His riding this great thoroughbred is in full view and his Preakness ride and the ultimate disgrace the Breeders Cup Classic where he USED Easy Goer and made him make FOUR MOVES. Outrageous. Then he still came charging up to S.S. in the stretch. As Leo Obrien said this great horse needed a Cordero or some other top rider not Day. No way.

I loved Easy Goer, he was a beast, and beautiful horse. I don't think he would have beaten Seattle Slew, would have loved to see them race head to head. It would be dynamite, especially in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, but for the Belmont, automatically goes to the powerhouse Secretariat.
yes, this is "MY" sour grapes gripe, but like Harvey Pack said at the time Easy lost to SS for the 3rd time, PUT ANGEL CORDERO ON HIM AND HE'LL NEVER LOSE A RACE-Something to that effect. I agree, Pat Day would do anything to baby that horse including starting and stopping that raging bull of a horse and taking him all over the jersey turnpike when all he had to do was run straight!
