Yep, Monaco is very important culturally and historically to F1, but it's been a terrible racetrack for F1 for decades for actual racing. The cars are way too fast for a course that narrow and tight, leaving virtually no options for passing or battling for position.

It's been a year since I uploaded this and sadly, no 2020 Monaco GP. But I've enjoyed reading your comments throughout the year, quite a lot in recent weeks. This was a bucket-list item for me. We were in Monaco during the entire race event from Wednesday to Sunday. On Thursday we saw practice from a yacht near the chicane where Lorenzo Bandini crashed in 1967. On Friday thousands of us walked the entire track (I collected 'marbles' from inside the tunnel). On Saturday we saw qualifying from the Ermanno Palace, 6th Floor near Sainte Devote. And on race day we were in the stands at Tabac. Monaco is definitely more of a spectacle than a race. It was well worth the effort though. I too miss the the sounds of the V-12's, 10's. The hybrid power plant is cringeworthy at best, at least they sound better than those first two years. I saw and 'heard' with disgust the first hybrid race in Melbourne a few years back. I couldn't believe my ears. I've been watching this and other races since the late 1960's on ABC's Wild World of Sports. My Father took me to several races back in those days. The old Speedvision channel rekindled my love for the sport because the races were broadcast live. It was before DVR so I'd have to get up in the middle of the night sometimes to watch a race. I've gone to a couple of races per year since 2000. After each race I'd have to watch it again at home to see what I missed. I had tickets to this years' Vietnam race; who knows when that will be run? Again, thanks for watching and commenting and let's hope the rest of the 2020 season will match the off-track drama.
