  • This Crochet Bridgette’s Beret is a standard beret pattern for crocheters to enjoy.
    It starts off at the top of the head and expands outward and then comes back in for the forehead.
    If you want something a bit more snug, you can roll in the brim and put in a stretchable fabric elastic inside the brim so it has that form-fitting feel.

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  Рік тому

      If you do a gauge check, you can determine before you start on what size hook to use. With any wearables like this, a gauge check is highly recommending. HEre's a video on what gauge is and how to adjust for the sizing. ua-cam.com/video/smcfvVQ_rgg/v-deo.html You don't need to change the pattern, just the hook to match the gauge.

    • @TheMandyM

      I'm having the same problem. The written pattern says something completely different. It says 1 group of three, then expansion in next. As in every other 1 is an expanding stitch. That will get you 90. But I wonder if the pattern is actually written wrong and Mikey is right? It seems his version is how it should be. Its how you would grown any circular pattern correctly.

    I used a size 6 hook to test it out as beginner. The holes in the crochet were far too big but ok as a 'test one' only with cheaper yarn.. I did a new one with size 5 and the holes were much nicer. I don't understand patterns. I have made a beret but it is a bit lumpy, but I think I can get away with it has the holes are small and my yarn is colourful and nice. The beginning was easy to do but I got lost in the middle, even with the pauses. I am going to watch the video again. Hopefully I will get in the end and it will click.

    Hi, round 6 is different to the written pattern. It ends with a total of 75 stitches and consequently 67 stitches at Round 13 whereas the written pattern has 90 stitches at the end of round 6 and 80 stitches at round 13. People might not realise this so I wanted to let you know.

So if they started a design today, you wouldn't see it until possibly next summer or well into 2024. They work that far ahead. There are 11 designers on staff. They have to design for all of the brands they cover plus the store designs you see on the shelves at the craft stores.

    @rioseven7306 Рік тому

    Round six is totally wrong. I would have noticed earlier but you did not give stitch totals for each round. Once I started decreasing I couldn’t get it to work. Confused I checked the pattern. So I had to frog back to round five. If you give stitch totals for each round you will keep us, and yourself, more accurate.

  • @vickiegentry7124
    @vickiegentry7124 Рік тому

    Some constructive feedback that I hope you will take in the spirit of improving viewer experience:
    I frogged the third row multiple times, trying to understand WHERE you were doing the stitches. Finally figured that row out and got to row four and chain and do the two double crochet but WHERE? In which hole? After slip-stitching I am over the grouping, not over a hole!
    I am at this point and I give up. I wish that you would get your fingers out of the way so we can see where you are doing things, hold the work up more often so we can see what you are doing and make sure we are in the same spot, point out where you are going with things that are new, and it would be awesome if you would put the pattern written out in the screen.
    It’s frustrating because I really wanted to make this project, but I can’t dedicate more time and frog this yarn out countless more times trying to understand what is going on.
    Thanks!
