A variety of BMW models are experiencing cracked wood grain molding pieces, usually on the dash trim and/or the center console where the shifter is located. This is both unsightly and expensive to replace, especially if you have to pay for the labor charges. As an alternative, you can cover these pieces with vinyl textured fabric or you can replace affected areas with used parts. This video will cover the process needed to remove and replace the dashboard trim. An additional video that covers the center console is also available on the BullsEyeDIY UA-cam channel.

    Why doesn't anyone every put the year of the car. Every year BMW dash is not the same!

    X6 owners/mechanics. BEWARE. All wood trim panels require removal of the panel they are on, or removal of surrounding panels. Not so easy.
