We raised several twinks from 10 to 70 ourselves over the days. My tactic behind this was to only do HC dungeons from level 10 to level 38 & from level 38 to collect the mailbox with all the bonus EXP. We only need one hour per character
to add what is said, anything not looted gets sent to your mail, and when you loot it later it gets buffed even more because you have more bonus xp on your cloak then what you would have had if you collected it asap

use the remix mail helper addon and it will show you if you have enough xp to open all the mail

what is the reason for not taking the bonus exp?
You wont be able to speed level if you take it during the runs. Focus on getting threads first.

why normal over lfr raid? :)
Normal will drop the 12% XP thread for each boss where LFR wont.
