As a complete begginer i'll try to do it. I'll be updating my progress everyday. Started yesterday. Day 1: 2 pieces of 1st color (light blue) Day 2: 4 pieces of 1st color Day 3: 3 pieces of 1st color Day 4: 3 pieces od 1st color Day 5: 1 piece of 1st color (and run out of light blue yarn) Day 6: 2,5 pieces of 2nd color (darker blue, really beautiful color, it looks like blueberry 😻) Day 7: 1,5 pieces of 2nd color Day 8: (almost) 4 pieces of 2nd color Day 9: 4 pieces of 2nd color(+ended the one started day before) Day 10: (i have a problem actually so i'll share it- today i made another 1 piece of dark blue and i run out of the yarn-i'm living in a small town and there are no shops with yarn at all, so as my sister is living in a city i'm giving her money and she's buying me whatever i need, so she did go to the shop on monday but the shop actually run out of this colour too. So i have 13/17 dark blue pieces and can't buy more of this color, so i decided to change the pattern, don't know how right now like i have few ideas but i'd share those tomorrow. But apart from that, my sister bought me light blue yarn so i can finally finish pieces of 1st color ☺️) so day 10: 1 piece of 2nd color and 3 pieces of 1st colour Day 11: i have changed the pattern (i loved yours but sadly can't do it). I was thinking about adding 4th color but i to be honest i didn't want to, so i changed your project a bit and now i have to do 13 squares of dark blue and 19 of 1st and 3rd color. 2 pieces of light blue Day 12: 1 piece of light blue (and ended up finally) and 1 piece of 3rd color which is green Day 13: 2 pieces Day 14: 3 pieces of green Day 15: today i started (and ended) new project. My eyes are exhausted and my spine is crying for help so just i did just symbolically 1 green piece Day 18: i got lost in counting so i gotta say that it's day 18. I ENDED UP DOING ALL THE SQUARES like oh God i'm doing the last one right now 🥹 Day 19: oh god i was sewing together pieces for like more than half a day. I have sewed together all squares for both sleeves actually Day 20: kinda impressed of myself, i sew together all the pieces for both front pannels and my neck is not crying so i'll do a bit for the back pannel so i'll have less to do tomorrow 😗 Day 21: i sew together squares for back piece and did the cuffs (also started a bottom ribbing and realized that i have a little problem but i'll explain tomorrow) day 22: crotcheted the bottom and front ribbing. Problem from yesterday is solved (i run out the yarn i was using for the cuffs and bottom ribbing so i decided to do other color for the front one) but i have another problem today: i'm starting to think that the cardigan is a bit too small for me, like the sleeves are probably too short and like the cardigan is really cropped. So today i'll end up sewing everything together expect the ribbings and then i'll se how it'll be like. Edit: i sew together all the pannels. You know, i'm too lazy to do what i was talking about+ don't have enough of yarn. So as it's 8pm i'll try to end this today Day 23: OK I'M CHANGING MY MIND cardigan is definitely in good size, like i was thinking that it's too short and that sleeves are not long enough but right now i'm sure that it's okay (but i wouldn't mind if the sleeves would me longer because when i'll add cuffs it'l end perfectly when my hand start and i like when the sleeve is longer and IT cover a bit of hand but yeah that's personal thought) I sew the ribbings and soon i'll sew the cuffs to it :) Ladies and gentelmens, i did it!!!! The illustration you made for attaching the cuff to the sleeve was very helpful!! Thanks for taking the time to explain so in depths and share this fabulous pattern!!
@@mehrin5631 hmm I used worsted weight yarn, that or smaller would be good! I think cotton/cotton blend is usually more suitable for clothing but that’s something I’m still learning too😅

I love the in-depth tutorial however I was just wondering about what thickness wool you used and the size of your crochet hook as I am gathering supplies to do this pattern? Again I love it SOOOOOOOO much ❤
Finally a tutorial that explains crochet details. This does a huge difference and it’s the diference between a video and a class. Thank you soo much for this video.
I remember that’s the actual very first video I watched about crochet without even having any material. Here I am, 2 years later, watching it again and finally learning how to crochet !!
Hey. I need a smaller cardigan so would i simply use less than 50 squares (depending on my size) and for the cuffs, smaller measurements and chains. Im new to crochet;)
tip: If you guys don’t have a thick enough needle for chunky yarn, using a hair pin also works, it might just be a little struggle to make sure one of the opening wires(?) doesn’t get caught on the yarn
I'm really excited to try this, thank you for the tutorial 😀. I was wondering what size crochet hook did you use and what ended up being the size of the cardigan ( like the sleeve length and body length?)
After 52 days (I did hiatus this project for a few weeks lmaoo) I’m finally sewing it together Omg. Thank you so much for this in-depth tutorial it’s been very helpful, and the cardigan is so cute!! I did accidentally sew one of my squares portrait-wise rather than horizontal so it’s the odd one out but still cute!
thanks for the tutorial! i finished the project in less than two months, and i am really proud of how it turned out. i'm too insecure to wear it out, but it looks so pretty. i went for a fall/forest colour scheme and it gives it major hoizer vibes.
Girrrrl!!! You gotta wear it! Life is tooooo short to be insecure! I’m glad I took pics of myself wearing all my attempts at crochet, knitting and sewing but I didn’t care! I look at my pics and they bring me joy. Crooked and badly shaped clothes but oh so fun!
Doing this tutorial now, made 14 squares already. So i came back to this video to check how many i eventually need..... WELLLLL, back to crocheting xD see you in another 3 weeks hahaha
If the last stitch of the row is difficult, use a stitch marker! You can slightly tug on the stitch marker to make sure you're crocheting into the correct area and the hook goes in a lot easier =) Markers really help when you're counting large amounts of stitches too ;P
I thought I would update my progress on crocheting this cardigan here because it was about 4 months ago I started this project and my goal is to finish it before summer ends sooo wish me luck!I 🌷12/07🌷 I have finished 29 squares. Currently working on my 30th. 🌷15/07🌷 Done with 34 squares. 17 more to go. 🌷31/07🌷 I have finished 1 square since I updated for the last time because I have in a way been procrastinating. Now I only have 15 and a half square left! 🌷 8/08🌷 12 and a half squares left. We are coming there!!! 🌷17/08🌷 44 out of 51 squares done.
Thank you so much for doing this and I was looking up so many tutorials about making a cardigan and yours was the easiest one. Thank you for drawing some of the example because i am more of a visual learner so thank you so much this really helped and I am going to try this ☺️🙌🏾👏🏾
Ahh I'm so glad the drawings are helpful for you, I was concerned that it'll make ppl more confused *bcs honestly it's no where close to the real thing🤣🤣 I hope your cardigan turns out amazingg!🥰
Of course, you need to! It took me almost 4 days to get the perfect size for my body! I'm so skinny, and if I can get the body size, the sleeve doesn't match, after measuring so much, I get the perfect size! For my body, each square will be 6×7 inches! And I'll need total of 48 squares! I know it's a late reply, you commented this 1 years ago, but hope it can help you if you didn't start making it❤
A tip to recognize the last stitch on each rows is to put stitch markers on the the first and last stitch you make for each row! That way it’s easier to see and you won’t miss any!!
*PSA* So I just started knitting this and realised that I don't have enough yarn! I followed the video and bought 250g of each color (350g of the color I chose to make the ribbing out of) and couldn't make 17 squares of each color! I realised that the yarn shown here is 50g but equals 125m, whereas the yarn I bought (100% Friends Cotton from Hobbii) is also 50g but only equals 75m!! That's a big difference, and now I'm going to have to buy more yarn to complete this project.. sigh. Just thought I'd put this out there for anyone thinking of starting this project - please count how many meters each skein will get you, and don't go just by weight!!
Hi! First of all, thank you for the tutorial, it's very easy to understand it, and really helpful. I was wondering, since I am not going to use the same yarn and crochet size, what is the length of your squares? As soon as I can, I'm gonna make it, and I feel like I'm gonna to do a great job, thanks to you 😉
I saw the other video first and im so happy to come across yours as well because i loved how it looked but since im a complete beginner i couldnt figure out how to make it, so thank you a lot! 🥺💕
So just curious, when you’re starting a new row, you said go into the second stitch, but at the end of the row you’d only have 19 stitches. Then you have to go to the stitch in the previous row to make the row equal to 20 stitches? Wouldn’t it be easier if you just went into the first stitch when you are starting a new row? No hate, your vid is fantastic!!! I’m just wondering. 😊
Ooh I might actually make a version like this! It looks rlly pretty and probably faster than a whole cardigan. But I already started the another full length version so I’ll probably finish that first. Thanks for the inspiration!
i did this in one month, and because i did it for my boyfriend, i changed the pattern to be a full cardigan instead of crop top-like. honestly for a beginner like me its kinda hard navigating the new patterns on your own, by i did it! altho the most surprising thing about this work that ive never seen other people mention is how HEAVY it is. i used the same 5ply milk yarn but i swear it ended up being more than 1kg
I loved it very much! I’m from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷and it’s hard to have tutorials on youtube of fashion cardigan. I tried hard to understand why it doesn’t have the Portuguese subtitles 😩 but I really loved the video and its explanation! 🥰
I just finished mine and Im so happy! I definitely made a lot of mistakes but I'm really proud of myself for sticking it out! I picked greens and soft yellows so I look like moss/the forest! Thank you so much for the tutorial!
Thank you SO much for this tutorial! I’m completely new to crochet, but wanted to tackle a big project. This is the easiest to follow tutorial I’ve seen and makes things seem so much easier! Thank you so, so much. You’re a great teacher and I’m looking forward to your other tutorials ☺️
Just need to attach the ribbing and cuffs and I’m done! Nervous because the sleeves look soooooo long, going to trust the process though :) also my granny squares are a little bigger, because I’m plus size. I didn’t take into consideration that I wouldn’t need longer sleeves though, lol!
Hello, I have a question, I think my paintings are smaller than they should be, I have 10 cm by 10 cm left. I would like to know how much each square should measure (I am using 4mm wool). I say this because from what I see you cover your whole arm with 3 squares, when I have to use 5. I hope you can answer me even though this video was made over a year ago 😁
quick question, what type of yarn do you use and what’s the size of it and the size of the needle? I’ve been trying to find the same yarn brand as yours but I can’t. 😭
Thank you so much! I was gonna crochet a cardigan for my sister once I was done with mine! I was so confused to plan it out because I know how to do it on myself rather than others. When I came across this video I am so much more relieved and happy! Thank you!
Did you end up using all the yarn? Do I rlly need 100g for the ribbing? I wanna make sure how much yarn I'll have to get before doing this, I hope you respond soon🥲 Edit : Btw I can only get 200g of 3 colors I chose so I was wondering if the other 50g was needed
Of one of my colours I only had 200g and I still have some leftovers. Granted I didn’t do the ribbing with that yarn, but I think you might just be ok :-) If u run out of one colour of yarn for the ribbing u could always use one of the other colour’s leftovers; I think that would look cool!
Heyy, I looove this cardigan and the tutorial Is amazing, but I have a question. I don't like how big sleeves look on my body, so I wanted to make them tighter. At the end of the video when you are putting the pieces together each sleeve has 12 squares total: is there a way to make the sleeves smaller so they are a little bit tighter? Maybe making less squares or less rows? I would really appreciate if you could help me ❤️❤️❤️
Tried this almost a year ago but my measurements were wrong so the cardigan was too small and i didn't finish it but i just bought a thicker yarn and I'll give it a try once again! I hope it works this time! Thank you for the tutorial! 🤍
I actually watched the other video and not to be rude but they don’t explain it that good like k found it hard to understand what I had to do but u actually made it make more sense and u explained really good and also the cardigan looks really good, mine is similar to urs but mines pink cream and blue xx
In the first part she didn't go into an I depth explanation But she posted a second part in which she explained everything How to make the squares , how to do half double crochet stitch, how to sew it all together and all that I recommend u shld watch the second part
I definitely wanna try this, but ik I won't get to it before February. I still already watched the entire video, your voice and explanations are just super relaxing to listen to!
OMG, this is exactly what i am looking for 😍. I tried to make it several times but I failed. Your tutorial just point out all of my mistakes. Thanks for your clip. Lov u so much! 😘
Sis thanks for the tutorial. Its vary very helpful...i had a question. Which type of yarn have you used? And once again thank you so so much. Plz just help me out. Can't wait to try.😊
You know how like each side loop is 2 chains, when your sewing do you only sew one chain together or do you sew both chains of the side loops? I hope my question makes sense 😭 Love your video btw, it was so helpful ❤

Ahh I'm so glad the drawings are helpful for you, I was concerned that it'll make ppl more confused *bcs honestly it's no where close to the real thing🤣🤣 I hope your cardigan turns out amazingg!🥰
And how many centimeters should a square be if measured with a ruler??
Hey,,,Can u plz tell what ply of yarn did u use to make this?!!!
Don’t we need measurements for the body size?
Of course, you need to! It took me almost 4 days to get the perfect size for my body! I'm so skinny, and if I can get the body size, the sleeve doesn't match, after measuring so much, I get the perfect size! For my body, each square will be 6×7 inches! And I'll need total of 48 squares! I know it's a late reply, you commented this 1 years ago, but hope it can help you if you didn't start making it❤
@@Asthetic_Ana1How much do you weigh?
@@Asthetic_Ana1if u dont mind, may I know your weight and height?

A tip to recognize the last stitch on each rows is to put stitch markers on the the first and last stitch you make for each row! That way it’s easier to see and you won’t miss any!!
OMGG I didn't even think of that before, thankyouuu!!❤❤
For xxl how many chain do I have to make..? Plz reply
May I know what size hook you use ?
This depends on the size of the yorn you are using.

What brand of yarn do you have?
Mochi
IN LOVE with this tutorial i love how does she explain everything thank you so much!!!
Thankyouuu!!🥰
Is this something for beginners? Haha
Cuz I just start yesterday and I want to do that
YESSS, I made this when I just started crocheting too!🥰
@@stefanieaurelia3480 aw tysm !
If you listened to her when she's mentioning what's needed, she said 250 grams or 5 rolls of these.. So basically, each roll is 50grams..
This is crochet not knit also so maybe if you are knitting this you might need a different amount of yarn compared to crochet
Hi! First of all, thank you for the tutorial, it's very easy to understand it, and really helpful.
I was wondering, since I am not going to use the same yarn and crochet size, what is the length of your squares?
As soon as I can, I'm gonna make it, and I feel like I'm gonna to do a great job, thanks to you 😉
Hii, I'm so glad that it helped🥰 my squares are 13x13 cm. And goodluck on your cardigan!❤
@@stefanieaurelia3480 Thank you very much, and thank you also for your time 🤗

How many grams did you spend for this cardigan?
I saw the other video first and im so happy to come across yours as well because i loved how it looked but since im a complete beginner i couldnt figure out how to make it, so thank you a lot! 🥺💕
No problem, I'm so glad it helped!🥰
Note to my self 23 chains to start and 18 rows and crochet two turn up the work half double crochet! 5:17 need this time
does this work for any types of body?
Same question, my body size is xs or xxs, help please 😢
@@Asthetic_Ana1 It should work!!!! It will be a gorgeous oversized fit if you're into that😊
So just curious, when you’re starting a new row, you said go into the second stitch, but at the end of the row you’d only have 19 stitches.
It took me 2 months to make this cardigan😢 how long does it take you to make the full length version?
Someone knows what tipe of yarn is she using?
Hey, can you also tell me what size crochet hook your using? Tysm
I'm using a 5 mm hook
Would a 4.5 mm hook work for 8 ply yarn?
@@naishamula6879 yess it can, it won't be much different.
Okay tysm for the help, I wish that my cardigan turns out as pretty as yours
Does the size of the hook matters i only have a 4 mm for a weight 4 yarn?
thank you so much for the tutorial!! I'm making this for the holiday so wish me luck >
I'm so glad you decided to make one, good luck to youu!😆❤
How much ply did you used?
can someone tell me the type of the yarn that she used ???
Sorry I’m a bit late it’s 60% cotton and 40% milk fibre but you could probably just find some milk cotton
I usually wear M or L size. So if i want to make the cardigan larger, can i just increase the patch size to 17x17 or 18x18 instead of 13x13?
Yess, you can do that or keep the size the same and make more squares🥰
Do we have to increase the bottom and front ribbing length?
i did this in one month, and because i did it for my boyfriend, i changed the pattern to be a full cardigan instead of crop top-like. honestly for a beginner like me its kinda hard navigating the new patterns on your own, by i did it! altho the most surprising thing about this work that ive never seen other people mention is how HEAVY it is. i used the same 5ply milk yarn but i swear it ended up being more than 1kg
I loved it very much! I’m from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷and it’s hard to have tutorials on youtube of fashion cardigan. I tried hard to understand why it doesn’t have the Portuguese subtitles 😩 but I really loved the video and its explanation! 🥰
Aww thankyouu🥺💖

Is it okay to use 5 ply and 5g. I can't find 200 grams online. Please help 😭😭
Yess you can use any type of yarn
I just finished mine and Im so happy! I definitely made a lot of mistakes but I'm really proud of myself for sticking it out! I picked greens and soft yellows so I look like moss/the forest! Thank you so much for the tutorial!
YAYYY! LOVEEE THE COLOUR COMBO😍😍 I'm so glad I could help in someway❤
I just finished mine but I wish the sleeves were smaller, I love it tho
Did you use pure white or milky white wool?mong bn trả lời câu hỏi của mình😢😊
OMG THANK YOU! 🥰🥰 I’m almost done mine and I used her pattern as well but I’m so grateful that you went in depth for attaching!!
I'm so glad it helped!🥰🥰
And how many centimeters should a square be if measured with a ruler???
Hello, I have a question, I think my paintings are smaller than they should be, I have 10 cm by 10 cm left. I would like to know how much each square should measure (I am using 4mm wool). I say this because from what I see you cover your whole arm with 3 squares, when I have to use 5.
I hope you can answer me even though this video was made over a year ago 😁
This was a really great tutorial, thank you for that!! :)
quick question, what type of yarn do you use and what’s the size of it and the size of the needle? I’ve been trying to find the same yarn brand as yours but I can’t. 😭
Thank you so much! I was gonna crochet a cardigan for my sister once I was done with mine! I was so confused to plan it out because I know how to do it on myself rather than others. When I came across this video I am so much more relieved and happy! Thank you!
Aww that's so sweet🥺 I'm sure your sister would love it!! I'm so glad the tutorial is helpful🥰
how old are you? I dont really know how to measure a cardigan to fit me so I wanna know if your age is close to mine so when I make it it fits
I'm 17, my height is 158 (maybe it'll help hahaha)😉
I just finished it! It's so beautiful, i LOVE it so much! Thanks for the video ♥
No problemm, I'm so glad it helped!🥰
How much ply did you use?
what type or yarn did she use is it 5 ply
hey when you were sewing the panels together, did you only go through the back loops or the whole stitch? also the cardigan looks amazing!
Hii! I went through the whole stich, but you can also go through the front loops only, so that when you turn it over, the stiches wont be visible
Did you end up using all the yarn? Do I rlly need 100g for the ribbing? I wanna make sure how much yarn I'll have to get before doing this, I hope you respond soon🥲
Edit : Btw I can only get 200g of 3 colors I chose so I was wondering if the other 50g was needed
Of one of my colours I only had 200g and I still have some leftovers. Granted I didn’t do the ribbing with that yarn, but I think you might just be ok :-) If u run out of one colour of yarn for the ribbing u could always use one of the other colour’s leftovers; I think that would look cool!
The leftovers aren't the same for each colour, so I'm not sure if 200g is enough. But I think it depends on the tightness of your stiches.
i really loved this tutorial, so perfect
hihiii thankyouu!🥰
Why did your square look bigger than mine.... I did exactly 22 chain.... What yarn did you use?
Same, it’s more rectangular than square with my yarn
@@Angeliked I think because of the hook.... When I started using 3.35mm, it looks more like hers

In the first part she didn't go into an I depth explanation
But she posted a second part in which she explained everything
How to make the squares , how to do half double crochet stitch, how to sew it all together and all that

You know how like each side loop is 2 chains, when your sewing do you only sew one chain together or do you sew both chains of the side loops?
I hope my question makes sense 😭
Love your video btw, it was so helpful ❤
Both are fine, but I usually only sew 1 of the loop so that on the other side the stiches won't be so visible🥰
How many yarn did you use?
Có người Việt nào làm chưa ạ ? Cho em hỏi một số điều với :
What yarn are you using?
So if i knit like in this video will it suit me ? I can not figure it out , or should i make smaller squares ?
If you want it to be oversized, you can follow the size in the video, but if you like it to be fitted to your size then it's best to measure first
what size of hook?
That depends on your yarn, check the label
