    Thank you so much for your easy to follow tutorial! I just picked up crotchet a few weeks ago, and I was really happy to learn front and back post double crotchet through your tutorial. For anyone else making this, I found finishing with a slip stitch at the end of the project made the beret far too snug for my head, so I just finished with a row of single crotchets. This seems to have helped it keep its stretch but still finish sort of nicely. Thanks again!!

      If you’re a beginner and you could make this that means you’ll be excellent at crocheting. I’ve been crocheting for years and I have issues with this pattern. It’s at the same spot you’re talking about. I’ve made tons of berets but this pattern is not an easy one. Being that you had to watch it that many time to get it right means there is flaws with this pattern. You can watch a good pattern video and get it in about 2-3 watches. I hope you continue your crocheting journey, it’s addictive and helps you gain patience.

    What a brilliant piece of advice for beginners to skip a stitch for a decrease. It doesn't have to be technically perfect to be a great project! I wish I'd heard this when I was first learning because it would have been a lot less frustrating and confusing.

    How do you tie off your last stitch? Also, couldn’t find the link to the front-post back-post stitch (did best I could and I am happy with the look. And what do you do with the dangly bit of wool left over from the magic circle? Apart from that great video!

      Hey Thank you and Sorry for the delay in responding. I saw your comment and then it got lost amongst other comments. Anyway, I'm not sure I understand the first question. when your done with your last stitch, slip stitch to join the round and then tie a knot, Weave in the loose end with a yarn needle. I'll add a short video to my channel that may help you. Here is the link for the front/post back post ua-cam.com/video/FXvOdF1u3vM/v-deo.html
      For the wool at the magic circle I created a crochet chain, made a loop sew the down to create a little loop at the top of the hat. This is optional You can alway just weave in the tail, with a yarn needle. I hope this make sense...💚🙂

    hello lady I am just a little confused about the chain 3 at the beginning because if you have to end with 2 then there is only one left so how do I count the stitches

    • @AhselAnneCrochet
      @AhselAnneCrochet  2 роки тому

      Hi! the chain 3 counts as a stitch. Mathematical, it will work out as you work the rounds. For example- Round 4 is worked like this: ch 3, 2dc in next stitch, 1 dc, 1 dc, 2dc (in the same stitch), 1 dc, 1 dc, *Repeat 2dc, 1 dc, 1 dc*, each stitch around you'll end with 48 stitches. This round will end with 1 dc. Round 5 will end with 2 dc and so forth. I hope this makes sense.
      However, I've made a few of these berets and sometimes my stitch count gets off. Since this pattern is so forgiving you really can't tell if your count gets off a little, along the way. 🙂💚

    • @AhselAnneCrochet
      @AhselAnneCrochet  3 роки тому +1

      Hi, how many stitches did you have in between your hdc sitches? If you went one more round then you would make 8 hdc and then skip. The next round it would be 7 hdc and then a skip. Keep going until you get to the desired size.. I hope that helps 💚

    When you go onto 7 to 10 do you increase the single crochet in between as then 5 then 6 then 7 then 8 then 11 or does it stay at 4 hdc inbetween the 2 in between 2 in 1 stitch

    Did you turn the hat around so the good side will be outside? You didnt explain that part. Mines started to curve in but i saw u flipped it. For me, the good side is inside and the bad side is outside that shows all the stitches. Help

    I am new to crocheting and really like this tutorial. While making this beret, the more rows I added the more the edge became curly and wavy. Thinking I was doing something wrong I unraveled the whole thing. Is it normal for the edge to become wavy and curly as you add more rows or am I truly a lost cause? Help please.

    • @AhselAnneCrochet
      @AhselAnneCrochet  Рік тому

      Hi, Rhonda once you finish your increase rounds. The hat will begin to turn in on itself, curving some, and then once your start decreasing (taking away stitches) it will definitely curl. I think you should just keep going, just trust the process 🙂, I think you are probably doing fine.
