This video was awesome, came out exactly how I wanted. I used a smaller hook so I did an extra increase row to get the measurements right, and it was perfect. It was even a quick project, and because it’s top down, works awesome for gradient yarn colors. I’ve already gotten some compliments on it!

So far I have made 5 of these hats and I'm a beginner with only one project completed before watching this video. The steps at the bottom allow me to pause and continue working without having to right down what stitch comes next. Excellent video!!!

Fantastic tutorial. I'm a beginner and found your tutorial easy to follow. Instructions were clear, and your voice is clear. As an instructor myself, I really can appreciate a well put together teaching video. Thank you so much for this. My adult daughter, a history teacher, found your video and thought it was excellent and sent it to me. She wears these berets almost daily and sent this video to me. Hint hint! She bought a whole lot of wool, and I'm sure after the 10th one, I'll be a pro at making these berets! As South Africans, we often find American accents hard to follow and not clear. Yours however it perfect!😅

Ut Oh, did you figure out how to fix it yet, I see you made this comment a few weeks ago? Have you completely finished the hat or do you still have some rounds to create? You can make it a little larger by using a double crochet stitches instead of a single crochet in the last rounds. Also make sure you don't complete the slip stitch round, this will round make the brim tighter.

Oh no! I've made a few of these. One I had to adjusted in the brim because I had too many stitches too. I ended up putting the elastic band in and it worked out okay.

Awww. I hope you don't give up. It can be a little tricky with hats because of all of the counting and such. You'll get it.

I followed everything exactly and the beret came out too small I used the same hook and everything

Ut oh. , small like it doesn’t fit your head at all? What was the last round you completed? Because you can omit the very last round and the beret will have a looser fit.

Single dc= 1double crochet in one stitch. 2dc = 2 double crochet in one stitch.

I'm new at crochet, about two months. Your directions are very good, but my beret is, uh, a little wonky. It looks like it has too many stitches. I think Its because the yarn and needle size are probably not a match. I'm nearly finished and I think it will look fine. This sort of thing used to happen to me when I started knitting, which is why I don't knit any more. I love crocheting and I think in time I'll get it right. Thank you.
