Making your voice break like he did is very dangerous and it has to be done very carefully, and if you are doing it, do it intentional and focused. Otherwise, you'll just sound flat and like you can't sing, or you are a 14y/o boy whos balls are about to drop.
yes, absolutely it can be dangerous if you don't manage your breath correctly!
@@RockYourBestVocals Absolutely, and just as a point you were making, he was usually relaxed and definitely in control vocally. I learned in the studio that alot of the vocals that are like a release to use as listeners, screams and hard singing, it's actually the restraint that makes it powerful. When producing someone singing it, you are pulling hard back on their reigns to compell the performance you are after for that. It's fasincating the environment, atmosphere, the treatment of an artist produces and draws out of them a performance you need to capture for a piece. It's a beautiful thing. I believe kurt and Nirvana in general were very producible. This was Steve albino too, which is something to consider. Two very special people were in that room.

Funnily enough I am trying to sound like George Harrison because I've got a gig with a Beatles tribute band called 'BertonCrab' and I am either going to be George Harrison or Paul McCartney (likely George) I've never seen 'how to sing like George Harrison' on UA-cam before and I need help to get there. You don't realise how much I need you. (you get the pun? hahaha!)
