Fun fact, the earth didn't have a "sky", or atmosphere, in the early days. Something called The Great Oxygenation Event happened due to the single-celled ancestor of modern trees farting out oxygen as a waste product. Eventually, the amount of oxygen built up so much that it caused a mass extinction. Nothing lived on oxygen back then and most things found it toxic. But the new oxygen-rich atmosphere allowed for complicated forms of life, like humans, to evolve.

I never really like political or religious humor. Whatever side the humor is on you have to turn your mind off to make the jokes work. Do not thin about what Christianity or even the book he is reading actually teaches. It is hard for me to get beyond how in both political and religious humor the truths from politics or the religion are ignored and a strawman or caricature of the view is where the humor lies. I try to just let it go as humor but some actually take Gervais' or Carlin's or John Stewart's jones as actually intelligent. If no one took the jokes seriously then maybe I would be okay with just letting my mind go.

Big bang cosmology doesn't actually say anything about something coming from nothing, and it doesn't say anything about an explosion either.
But getting back to the myth of Noah's ark. A global flood has been conclusively disproved. The story is plagiarized from the Epic of Gilgamesh, which itself is plagiarized from Atra hasis, which is based on a real flood of the Iraqi plains.

@@speciesspeciate6429 So it came from something as opposed to nothing then? Who put the 'something' there in the first place? Sorry but you claim the flood was disproven, I would argue the big bang has been disproven, people believe what they want to believe at the end of the day

@@MartinArscott1 The energy was already there. The big bang describes the change of energy states from a hot dense state to a cooler sparse state.
There are hypotheses about where the energy came from, but the truth is that no one knows yet. The prevailing hypothesis is that the energy always existed, because it can neither be created or destroyed. See the 1st Law of Thermodynamics. Energy can change states, but it can't be created or destroyed.
One hypothesis is that it came from nothing. But that's not part of the Big Bang Theory because only that which has been demonstrated to be factual is elevated from a hypothesis to a theory.
It's not an explosion because it's not a chemical or nuclear reaction. It's correctly defined as the expansion of space time. You might not think there is a difference between explosion and expansion but there is, and that's why scientists use specific language.
Who put it there? No one. Or at least there's no evidence that it was a person or being of some sort.
BTW, you can literally detect the big bang with a good enough radio telescope.
