I haven't even watched this video yet, but I had to come here to say IM SO GLAD I FOUND YOU AGAIN! I swear I was subscribed to your channel. I was watching a video today and thought, OMG, where did they go?!?! I'm TERRIBLE at remembering names (of your channel, of all of you, etc, lol). I could remember stories- and the Amish stores you come up to in Michigan, and the gand painted cards, etc...I searched every thing I could think of on youtube until I saw your faces again! Now I'm writing down all the names (maybe screen shots) of the channels I follow in case youtube gets selective again! Anyway...I was looking for homemade cleaning products and here you are with that!
My favorite videos and I've watched the stocking of cleaning/personal care videos over and over. To anyone wondering if they're as wonderful in person as they are on YT, Absolutely!! My son has cancer and Josh/Anne have been a godsend to my sanity. Their videos have helped me escape from reality and remind me of the farm I grew up on. My safe haven........ Thank you! Patty and Steve ( I still have that accent, lol)
you showed you everyday cleaner on a previous video- I have made it many times- although I add a little woody essential oil (pine or cedar or one of many that I have) the smell makes me think everything is clean (guess because I grew up in the 60's with pinesol lol)
Felsnapa isn't chemical free it has fragrance in it I discovered this 2 years ago and switched to a castille soap bar which I now make myself. I also do just the washing powder, no borax n 2 cups of it plus 2 cups of baking soda n then 50 drops of essential oils n use 1 cup in the wash. I enjoyed your video. Thank you
I make our own laundry detergent as well. I cannot use the borax due to skin sensitivity. I do the same with the dryer balls. Put a little scent on them and throw them in. I make multipurpose cleaner as well. Tried to make homemade dishwasher detergent. Liked how it cleaned the dishes but my hubby and son always forgot to put the lid on and it would get hard so I stopped doing the dishwasher soap.
On the dish washing soap where do you add the white vinegar? On top of the dry ingredients which are placed in the hopper or in the rinse aid dispenser which is released when its in the rinse cycle? Thank you for all you do to help us become more self sufficient.
She was saying to use vinegar as a chemical rinse aid substitute. So, put it in the rinse aid compartment, and just refill when it runs out every so often. 😊 I also use vinegar as a clothes softener substitute in my washing machine, works great!
It seems to me that in the first recipe if you cut the ingredients in half you could do it all in the 5 gallon bucket including the water to dilute it. Also with the 3rd recipe you could add in the vinegar and soap and press it into shapes that would fit in your dishwasher to have a sort of bath bomb in the shape of the store bought ones. It would take a bit of extra time for people but the idea and options are there for the taking if they so choose to use them. 😄
I been making my laundry soap for over 8 yrs and posted a video on my way using Zote or Castile fels naptha etc Castile is great. I made my own dishwasher tabs with castille, from your recipe thank you. Yu can make formed pods in ice cube trays when yu mix the soap with washing soda. By the way ppl do t realize microplastics are used for dishwasher tabs laundry pods etc and leech into o ur water system sewers etc so this is a better way of what yu and most ppl hopefully believe in or should believe in for the future of our kids etc
Outstanding video! Can’t wait to give these a try. By the way, the camera work was well put together. I look forward to your videos. Thank you for sharing.
I have a good spot cleaner tip. You put a splash amoniak in hot water. Then you put a cleaning rag in in wrang it out en start cleaning. I juse it for cleaning mij couch. My spelling is not 100% ( I am from the Netherlands)😀
I use a clean(no pun intended!)bar soap as the gels soap has too many ingredients I'm sensitive to. I make a dry soap as I used to do the liquid which tended to not last long enough!
@deborahdillon5298 I was wondering about using a different soap as I make soap and was wondering if I could just use one of my stronger coconut oil soap with little superfat. Do you mind sharing which brand you use?
@@faithopeloveful sure! Usually I use Trader Joe's oatmeal soap(2pack about $1.98) or Kirk's gentle Castile soap(3 pack) or any natural Castile soap I can find. 3 bars, 4oz ea. The food processor really makes a difference in how fine it gets.
homemade detergent should NOT be used in today's residential washing machines. All machines are water efficient and require HD detergent. If you do your research you'll find that homemade detergent will NOT rinse out of your clothes because of the water efficency of the machines.
fels naphtha has a known carcinogen as one of its last ingredients, you have no surfactant in your recipe, detergent doesn’t work without a surfactant. Bar soap isn’t made for any modern machine, unless you’re beating your clothes on rocks, bar soap will slowly cause a buildup on your clothes the oils and chemicals, it will gunk up the pipes and tubes of your machine eventually voiding the warranty. 10 gallons of watered down soap not detergent isn’t enough to clean anything, it’s definitely not a “concentrate” it’s like washing your clothes with water, borax and washing soda are GREAT DETERGENT boosters but you have no detergent in your recipe to “boost.”
@@mustangmama- Really? A weak 4oz bar of STAIN STICK LAUNDRY BAR, has enough weak surfactant for 10 gallons of severely diluted soapy water? The amount is laughable, and makes zero scientific sense. Might as well wash with plain water!
Why not just leave the laundry a powder form? should dissolve fine in warm water. I have heard that the borax and washing soda change once water is added. I did not like it as much when I used to make it liquid.

Great video. I've been on a search for homemade cleaning products. Thank you for sharing.
We love our dryer balls too n i use lemon oil
I make a woodsy blend for fall and winter and a citrus blend foe spring and summer-
I was just going to ask if I could use plain homemade soap, instead of the Fels-Naptha, but I found my answer in the comments. Thank you!
Thanks so much for the helpful recipes¡!!

can you use a essential oil dryer ball in a GAS dryer? Would there be any way the oils could catch fire ?
Good information. Good job! Thanks for sharing.

Loved the video! Can you use the dish detergent with Dr. Bonner's Castille Soap?
Sal Suds is a Bronner's formula suitable for dish soap. They have a blog where Lisa Bronner discusses Sal Suds.

Fels Naptha contains surfactants. Clearly states so on their website.............
