Okay because literally every "crochet cardigan tutorial" I've ever seen before this just gave me a little pattern of what the squares were supposed to look like and she ACTUALLY taught me how to make the squares!!! This is literally the best cardigan tutorial I've seen so far and made making my cardigan so easy. I will definitely be coming back to this channel!!!
OMG i'm beyond grateful that you found it useful!! That was a mood bost for me >.
Wow thx this make me feel happy cuz I think I found the tutorial finally😂🎉
@@dexterousdorothy4691inshallah u will be rewarded with jannah for helping her
this made me rlly happy because i was gonna make a daisy one but the squares were so complicated and small but these are easy and big with a proper pattern fot the squares aking it easy to follow! I only had to watch you do the square once to memorise it - will come back to this channel as you earned another sub :)
I'm so glad you found this video helpful

Thank youu
Will u please tell me how much yarn i want for this project
Thank you for sharing, your tutorial is also beautifully explained. Look forward to more crochet videos 😍
Thank you so much!! My mom is supposed to teach me how to do this stuff but she did it a long time ago and she forgot this helped both of us!!
I'm glad you both found it helpful!
This is so pretty keep going !💗

Honestly this is so amazing. I actually LEARNED how to do this. Every other video has confused me and I’m a visual learner. I need to SEE it and she did that. Officially a new subscriber ❤ I know I’ll actually learn when I watch your videos ❤
Im so glad you found it helpful, I'm a visual learner too and I know the struggle lol
😳 this is the kind of pattern i've been looking for! thank you so much!!! 💙
You’re welcome 😊
@@dexterousdorothy4691 i have this lovely velvety purple yarn, 2 skeins of it, and that specific color was discontinued by the creator of the yarn. i've wanted to find a good baggy cardigan or sweater to use it for, and saw this, and realized it was the perfect pattern style i wanted! i'm definitely gonna get more solid colors of that yarn, if they have any more, and make this 💙

Hi!!! I’ve been searching all over and this is the most perfect tutorial I found mashallah (iykyk what this means haha) I was wondering if I could make all the little squares the same color, basically the whole cardigan one color lol. I would search for a tutorial that had a one color cardigan but this video shows exactly what to do when to do. Greaaaatt job🥰

Love this!! It’s very detailed and simplified for beginners like myself! You’re extremely skilled and this tutorial was a wonderful display of your abilities. If I may ask, how would the pattern look if I were only using two colors?
Thank you so much

I plan on making this but with pumpkin granny squares for fall, how much yarn did you end up using of each color?
Edit: Nevermind I found one of your replies ^^
Love this tutorial! The instructions are very easy to understand. Would it be possible to ask about the measurements of the squares? Thank you
So glad you found it helpful! As for the measurements, your square must measure 15cm in height/weight but if you end up with a rectangle, it doesn't really matter
hii!! i adore this tutorial tysm!! just wanted to ask if the squares for the sleeves are the same size as the other square? thank you again
Yes all the squares have the same measurements, and you're welcome
When I got to the middle I got confused because I don't know what do to next but it's a good video and it's clear
Please tell me which par did you find confusing, is it the sewing? i can help and thanks a lot for the support
Wow! Your tutorial is amazing! I just have a few doubts. I'm thinking about making the cardigan with just one color and I wanted to know if it would look good if I did it the same way as the tutorial (with squares) or if it is possible to do it without using squares to make it better... (I'm a beginner)
Also, thank you for making a tutorial like this❤ I hope that one day I will also bring a tutorial for a cardigan similar to this but in just one color.
You gained another subscriber!
Yes you can make it with one color, you'll end up with a unicolor cardigan to match with any outfit!
As for the way you're making it I prefer you stick to the squares method because it's much easier to make and you can modify the height/ width by just adding/taking off squares
And thank you so much ❤️I really found my people with this cardigan tutorial, let me know when you drop that ❤️
@@dexterousdorothy4691 OK! Thank you very much! I'm going to start making it today and I can't wait to see the finished cardigan!
my current project!! im so excited but im only at 14/60 squares😭 i want it done NEOWWWWW!!
I know the struggle TT you can crochet 4 squares a day so you can end them in 15days, wish you luck!!

Omg I thought I'll never meet whose name is the same as mine TT
I like it so much. Also your tutorial is so understandable. I am going to give it try even though i am beginner in crocheting. Could you tell me how many yarns do i need for every color?
I'm so glad you found it helpful! Also it's really worth trying even if you're a beginner you'll easily get used to making the squares, as for the yarn you'll be needing 250grams for each each color (I wored with three colors but you can add or subtract any one you want) good luck

one question, how do you attach not the sleeve cuffs but the other ribbing to the front panels and the collar and the bottom ribbing strip as well? is it the same as attaching all the squares to each other? i’m a beginner and want to make sure before i start attaching it so i don’t mess up my work.
-Front ribbing --> attach each stitch's side of it to one stitch's side of the squares, ie each gap in the side of the ribbing with one gap in the squares since you're working vertically (right bottom --> collar --> left bottom)
-Bottom ribbing --> attach each stitch's side to two or three stitches of the squares as if you're decreasing

Amazing video! I was wondering did you weave in your ends of the squares as you went or all at the end?
I know it's the most unpleasant thing abour crochet but I did weave in the end into the squares right after sewing them together
Thanks so much! I find it strangely satisfying but definitely time consuming
👌👌great video

I’m going to buy yarn
Just one question how can we know the size of ourselves ? So we can do the measurements right ?
Actually this cardigan has a standard size but to give you a clue Im 5'5 tall and I weigh 60kg. Good luck
Hey, quick question. To make the sleeves do we have to fold them in half and saw them that way? Also, do we have to make 2 of the middle ribbing?
After crocheting 16 squares and sewing them together (for each sleeves) take the edges of the piece and sew each stitch with its pair in the other edge, as for the middle ribbing, no you just have to make one long ribbing that you re going to attach to the right, the neck line and all the way through to the left part, I wish I was helpful, its quite difficult to explain it in text lol

can you do a version without using squares pretty please? I want to do a single colour cardigan

great video 😍😍 i'll try to make it for my bff, also can i ask how many balls of yarn do you used?
Just go for it it's worth it! As for the yarn, you'll need 250g of each color, which is equivalent to 5 balls of 50g yarn for each color
Starting today see ya when i finish 😂❤
Okey let me know when you're done XD
I'm on my way to try this if I can find acrylic yarn in my hometown 😅

Hi I just wanted to ask about the measurements of the cardigan cause Im wondering if it will fit me properly. Amazing work btw!!❤
Actually the cardigan looks really oversized on me (I weigh 60kgs) so even if you're a little bit overweight, i think it will fit on you
Super !
Thank you very much!
I love your work! I want to ask how many roll of yarn did you use for this project?
2 of 100g ball and 1 of 50g ball (250g) for each color
How tall is the square in meters? Also I’m SO EXCITED TO MAKE THIS!! YOURE SO SWEET
It measure 15cm in length/width, but if you end up with a rectangle shape (15cm in length ) it's not a big deal, and thank you so much for ur support ❤️

Hii! Im new to this and i know im pretty late to ask,, but im planning on using a 5 ply milk cotton yarn for this project, what size of hook would you recommend for 5ply yarn?
I'd recommend using 3,5 to 4,5mm crochet hook, and good luck trying this out!
Hello! This is such an amazing tutorial, but I had a question. Do you only need 3 chunks of yarn, as you said "250 grams of each"? Will that allow you to finish the whole cardigan?
I'm glad you found it helpful! As for the grams, you need to know that the balls that I showed in the video are only 50 grams each, so I needed to get 5 balls of each color to have 250g (of each color). It depends on the yarn store you're getting the chunks from, they may even have the 250grams in one yarn ball, I hope you understand
@@dexterousdorothy4691 Thank you so much 😄
I had one more question. Is it possible for me to knit the squares instead? just wondering!
Yes I guess it also has its charm esp with the checker board stitch @@ahluye
Hello!
Thankyou for the tutorial, so easy to understand.
I actually a bit confuse about how to sew front part, back part, and the sleeve part. Can you give me a little explanation. Thankyouuuu!
I mean, not sewing each square. But sewing each part.
I dont know how to explain this without sketches but ill do my best, To sew the front part to the back part, start by sewing each stitch of the front part's squares to each stitch of the back part's squares, you will want to start by the 2 horizontal upper right squares of the front part and sew them to the 2 horizontal upper right squares of the back part, then sew the 2 horizontal upper left squares of the front part to the 2 horizontal upper left squares of the back part --> now the cardigan is attached from the shoulder ligne.
Now for the sides you need to sew the 2 vertical right lower squares of the front part to the 2 vertical right lower squares of the back part (sides) and do the same for the left part. At the end you will end up with a hole in each side of the cardigan in which you will sew the sleeves together.
Hello! Thank you for the great tutorial ❤
I just want to ask how do you make holes for buttons?
You're welcome!! Actually if you want to add the buttons it's gonna be a little bit tricky but still you can manage to do that by skipping 2 stitches in the rows you're willing to put the buttons in (in the middle ribbing ofc) I hope I was helpful
I have 1 question please can u answer it as fast as possible cuz i dont have time
Are the squares actually supposed to be squares or like can they be a little un even like one side is a little bigger than the other or do they have to be the same
Actually it doesn't matter if they don't look like straight squares because eventually they're gonna be sewed together which is going to even them up.
@@dexterousdorothy4691 thankyou so much for answering quickly it helped alot!❤
Thank you so much!!! But can I do 2 colors only and make 30 of each??
Yes of course it's all up to you
so, how do you join the sides of the squares? they don’t have that same perfect v shape and it’s making me worried for my cardigan. also, if your squares are rectangles, will this pattern still work? what will change? thank you for the help!!
Actually there are various ways pf how to join the squares, if you didn't quite understand the way I did it you can look up on youtube I'm sure you're gonna find the method that works for you so there's no need to worry, as for the squares, yes it doesn't matter if they are rectangles as long as each of them measures 15cm in height
MashaAllah I appreciate this video very much! One question, how do I attach the sleeves to the front and back?
Im replying from another account, anyway you need to know first that you have 18 stitch on the side of each square, 4 squares in each sloove, so you will want to attach these 4 squares to the upper 2 squares of the front panel and the 2 upper squares of the back panel, sew every stitch to it collateral, I wish i was helpful
Hey can you please tell me what size this cardigan is…I’m a bit overweight so I don’t know if it’ll be a bit tight for me if I make one similar to this size
Actually I weigh 60kg and I feel that it's very over sized so I think it will fit you even if you're a little bit overweight
I don't really understand this. But i gotta try tho. I will give this as a gift for my wife's birthday. Thanks for the tutorial
Can you tell me which part you did not understand I'll try my best to explain it, also you're so sweet and thoughtful to give it as a gift
Hello, so i tried making the square (23 chains and 18 rows) but it ended up looking like a rectangle, is it okay if i did less rows to make it square? Also great tutorial! :)
I guess you're not using medium to bulky yarn but it doesn't matter you can make as many rows as you want as long as you get a 15cm square
@@dexterousdorothy4691 okay, thank you so much !

How long the yarn in meter? @@dexterousdorothy4691
Hello, I am a beginner and I want to do your tutorial because it looks so beautiful!
However I do have a question : I am 5'7" and very much on the heavy side, so I fear that it would not fit me properly. Is it oversized? Is there any way I could manage to size it up if needed?
I apologize if I made any mistake as English is not my mother language😅
Im 5'5 tall and I weigh 132 pounds, and as you can see it looks very oversized on me so I think it will fit on you even if you're a little bit over weigh, however you can add a column of squares in the back panel
How many chains across is the bottom ribbing??? Very cute cardigan!
It should be as long as the cardigan, so I can't give you specific number of chains
Thank you so much for the tutorial I'm so excited 🙈 I'm a begginer I only did like 14 squares so far. But my squares are not all the same site even tho they have the same number of chain and rows. Is it normal ? Does it still work ?
Size*
I think you worked with different yarn weight or crochet hook, however if it's just a slight difference it doesn't really matter because they're going to be gathered together
Question! Can I mix and match as many colors as I want for the squares? Can I also go down? I want to make a black and white cardigan!
Yes of course I think black and white would be a good match for it
Thank you for the tutorial:) I plan on making this cardigan in a few days, but I have a question, do you have an estimate of how much yarn you used for all the ribbings part? Does 250 grams for each color includes the ribbings as well?
I don't quite remembe how many grams I needed for the ribbings BUT think I ended up buying one extra 50g ball to complete the middle ribbing
@@dexterousdorothy4691 Thank you!
I’m using double crochet ( 12 lines ) 15 cm
Oh okey as long as you get 15cm you're fine 😊
Hi I really hope u are still responding to comments… Ik that someone asked about the size of the cardigan and I’m not sure I quite understand how u answered it …I was really really hoping that u would tell me as a young teen size small or extra small how many squares I should do or maybe I should do the same number of squares except that I make them smaller. If u can tell me how much chains and rows I should do in each square square will help a ton ❤ please respond, I am counting on u to tell me the correct rows and chains I should do to fit me perfectly 😅 Oh I don’t want it to fit me tightly I want it abit oversized.💋❤ please don’t tell me that if I do the same it will fit me just fine I don’t want it too be too big for me oh and in one of the comments u replied to remove a column, how? I only remove a column from the back and in front I do the same as u did?
First of all I really appreciate your support and your sweet words means a lot ❤️❤️ as for the the size of the cardigan, there is two ways go make it smaller, just keep your eye on the pannels and read the following?
1) substracting 1 ligne vertically (column) and 1 ligne horizentally (row) from the back panel, which means you will only crochet 12 squares for the back panel (just look at the back panel and you'll get it), then substract 1 culumn and 1 row from the front pannel (make 12 squares for the front pannel), for the side pannels, substract one column and one row for each sleeve (make 12 squares for each sleeve) so in total you will crochet only 26 squares
2)or you can work with a thin yarn like #2 and a 3mm crochet hook (but still i'm not sure you would end up with a small cardigan anyway)
I really hope I was helpful
Hi thank u soooooo muchhhh. I really appreciate that u took some time responding inshallah I will make it starting today ❤
2more question First i Do the same the same size of squares as u did? 😅Secondly,I understood how to do the front and back panel but the sleeves I did not understand how to subtract the coulomn for each sleeve can u tell me how many squares for each sleeve and tell me how to subtract ( horizontally and vertically for each sleeves ) I did not understand the sleeves cuz u said 12 squares for each sleeve and u did 12 squares for each meaning I do the same sleeves as u? And I am will use double crochet not half double crochet is that ok?Thank u for ur time😊
Hi, i just wanted to ask how much yarn do you need for the cuffs and the ribbing.
PS: The tutorial is really good😊
I think 50g for the cuffs and 100 for the rubbing would be enough and thank you so much for the support ❤️
Thanks♥️
How many squares to make back panel before sewing together
How many squares to make sleeves and front panel before sewing together ?
I have completed all 60 squares.
Last question I am a little confused on how to attach squares to the cuff please get back to me as soon as possible. You did a terrific job in your tutorial it is my fault I am not understanding
You can refere to the pannels 1:52, however you'll be needing 20 squares for the back pannel, 8 squares for each side of the front pannel and 12 squares for each sleeve one, I hope I was helpful
Couldn't quite understand the last part. Especially how to do the sleeves and joining the cuffs part too. But rest was really helpful thank youu :)
I didywant to make the video extra long but I can explain to you how to join the sleeves, so basically you will want to join the squares together to make 4 columns and 4 lines (16squares in total for each sleeve), you will end up with a piece of squares thay you will join its edges by another thread of yarn, join each stitch of the squares to one stitch of the squares controlatéral
Then join each stitch of the cuffs to 4 stitches of the cardigan to make it look fluffy
@dexterousdorothy4691 thank youu it was really helpful
