I'm going the same way on my GS tired of the phone and app problems and want something made for the job and not BMW , great video. Will get XT on order 👍👍👍👍👍
Good installation very neat. Though I do remember cars and bikes having fuse boxes you could wire into. I guess the eazicam does this job now, but more expense.. My phone is my first back up to gps. The garmin is a strong, rugged reliable unit and will serve you well. Nice looking bike. Happy travels 👍
Why do we like to know our altitude. Me and my mate always state altitude while out riding, and he's right behind me. "562m here mate", "mine says 559m", "mine says 568 now", and it goes on 😂 EzCan is a great bit of kit. Couldn't see the point in one till I bought one. And on the KTM, it acts as the dongle too so no need to keep deactivating the anti wheelie every ignition cycle 👌💪👍 Great vid Richy, I enjoyed watching this.
Have been using a Zumo XT for over a year now with no problems it has a brighter screen than my older BMW Navigator, the only drawback is that you can't add skins to the display to change its appearance. I didn't bother with a lockable mount as its so easy to fit and remove when stopped. I use a stick on Ram mount for the holder which sticks on top of the instrument console and is secure. I have the power direct to a switched gps power supply on the bike so it goes on immediately with ignition, when power is switched off mine does not immediately switch off but gives the option to stay on internal power for several minutes. I don't bother linking with my phone as I have no intention of taking or making any calls when on the road. I have added music to the Garmin but rarely use it as it will soon flatten the battery in the headset.
Without a doubt the best Sat Nav available. Had mine on the Tiger 900 Rally Pro for about a year now. Evotech Perfomance have a great mounting bar to put it right above the TFT and directly in line of sight. It even has a built in MP3 player that shows the album covers.
Thats a lovely bit of kit Richy and mounted it where you have is a top job, I've got the Tomtom rider 550 but I'm hearing some folk say the Garmin is more reliable. Sandy
Great vid Richy, Thanks for posting. I used to think that you had to wait for the Honda screen to boot before you can start the engine, but you don’t. You can turn the ignition on and press the starter straight away and it will fire up, still have to wait to OK the screen though, but I think you can move off while you’re waiting.
I’m seriously contemplating one of these, currently £277 if you’re a Bennett’s insurance customer. I understand your frustration with Honda’s CarPlay but at least it’s not the £699 BMW ask for the navigator 6. Great video as always and very informative. Thank you
Any thoughts about doing a review on the anlas capri x tyres you've been using? Thinking about getting some myself but there isn't much info about them
They’ve been great. The rear is shot now with less than 2k miles on. Quietest knobblies I’ve used, thus far. Stick well to the road, wet or dry. Not as much bite off road as others I’ve used.
Do you use buttons on bike (handlebar) for phone calls? I have connected mobilew phone with bike, then helmet with bike, and helmet with Garmin. I don't use Garmin for phone calls, only for navigation. I tried several combinations of connections and now it is working good. But sometimes by phone calls I have problem, I hear only bip-bip. I use Sena comunication. How to reconcile everything? Thanks.
Should have gone for Android. Mine runs well. Can't say the same for the condensation inside the screen though, had one replaced already. Luv yr garage videos, u tell it like it is and it's not just sponsored stuff. Authentic. Fab stuff
Android on CarPlay, ya mean? Na, still as glitchy regardless of platform. Did you mean your tft had condensation? Wow, I’ve never had that.. glad it got sorted for you
@@RichyVida yep android auto. There's a screen update on it. Can download it from Honda website. Yep foggy patch in the middle inside the screen. Thing is, happened with replacement screen too. High humidity in garage 75 percent. Not good. So changed garage...
This is awesome, love the video and love the Garmin set up. I’ve a USB port on my dash so I presume I can run one through there rather than do the amazing wiring job you had to do. Love your bike, I’m thinking of this for my next bike at moment I’ve a Moto Guzzi V85TT - safe riding 😊
Crakin bit o' navi kit! I'd be tempted to send power to the AT TFT display via a separate SW, but the dedicated GPS brings other advantages. I've found that sat navs don't zap your battery all that much.
And I just got rid of my old Zumo 396LM which was terribly slow. The main question is - can you quickly see the whole route planned? I mean quick zoom out to judge if the route makes sense and to make some adjustments. It was simply not doable on the old one.
@@RichyVida that's what I was afraid. I still wonder what's the best option: XL, 550 or phone... or wait till the next season as both Garmin and Tomton haven't show any new models for quite a long time. Possibly the last option seams reasonable as I have no long trips planned for now ;)
Hi Richy, thanks for this video that I first watched a couple of years ago, resulting in me purchasing the XT and the Touratech mount for my GSA. I'm now seriously considering getting the 2024 Africa Twin Adventure Sport that has the 19 inch front wheel. So, I'm thinking about where to mount my satnav. The Givi mount seen here in this video looks good, however, on your latest videos, your satnav is now mounted on the handlebars; can you please remind me why you stopped using the Givi mount and what bracket did you use to mount the satnav on the handlebars? Many thanks, Andy.
Hi Andy I moved it because 1; it vibed too much and 2; the givi mount was rubbish and actually snapped. The one I have now is from Rugged Roads. It’s perfect and absolutely solid. 👍
@@RichyVida thanks Richy, that’s good; is that another bar above the TFT as I think the XT was still mounted on your handlebars during the Morocco trip. I’ll also take a look at their website👍
@@RichyVida are you now using the Touratech GPS mounting adaptor for above the TFT? That’s the only one, other than the Givi, that I can find at Rugged Roads. Cheers.
Great bits of kit. Do yourself a favour and spend a couple of hours at home going through all the options. There's things that you'd probably miss just getting used to it riding. 👍 Oh and myrouteapp integration makes using it even better. 👌 The only downside I've found it that the detailed satnav maps (birds eye) seem to add quite a processing load.
Couple of questions. Easy cam connectors. Can you enlighten me . Nice sat Nav kit . Was the whole kit very expensive. Also your handle bars look higher up than mine . Mine are down near the tank . I have tried to adjust mine but can’t seem to be Albe to adjust the control panel / navigation keys on the left . Don’t seem to be any screws so as to adjust, How did you do this .
My bars are simply rolled forward, and the mirrors/levers are repositioned. You can’t move the switchgear. The EZcan is a wonderful bit of kit. It plugs into the bikes IMU, and “listens” to the bike. It has 4 circuits that are fully programmable, to behave exactly how you wish. Visit “A Bike Thing” for more information. If you decide to order one, tell Steve (the owner) I sent you, he’ll look after you 👍
Can you walk us through your vlogging setup? I can't get my go pro right on my helmet. Your framing is really nice. Mine is Always not centered. What go pro helmet strap do you use?
looks a great bit of kit, would be a bit concerned about fixing bracket, could passable cut through with tin snips? just saying somthing to think about when leaving bike unattended
Just waiting on my nice new AT being ready to collect, so really looking forward to playing with it and deciding on a sat nav solution - have an ageing garmin that has been on my last 4 bikes... could be time for an upgrade!!
Just a thought, how about mounting the GoPro alongside the Garmin? Or get a smaller 'bullet' cam to stick there tucked behind the left side of the windscreen?
The Zumo XT is a great unit, the only things I don’t like: -You can not use the Phone assistant (Siri on IOS). To make calls you have to use the Zumo (make sure that you gave permissions in the Bluetooth configs). -The music in longer trips, streaming from your phone, stops working without reason. Other than that, I love it.
Xt is a great bit of kit but has its moments with connection at times . I didn’t bother with the secure lockable mount and just take it off and pop it in my pocket . I’ve got power cradles for my Africa twin and Ktm890r duke and just swap it between the 2 bikes . Enjoy 😉
Great vid & addition for the Big Lad. Got the Garmin Zumo XT on my bike. Fantastic device, although the screw that attaches the power cable has a tendency to come loose. Can’t find the screwdriver that came with it. I don’t suppose you know what size Philips it is? 👍🏻
Being an old Skool rider, mainly because I am old, I find a sat nav takes the adventure out of a trip. I just use a cheap phone with an off line map to let me know where I am not where I need to go, I like to work that out myself, adds to the adventure. Even travelling around the UK is not an issue, spent 2 weeks doing a lap of the place and 2 weeks doing a lap of Romania a few years ago only using paper maps, no problems and I live in Australia. The Vikings found pommyland a thousand years ago without a compass never mind a map but now people need a sat nav to find the nearest costa coffee shop. 😔😔😔 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Haha great comment and, to a degree, I agree! I too, like to see just where I am in relation to everything, and take myself off wherever I fancy at the time. Still a great bit of tech to have installed 👍
Thats a very nice satnav screen, I have the Garmin Zumo 590 which I use in my car also which isn't as pretty as yours but I rather use my Garmin over the inbuilt satnav in my Audi.I like where you mounted it, very safe keeping your eyes level ahead and in easy reach.
That looks like a good solution EXCEPT that its location blocks the view forward in your video. It's the exact same with Itchy Boot's current set-up. Don't mean to sound negative because it's a great solution for you... but the SAT NAV now dominates the middle of the screen and the view of the road and oncoming traffic.
The XT looks a very polished unit indeed. I've had issues with my Nav 6 unit to the point I don't use it so this may be a good way forward. Neat install Richy 👍
Martin, my mate who rides an RT has installed an attachment that allows the XT to fit the Nav 6 bracket and the wheel adjuster still works. He’s very happy with it. Much better than the BMW Nav models.
Stupid question, why didn't you run the supply for the zumo from the 12V acc socket connector on the left side of the dash? Or from the ignition switch. Much simpler
@@RichyVida Cheers Richy. Just watched your instal video of the new screen. As ever thanks for all your vids and the time you put into them for the benefit of others. Safe riding my friend and give my love to Derbyshire ❤️ David
Very clean, very neat install mate. Looks really nice and I can fully understand why you would go down that path. I have the same issues with Android Auto, it's bloody frustrating! That looks like a brilliant way around the tech issues. Will be very keen to see how she goes on the up and coming tours!
Yeah exactly. So frustrating as it’s a stunning unit (CarPlay and tft). As I said; if you’re just out for a ride somewhere it’s fine, but out in a proper tour where you need to be stopping a lot for pics, fuel etc, it’s a real PITA having to sit around waiting for it to sort itself.
Richy, If I recall you produced a video showing how you relocated your Garmin XT from a above the TFT to a position lower down on the bike’s handlebars in the central position. Is it still available or have I got it wrong and did you did it vice versa to what you have in this video?
Apple CarPlay on my car plays about sometimes and that’s with the genuine apple cable that comes with the phone connecting them up, Thankfully the V Strom doesn’t have such luxuries as that so I’ll just stick with my old iPhone and calimoto lol
I love my XT great piece of kit, I would of liked to have placed my XT where you have on my ATAS, but heard a few reports of vibration in that position, so I ended up using the Touratech mount on the centre of the handlebars works really well and looks good. Have you experienced any vibrations in that position?
Really interesting video, I have thought about it and it's on the list of upgrades. It's a great unit and ideal for longer distances, but the tower set up I've not been able to find for my bike so it's back to handlebar mounts! Take care and ride safe mate 😊🖖🏼
I like the set-up. For me personally I find there's too much screen in the view so I'd mount the Garmin on the handlebar, but it's personal preference. I'd probably just use my phone to be honest, ignoring Android Auto and CarPlay. I'm struggling to see the benefit of this setup over doing that, apart from taking photos with your phone being more difficult?
I thought the same thing. Most phones aren't fully waterproof while this is. You need your phone in case of an emergency, if it's always exposed, more possible things to happen to it. I've seen multiple videos of people losing their phone's doing adventure riding. When you stop somewhere you have to take your phone off with you because it's easy to steal. This NAV seems more secure in that sense and it won't have your info stored in it if someone does get a hold of it. It uses satellite for spotty areas where your phone won't get a signal and have an option to send a SOS signal through it. It's made specifically for motorcycles and gives routes, plus off road maps. You don't have to rely on glitchy apps on your phone.
@@PointsOnly I think the waterproofness is mitigated by a UA case, but absolutely nothing gets away from your very salient point about the proper sat nav unit being more accurate and not dependent on a data connection, which is really handy when you're properly in remote areas isn't it? Happened to me down in Cornwall last year, resorted to whipping the TomTom out!
Looks tidy that does :). i'll go see Mike and get one myself at some point when i get next bike, I have the Zumo 345LM on the VFR but i'll leave that set up as it is.
Hi Ricky sorry to trouble you I have a new Africa adventure sport I see on your video about installing Garmin sumo xt on your old bike was above the dash on your new bike it is on the handle bar is that the best place. Many thanks. Ps keep the videos coming the best on UA-cam
@@RichyVida thanks for getting back to me I have ordered the bar mount .I must be one of the oldest Africa twin adventure sport at 75 years old ,many many thanks for all your videos
How is it with your field of view? It's extremely difficult to tell from the camera views in the video if the Zumo blocks your view of the road and traffic.
Isn’t there a switched connector in the front, just behind the bottom of the windscreen? So you wouldn’t have to route it all the way to the ezCAN…? Also not having to use one of the channels in the CAN.
Hm… Maybe I am wrong here. I might be mixing the pre 2020 with post 2020, but there should be an ACC 6 pin connector on the same lead as the speedometer/dash main connector. Very close to the speedo connector, just a few cm shy of that connector it self. I think, from memory, it is actually labelled ACC. It is a switched connector. Not sure about the capacity, in terms of amps, but more than a GPS would need.
hi, i just got my african twin adventure sports 2025 and was going to do something similar like you. did you need to remove the side fairings to route the cable to the front seat area?
@@RichyVida Good man!!! Great looking sat nav set up. Have the old Zumo 345LM myself & I;ve covered 20k miles with no issue. Just set her to avoid tolls & motorways and happy days.
Hello there, you are doing a great and good job, I have a small question for you, I sell my BMW but I still have a GPS Navigator 6, and now I have buy a same bike like yours, and I would like to know how can I connect my GPS in that bike, I mean what kind of connection I have to use?? You would think that such a capable bike would have a decent sat nav as standard. I've the 2017 AT with a lot less tech so I use the wireless charging quad lock and use my phone as the sat nav as and when I'm lost, easy peezy lemon squeezy.

I asked Honda main dealer same question, yes you can! Or the 12v socket!
Crakin bit o' navi kit! I'd be tempted to send power to the AT TFT display via a separate SW, but the dedicated GPS brings other advantages. I've found that sat navs don't zap your battery all that much.
Your Garmin makes my TomTom Rider 550 look prehistoric, so much user friendly and easier to use over TomTom. Screen is bigger and clearer than mine..
It not easier to use then the TomTom. I prefer the Zumo XT but it definetly is more complicated and more quirky then the TT is.
And I just got rid of my old Zumo 396LM which was terribly slow. The main question is - can you quickly see the whole route planned? I mean quick zoom out to judge if the route makes sense and to make some adjustments. It was simply not doable on the old one.
You can, but it’s not as quick to zoom out as a smartphone.
Hi Andy
I moved it because 1; it vibed too much and 2; the givi mount was rubbish and actually snapped.
Cheers.
No, it’s moved down to the bars. Wouldn’t have it up there again
@@RichyVida many thanks Rich, appreciate you taking the time to reply. Am test riding the AT tomorrow, really looking forward to it 😃
Lovely set up that Richy
Great bits of kit. Do yourself a favour and spend a couple of hours at home going through all the options. There's things that you'd probably miss just getting used to it riding. 👍
Oh and myrouteapp integration makes using it even better. 👌
The only downside I've found it that the detailed satnav maps (birds eye) seem to add quite a processing load.
If you decide to order one, tell Steve (the owner) I sent you, he’ll look after you 👍
@@RichyVida thanks for the Imformation
I believe you have the touratech lockable mount ? But what bracket are you using to to fix everything.
Now that looks amazing. Great job
Can you walk us through your vlogging setup? I can't get my go pro right on my helmet. Your framing is really nice. Mine is Always not centered. What go pro helmet strap do you use?
I made my own.. I’m planning this soon actually 👍
Fantastic! Will wait for that 🙏
looks a great bit of kit, would be a bit concerned about fixing bracket, could passable cut through with tin snips? just saying somthing to think about when leaving bike unattended
Or get a smaller 'bullet' cam to stick there tucked behind the left side of the windscreen?
beautiful, it's just a shame that such an attachment is not possible with my Honda NT1100, I don't want to mount it on the handlebars
I have one myself its good. Set up looks fabulous.
Been using Garmin on my GS they're very good, when doing Europe I premap routes on me laptop using Kurviger, load 10+ days of routes
The Zumo XT is a great unit, the only things I don’t like:
-You can not use the Phone assistant (Siri on IOS). To make calls you have to use the Zumo (make sure that you gave permissions in the Bluetooth configs).
-The music in longer trips, streaming from your phone, stops working without reason.
Other than that, I love it.
Add your music to the Garmin, it will then stream to your headset, only interrupted by direction instructions.
Great technical video Rich. Fabulous set up, looks the biz. Better place for the go pro? Top stuff as always. Thank you 👍
Xt is a great bit of kit but has its moments with connection at times .
I don’t Louise. :-/
@@RichyVida No worries. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Haha great comment and, to a degree, I agree! I too, like to see just where I am in relation to everything, and take myself off wherever I fancy at the time. Still a great bit of tech to have installed 👍
Wait till you go on a long trip. It will automatically swap the side menus based on what it thinks you need and it’s normally pretty spot on.
Thats a very nice satnav screen, I have the Garmin Zumo 590 which I use in my car also which isn't as pretty as yours but I rather use my Garmin over the inbuilt satnav in my Audi.I like where you mounted it, very safe keeping your eyes level ahead and in easy reach.
great overview , thinking about getting this for my Yam world raid will be great for a planned scotland trip👍👍
Don’t get this mount ^^ it’s rubbish!
Only last a few weeks
Great Video Richy. Where did you purchase the Gigi mount from. ?
From a Givi store on EBay
@@RichyVida fantastic, thanks mate. I’ll check eBay out 👌🏼😎
That looks like a good solution EXCEPT that its location blocks the view forward in your video.
@@paulfirth7563 thanks for the info Paul.
Great looking setup. Like the idea of that locking mount. 👍
Unfortunately the locking mount costs more then the GPS..
Stupid question, why didn't you run the supply for the zumo from the 12V acc socket connector on the left side of the dash? Or from the ignition switch. Much simpler
Simpler than a device tucked out of the way? Keeping the 12v socket free for powering camera? EZCan couldn’t be simpler!
@@RichyVida i was meaning tapping into the circuit at the socket for the supply to the zumo, leaves the socket there ( if fitted on your model)
The Big Fella is looking great. Cant help thinking that vision might be compromised with the Zumo covering the screen. Whats the vision like ?
My vision isn’t affected at all. The camera’s is, slightly.. :-/
Richy, I am taking delivery of my 2021 ATAS soon and would like to know which screen and what tint you have on the Big Lad. Thanks mate 👍
It’s the Ermax Sport with light smoke. Congratulations 👍
@@RichyVida so true mate and when I start making some bigger tours outside of the one-day trips I might need to consider the Garmin for sure!
Richy, If I recall you produced a video showing how you relocated your Garmin XT from a above the TFT to a position lower down on the bike’s handlebars in the central position. Is it still available or have I got it wrong and did you did it vice versa to what you have in this video?
Sorry, only just seen this.
No, I relocated to the bars on a nice solid mount instead of this silly wobbly Givi mount. 👍
@@RichyVida Hi Richy, Thanks, but you used a lockable Touratech mount to actually clamp the Garmin XT in did you not?
Apple CarPlay on my car plays about sometimes and that’s with the genuine apple cable that comes with the phone connecting them up, Thankfully the V Strom doesn’t have such luxuries as that so I’ll just stick with my old iPhone and calimoto lol
I love my XT great piece of kit, I would of liked to have placed my XT where you have on my ATAS, but heard a few reports of vibration in that position, so I ended up using the Touratech mount on the centre of the handlebars works really well and looks good. Have you experienced any vibrations in that position?
Not that I’d be concerned about?
I’m having it installed by Traxxion Dynamics in Atlanta on my Goldwing
Looks tidy that does :). i'll go see Mike and get one myself at some point when i get next bike, I have the Zumo 345LM on the VFR but i'll leave that set up as it is.
Hi Ricky sorry to trouble you I have a new Africa adventure sport I see on your video about installing Garmin sumo xt on your old bike was above the dash on your new bike it is on the handle bar is that the best place. Many thanks.
Ps keep the videos coming the best on UA-cam
The mount I had up top turned out to be rubbish. The new mount on the bars is solid and free from vibrations 👍
Actual view not at all. Camera view, yes. It’s no longer there.
Isn’t there a switched connector in the front, just behind the bottom of the windscreen? So you wouldn’t have to route it all the way to the ezCAN…? Also not having to use one of the channels in the CAN.
Serious?! Hahaha
@@RichyVida What…? 😊 am I missing something…?
Having checked, there’s no switch, unfortunately
Hm… Maybe I am wrong here. I might be mixing the pre 2020 with post 2020, but there should be an ACC 6 pin connector on the same lead as the speedometer/dash main connector. Very close to the speedo connector, just a few cm shy of that connector it self. I think, from memory, it is actually labelled ACC. It is a switched connector. Not sure about the capacity, in terms of amps, but more than a GPS would need.
Expensive bits never end
You were saying something about 4 circuits and allocation of 4amps to a device....do you have a programmable device handling that for you?
Yes. The Hex EZcan software controls everything. Plug in your laptop, and tell it how you want each circuit to behave. Pretty much as simple as that.
hi, i just got my african twin adventure sports 2025 and was going to do something similar like you. did you need to remove the side fairings to route the cable to the front seat area?
Yes. But I wouldn’t recommend fixing above the screen as i did here. Terrible mount, and vibes all over the place before it snapped.
Hey Richy....where's the rest of your Picos Trip videos? Looking forward to these.

Hi. I’m not sure as never heard anyone do that? I can’t see why it wouldn’t work. I guess you could hard-wire as normal?
@@RichyVida I tried today but something going wrong ( it doesn't work) I don't know what but I will see tomorrow, thanks for your answer✌️
You would think that such a capable bike would have a decent sat nav as standard. I've the 2017 AT with a lot less tech so I use the wireless charging quad lock and use my phone as the sat nav as and when I'm lost, easy peezy lemon squeezy.
Do you have video or instruction for the givi fairing bracket? Install
No, and don’t bother. It only lasted 10 minutes before breaking. Not very good at all and definitely not worth the cost to buy it!
Hi Richy, that looks the dogs now… noticed the rear bracket changed colour… did you spray it black?
No not yet?
