Chez Longue A kind of couch,
Chaise lounge 😉
I know this is late but I think DaVitches would be a funny community name
The bird’s conversation gets me every time. So simple but brilliant.
"Why not change their hearts like he did Pharaoh's ?" What a great observation !
Because the God of the Bible isn’t real.
After the waters receded, it would have been misery. All those dead bodies rotting away in the sun. The bugs would have been horrible!
Actually corpses are bio degradible. They are good for the soil.
Well the oxygen content alone from all that rain would be enough to kill almost every living thing on earth, even if you were inside a wooden boat
There were only two of each bug left anyway 😂😂😂
Left to bacteria which would also be down to low levels it would take avery long time, As the bacteria increased their numbers to cope I would not like to be around it , The stink alone would knock you dead,
What do you mean the water recedes? Where to?
You’ll have to watch Karl Pilkington on “ An Idiot Abroad.” Or if you can find Ricky’s animated series...his laugh is crazy!
Just any of Karl’s interviews for that matter 🤣🤣
You Have Got To Watch Him With Karl !!!
SeeTree One of the best laughs I've heard.
And you'll neeeeveeerrr sea an old man Eton maaaaaaarsss ba ba ba
@Karl Papp how can you compare an idiot abroad with mock the week. Two completely different things
Usually I don’t like reaction channels but I really like yours! Keep it up man looking forward to watching more of your stuff.
It's a pleasure to listen to this guy. He is intellegent and informed, and he appreciates comedy. I like his thoughts. Unlike most of the people who make reaction videos, just to amaze the audience with ignorance. There are a lot of genuanely stupid people out there, who seems to live in a cave or ... I can't explain it. Like where were you your whole life?! What did you do?! Ok, I get it, you can't exactly make yourself genius, but sometimes there are people out there who speak as if they never read a newspaper or watched news, let alone read a book.
I can’t like bc it’s 69
4:00 "whys god not have colour"
The most Philosophical question ever posed to man
Coz the write forgot to fucking colour him in
Ricky's interpretation of Noah's ark killed me! 😂
Devon, just ran across your channel, randomly, and you rock, even when you're just laughing. =) Cheers, mate. =)
Chaise lounge, a recline couch. Imagine the Roman emperor Nero being fed grapes. It's THAT piece of furniture. Ricky pronounces it in French.
*4.6 billion years ago, god first made the Earth and Sky and said unto the people:*
“That’s £55 a month including SkyCinema and SkySports for 6 months and £90 thereafter.”
If earth was made by EA
It should be noted that SkyTV trademarked the word "Sky" so they can sue god and bibles for using that word.
@@imadsolh8276 that would make a good sketch
Hey brother, i found your channel today and subscribed soon after. I've seen hundreds of these reaction videos in the past but yours really stand out. They have some kind of natural honesty to them and it really works. Keep up the good work and happy new year from the U.K ✌
Thank you for that
YES! I love you! As one atheist to another! You get it!!! Much love and peace.
"A chaise lounge" is what the fish was showing the other fish at the antique shop
It's a sofa/chair, a piece of furniture.
Ooooooh shit!!! The raven and the dove!!! Bruuuuuh, that was probably the first "the black guy dies first in the movie" thing! That shit's been going on for ages then!!!
Jesus christ man, I keep coming in after a few beers after football (soccer) and you have new vids. ;) On a serious note I really like them, keep it up mate.
"change their hearts like he did to the Pharaoh." that is a very good point dude. I never thought of that. =)
It’s 430 in the morning and I can’t sleep. I’m watching your videos and am laughing so hard I really can’t sleep. 2 hours into your videos and now I’m more awake than ever. Lol.
Great reaction to a great routine. It's a cause of endless frustration, hilarity, sadness -- take your pick -- that so many adults here in America still take this immoral rubbish seriously in the 21st century.
Its only rubbish if you read it all literally and have no context or understanding of why our ancestors wrote mythologies. They're more valuable than most tv shows and books released.
Aequo Animo I'm not condemning mythology that attempts to explain things which ancient cultures didn't understand. The problem to which I'm referring is that millions of Christians, Muslims, and Jews take their myths completely literally and seriously, and the world is a sorrier place because of it. The Noah story in particular highlights the offensive notion that humankind is separate from the animal kingdom, created by a nasty and capricious God entity. I see nothing worthwhile in repeating it.
I guarantee you criticize everyone who says Islam is a bogus Death cult huh?
@@aequoanimo7150 can you explain the context then? Most Christians seem to think it's factual.
@@petewalsh764 I'm not sure you've spoken to "most" christians. Personally I think giving each other titles such as christian and Muslim are pointless and unnecessary. Explaining the importance and context of the flood myths that you can find all over the globe is too much for a youtube comment. Im just saying don't judge so harshly.
Technically speaking, if the Noah ark story were to happen the fish most likely wouldn't survive, because all the salt water and fresh water would mix, and no fish would be able to survive since they're not suited for the environment. Some fish are in fact suited to migrate to/survive in both fresh and salt water, but not in any type of water. A salt water fish most likely wouldn't survive in the dead, and bull shark (which can travel up the river in relatively fresher water) wouldn't survive in a regular fresh lake.
Nothing would survive. The amount of oxygen from 40 days of rainfall would make our atmosphere unbreathable
So you use science to support god, something science has proven to be unlikely there.
But then the fish at the antique store joke wouldn't work.
I have never watched a reaction channel before. I am enjoying your content. Subbed.
Gervais is hilarious.
I saw this live, got tickets to the show, not a massive fan of the guy but he did good on the night, really enjoyed it.
The fish looking in the flooded antique shop. a chaise longe is one of those sofas with a back and just one end kinda thing.
I was about 8 when, in 2nd grade we were taught about how we came from apes, and this just hit me funny-- whose telling the right story. In my later years, I became engrossed with science and more and more questioned the bibles account of our origins and of course the whole, we are innately sinners that needed salvation for our transgressions---
Or did we?
It felt like I was just being intimidated by this theology-- For What? Anyways, love hearing someone lambast the bullshit, so thanks for show casing Rick's stuff, and appreciate your input as well. ☺👍🌈🌈🌈🌈
I love to see an African American guy giving opinion on UK comedy. We are closer than some may think.
Logic once again from Ricky. Free your mind's people!. ✌ from London.
Chaise Longue (or Chez Long) is just a type of lounging chair. Usually posh/french, or antique.
Great reaction. We need more DaVinci Reacts to Ricky and Karl Pilkington
He cast Adam and Eve out of the garden, and cursed humanity to toil and die forever, for eating from the tree of knowledge....
As though wanting to know things, particularly the difference between right and wrong, is the worst thing you can do.
It is, as it means losing your innocence. Knowing right and wrong means you know wrong as wrong, e.g. you can deliberately be evil (whereas e.g. animals can't be evil, they just do stuff). That's the idea anyway.
@@foljs5858
Lol anyone who says animals can't be evil, has never had a cat
Foljs: So knowing wrong means you might be deliberately evil. But surely not knowing wrong means man would still do evil and wouldn't give a damn. Plus it might be more widespread without the knowledge of wrong.
Eve never knew she was doing wrong either
Doesn't the Bible say something to the effect of ignorance is not an excuse for sin?
I like watching your videos... but i love more how our British human gets taken so literally by Americans (the toucans probably don't mind walking cut they can fly) ......... haha
Well, as an American, I do take your British humans literally... although I'm not sure why I need to take people *literally.* I believe you meant to say humor. But I'm sure it's hard to concentrate with all those immigrants trying to take over your country. **evil grin** Yeah, we've got the same problem; A twat-in-charge. **smiles and waves to the UK**
Humour*
The Toucans walking is a reference to the name of a pedestrian (and cyclist) road crossing lights - Toucan (Two can) - which may be lost on non-Brits. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toucan_crossing
I enjoyed laughing at this again - this time with you
hilarious.. after that you reacted to his monologue's 2010-2012. You can still react to Ricky Gervais Hosting Golden Globes 2016 or Ricky's videos with Karl Pilkington.
Chaise Longue - A chaise longue (/ʃeɪz ˈlɒŋ, tʃeɪz-, -ˈlɒ̃ɡ/;[1] French: [ʃɛz lɔ̃ɡ], "long chair") is an upholstered sofa in the shape of a chair that is long enough to support the legs.
In modern French the term chaise longue can refer to any long reclining chair such as a deckchair. A literal translation in English is "long chair". In the United States the term lounge chair is also used to refer to any long reclining chair.
A chaise lounge (what the fish looks at in the window) is a poolside reclined long chair.
If you can find the best of Eddy Izzard. When he was young and on top form, he could have you in tears of laughter.
That's Jeff Vader!
I tried to find a reaction of this video yesterday and there wasn’t any and then next day you react to it! You’ve certainly gained a subscriber
Noah .. call it Missed the Boat!
A chaise lounge is a type of sofa that only goes up on one end that you sort of recline on.
Pull up the interviews of Karl Pilkington by Ricki Gervais and Steven Merchant. Karl is a character and has an interesting view of life - he kind of lives in his own world.
If you look closer at the pictures in Rickys book, of the animals getting on the boat, and the when they got off after the waters receded. 14:33 The two lions have manes... Lioness's don't have them.... ;)
Good video. The best Ricky Gervais stand up for me is still his first: Animals. Glorious comedy.
You seem like a cool guy man 👍 great channel
Humans: build a tower probably half the size of the Empire State in hopes of reaching heaven
God: No.
Humans: Build rockets and go to the moon
God: Ok that cool
Another brilliant comedian.
I was 8 as well when I clearly stopped believin'... Lol
Great choice. 👍🏻
I watched a documentary on the Bible. There is a belief it's actually written over a 1000 years by 2 main Authors. The writing style ( languages change over generations) has 2 main styles and on top of that it has 2 different time frames on the flood and birds linked to those language types.
"chaise longue" - a long seat with an upright back for reclining
Chaise lounges.(French) Literally chair lounge,
A "Chaise lounge" is french for Lounge Chair. But more fancy, expensive fabric and for indoor use. Sort of a very fancy sofachair. ☺
*chaise longue
Still fools believe
sadly
+robbie g-- I know right!!!😳
Sometimes i'm talking to someone who seems ok then they start talking about God or asking me if i've found Jesus. It makes my skin crawl. At these times i often quote Dylan Moran: "I wouldn't let it into my heart. I wouldn't let it into my fucking garden. I'd shoot it on sight".
love it
+ci rob assuming you aren't just a troll how do you reach that conclusion?
A chaise longue is a fancy pants couch.
14:23 Did anyone happen to notice that there were 2 male lions in that book instead of a male and female????
1:55 - video begins
Chaise Lounge...Now you got it.
Can see a big problem with the lions trying to repopulate the earth!
13:25 'chaise longue' - its a french word for old french style furniture; Its kinda like a sofa/chair that you can also recline on, it was quite often used by the French Upper Classes at the turn of the century but predates this to ancient Eygypt.
I guess in the US you're more likely to find one in a psychoanalysts surgery - often used in regression/hypnosis etc.
Chaise longue is French antique chair
Because he was black, OMG I nearly fell on the floor laughing🤣😂🤣😂
If you think there is something messed up about the Garden of Eden story, You should know it was God's second attempt at finding Adam a suitable partner. - He was first married to a woman names Lilith.
13:20 I had to look it up.
chaise longue:
n. A reclining chair with a long seat that supports the outstretched legs. From French: chaise, "chair" + longue, "long."
(The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 4th Edition)
It was a working-class thing in Britain in the 70s and 80s. Just a fancy-looking chair that people thought made them look a bit posh, but they were usually cheap shite. Lots of old working-class people still have them.
Raskolnikov32 I don't know what neighbourhood you're in, but a proper chaise lounge originated in France in the early 1700s (although the same concept was used in ancient rome and egypt) and an antique chaise lounge (King Louis XV for instance) is worth upwards of almost 10K. LOL cheap knockoffs in your neighbourhood maybe ...but come'on, you didn't know that? LOL
Jesus Christ, Hilary.
I don't know where to start: your hubris born of ignorance or your twat attitude.
Look, mate, when Ricky talks about a chaise lounge in an antique shop, he's not talking about one Caligula had a wank on. Ricky's a working-class English boy growing up in the 70s - a time when working-class people had a taste for middle-class decor: everyone wanted a piano, a window-box, that painting of that Chinese woman, fancy plates, and a chaise lounge.
Ricky's chaise lounge is the chaise lounge of Del-Boy, it is not the chaise lounge of Louis XIV; the cultural baggage associated with that word, when Ricky uses it, is the cultural baggage of that time and era, not 18th bloody century France.
Twat.
You are a sensitive wee thing aren't you Raskolnikov? Awww poor mannie; can't communicate with women unless you degrade them. Rusty didn't know what a chaise lounge was; I gave him the accurate description.
You thought you were schooling a lesser mind but you got owned.
How embarrassing for you.
Then instead of apologising, you just randomly pulled the sexism card.
Oof, what a fucking embarrassment of a person you are.
Came to scoff.
Got owned.
Cried sexism.
What an utter fucking embarrassment of a person.
What a Twat.
Tip for you: If you're never rude to strangers you think are beneath you, then you'll never face the embarrassment of being smacked down like you just were by one who is above you.
You make good videos. Thanks
Jim Gaffigan - Holiday Tradition.
What an impatient deity.
You're good man, keep it up.
He is on the game show "Child Support" He talk to the kids seems like a good Guy :)
You would love Carl Pilkington. Simplest man of all time. Look him up.
Watch videos of Ricky Gervais and Carl Pilkington together, the animated podcast especially
This is far the best treatment of the ark story.
A "chaise longue", for those wondering is French for "long chair" I guess or "deck chair". It's what you use to get a tan at the beach, usually. I mean, you can fuck on it if you want too, but it's not the intended purpose.
My favorite is Adam and eve just because when they had children whom did the children Mary and where did they come from.
We first had all people descended form Adam and Eve and later everyone descended from Noah and his wife. No wonder humanity has so much problems...
Chaise Longue is like a sort of a sofa or a couch mate.
I think he let that "rainbow being a symbol of peace" thing go too easily. I mean it's like USA dropping a nuke on Japan, and then go 'we'll put a giant monument of a nuke up to remind you of PEACE and our love for you".
Not to mention all the crosses laying around to remind Jesus
I love our humour! 🇬🇧
He was born in 1961, so he's 57.
He looks damn good for his age.....in nice shape.....LOL
The fish says " that's a chaise longue" or long seat from the French.
Love your channel! Think you are really funny! Total agree with what you are saying!
Perfect Ricky killing God.......AWESOME!!
Big fan of your videos.
'It starts with the books, then the candy, then the blow jobs' DUDE! LMFAO, well you're not wrong!
"Cuz he was black....." Priceless !!!!
a chaise lounge is a type of sofa/day bed.
13:25 chaise longue is a lounge chair in the states.
Just love your reaction)))
Chaise lounge ......a sofa used to be called a fainting couch
Check out Eddie Izzard and his interpretation of Noah's Ark - hilarious!
A chaise longue is an antique sofa that you can recline on one side of
A chaise longue is a fancy couch.
Eddie Izzard has some good bits. I don't if there is any new material from him, but the old stuff is gold.
Fantastic. More Ricky please. Ricky and Liam Neeson from "life's too short".
Aah you cut it short, Karl also said that the ark was so big, part of it would be a rough neighbourhood 😂
Also, where did the water all go? 🤔
you should check out sam kinison. he was a preacher before becoming a standup comic and actor. he goes into one of his southern baptist preaching rants and it's epic. classic
As an atheist, I'm sure you've heard of Aron Ra. Not the greatest orator but he's intelligent and his stuff is thoroughly researched and sourced.
He's got a video series completely debunking the Noah's Ark theory through each of 7 or 8 scientific fields. And all the info he uses comes from creationist scientists.
It's not comedy, and it probably wouldn't make a great reaction video series but just for you, you might really enjoy it.
I'm very familiar with Aron Ra. I may react to something from him in the future.
@@DevonDaVinci That would be awesome. In the meantime I hope you enjoy the debunking Noah's Ark playlist that he has. I'll give a link to the playlist here in case you decide you want to check it out for yourself. It's very good!

Chaise longue is a type of chair. Backed and with one raised side.
You should watch his stand ups you'd enjoy them. Fame is a great one
DaVinci’s Inquest.
I think you should react to a Christopher Hitchens video..but I just dont know what the best piece would be to introduce you to, if you have not had exposure to his works yet.
Hitchens and Fry vs some catholic goobers is good with the news going on. weird calling it news when everybody knew this has been going on for years
Probably one of his early visits to Firing Line with William F. Buckley, like the one where they analyze his book "Blood, Class and Nostalgia: Anglo-American Ironies". It's a good episode from fairly early in Hitchen's works. It deals with the comparative roles of the U.S. and Great Britain in world politics and economy. The analogy explored is between the new (U.S.) as ancient Rome to the old (Great Britain) as ancient Greece.
I've seen a lot of his videos, just not his longer debates.
any video with the 100000 years of heavens indifferece argument
Was hitchens ever on fox? Dawkins wouldn't be bad either
"Why not change their hearts like he did Pharoah?" (04:39) By killing all the first born children, you mean? Why not - with him being all powerful - just change Pharoah's heart? Why kill kids to make your point? But then this is the god who drowns all humans and tells the one family he spares that they will have to now repopulate the Earth through incest? Oh, of course, he'd done that already with Adam, Eve, Cain and Abel, hadn't he? Religion is not as amusing as Ricky.
Billy Connolly is a must one of the best comedians
Chaise = chair in French, Longue = long... basically a lawn chair
what??? Surely you mean long chair
