    Hey guys, just wanted to thank you for posting these videos. They've been of great help for me! I'm not very good and play a few times a week and I gotta say that your explanations on effects, serves and strokes have given me a much better approach to table tennis. Keep your tutorials coming! Greetings from Argentina!
    PS: I feel more comfortable playing with my backhand and Jeff's is dreamlike! I'm trying to copy his technique. And Alois, I've seen the video in which you beat an Italian guy, you were amazing!

    Hi William,
    He's been practicing it for years! He explained it like throwing the ball up rather than rolling it over from side to side. Try thinking of it like that and seeing how it goes. Good luck.
    Cheers,
    Jeff.

    As long as you have a decent bat, you can generate spin. It's all about having a fast brushing contact on the ball!

  • @pingskills

    Hi Michal Zajac,
    The key to getting the ball bouncing back over the net is generating lots of backspin. To do this you need a decent bat that has grippy rubber. Then you need to have a fast brushing contact coming underneath the ball to generate the backspin. Before trying this see if you can hit the ball onto the floor with backspin and have it roll back to you. If you can do this you can get backspin and then can start to try it on the table. Good luck!

    • @pingskills
      @pingskills  8 років тому

      +firendable It's good you can get it to work on the floor. Now at the table concentrate on getting the same contact with the ball and at first don't worry about getting it on the table but just worry about generating the spin. Keep practicing!

    It's things like this that make the game interesting to me. Granted, I've never played on anything but a recreational level, and by that I mean family members in my uncle's basement whacking a ball around. I stumbled onto this channel yesterday or the day before and I've been binge watching the videos ever since. One question I have is, what happens if the ball bounces off the hand holding the paddle instead of the paddle but the ball still crosses the net?

    • @pingskills
      @pingskills  8 років тому

      +Explosions & Stuff The ball can come off your hand as long as it is holding the bat and it still counts. You can't hit the ball back without the bat in your hand.

    Hey, Would you give us some exercise to practice at home, only using a bat and ball, with no table, for learning serves? Like producing different kinds of spins!

      Sure, take a look at this for some ideas - www.pingskills.com/tutorials/training-tips/practicing-alone
      And for serving, try serving onto the floor and getting the ball to spin back to you. You can also try serving onto a bed and play around with different types of spin.
