I recently bought long underwear for an outdoor event around Christmas in 10 degree weather. Never had any before. Anyways, it was on sale about $14 for top and bottom (30 total). I was pleasantly surprised at how comfy and warm it is. It's very thin, stretchy, soft and fit fine under my clothes. It kept me sooo warm outside that I've been wearing it indoors and have turned the thermostat down. Try some long underwear to stay warm. It works!
I don't know if you like mushrooms, but I've heard they add good flavor and texture to bean burgers. As for Chewy, my heart goes out to both of you. I'm an old gal with health challenges, and we just never know what tomorrow will bring. I'll pray for both of you to weather the storm that's coming and the storms of life, too.
What a beautiful and cheerful kitchen window, Kathleen! Stained glass is so lovely. You and I are on the same page when it comes to so many things you spoke about. Great video! Thanks for sharing. Stay warm from very chilly Ontario, Canada!
Those bean burgers turned out wonderfully! You cook like I do! I just wing it after reading a few recipes and do my own way. I hadn't thought of sprouting seeds and beans since we started full time RV traveling 8 years ago. That's something I need to do again. Doesn't take up any room which is at a premium in my tiny kitchen 😊
Hi - really enjoying your videos, thanks for sharing. A tip for you for the cold indoors- Try a heated blanket on the couch / chair / bed that you put down and sit on top of instead of using it as a blanket. I use one on my sofa, one at the bottom half of my bed that hangs off the end to share with the pups over winter. Everyone is toasty warm and our heat stays at 67 during the day, 60 at night for sleeping. Saves a ton and its very cozy!
Those veggie burgers look delicious. I’ve bought some in the past and really liked them. That was a great way to use the food you grew. Sending best wishes for Chewy. He’s a beautiful boy and lucky to have you. All the best to you.
Maybe the cold is affecting Chewy's arthritis. Hope he feels better soon. We do love and worry about our furbabies. I will have to try making a veggie burger. Looks yummy.
Just found your channel a week ago and your Chewie reminds me of my Leeroy. I heard Chewie walking on your floors clicking away and he sounded just like my boy. Unfortunately I lost him last January, he was an 11 year old Rottie and I miss him everyday. I was happy to see he's feeling better at the end of the video, sending you good thoughts and looking forward to watching your channel grow :)
The color of your shirt is lovely on you! I hang dry my clothes on a drying rack in my living room during the winter to add moisture in the air and save on utilities. The bean patties look delicious. Hopefully, the vet has some helpful suggestions for Chewy! Hoping you get through the storm without too much trouble. Do you have a backup heat source for when the power is out?
Really good ideas for saving on utilities. The burgers looked great! I'm going to have to try making those. Bless Chewie ❤ wonder if the incoming weather could be aggravating his condition. I know it's rough on my joints when cold temps and precipitation move in. Thanks for sharing. Love your channel!
If I make cornbread I actually bake my cornbread in my dash mini pie maker. Very very little electricity. I do biscuits the same. Either the dough or the batter. They look funny shapes. But taste delicious. And I use my air fryer. My very old stove is inefficient. I put a two burner glass cooktop on the top ( I have a giant bamboo stovetop cover I got for Christmas several years ago ). And that and not using the big oven, along with only heating the area where I am in takes my electric bill way down. I was surprised how much. I also no longer use the fluorescent lights that span the entire ceiling of my studio apartment. I instead have a single ceiling light in kitchen which I rarely turn on. Only if in galley/kitchen area at night. And I use my reading light at my chair, and a light at my sewing/craft area when I am working in that area. And I use my slow cooker a lot. Sometimes my instant pot. And a rice cooker as well. I cook a lot of things in rice cooker. I know that’s a lot of small appliances. But my very old avocado green stove has wiring in it that looks scary to me. And pulls so much power that it blows the fuses. So I just don’t use it. We get over 100 degrees here in the summer. And my apartment is cooled by a very tiny air conditioner that is in its only window. I have a ceiling fan as well. But I do not have any doors that go directly outside. My doors go into my landlord’s garage. I have a tiny backyard. But I have to walk through their garage to access it. So no windows or ways to get a breeze when hot outside. The only way to ventilate and get the apartment somewhat cool ( the building is metal ). Is that tiny window air conditioner. And when it’s on it has to work really hard. But I really have no choice when it comes to that. I imagine I will be in this apartment two more years. Then hope to move into something else.
Have you heard of DMSO? Vets use it for pain for the animals. I use it on all three of my rescue dogs n it not only kills the pain for several hours but also can heal wounds. One of my dogs went through a barbed wire fence a few years ago n tore a hole under her belly n I sprayed it on her 2-3 times a day, (it recommends no bandage) and she healed up very quickly w no scars. I also use it for her hips. I spray her hips heavily and gently rub it in n she even stands still n waits for me to do it for her when she is stiff. I use it on myself for back pain and when my osteoarthritis flares up in my knuckles. For animals, it’s diluted to 50%DMSO to 50% distilled or filtered water. For humans, dilution is 70%, although I have used straight 100% at😊 times. It has no contraindications and the only discomfort is that when it’s soaking in through the skin, it itches like crazy for about 10-15 min, then, no pain for hours, and also their breadth smells of strong garlic. I Also have shared it w my neighbors for their back n sprained foot. I order by the gallon from Amazon but also from verterinary supply and even found small jar of gel DMSO at TSC farm supply. I know how you feel about your beautiful furbaby. We’ve lost 3 dogs over the years, 1 from cancer @7 yrs, one from a sudden heart attack, one from an accident, n 2 cats, one from feline cancer n the other one lived to 21! Much blessings!
I'd probably like the BBQ sauce on the bean burger. I'm 61 and semi-retired due to disability. My wife still works for a while yet. Is there a way You could collect rain water from your downspout? It is supposedly illegal here in Indiana, but nobody ever confronted us about it. Some cameras and phone cameras have an auto shutoff. We are doing fine here. Northern Indiana can be notorious in winter. 👍😉
I had the last one, no bun with catsup, the flavors seemed to have gotten stronger overnight. It was so good. I had thought about saving my rain water for the past 30 years or more but never did do it. Glad you and your wife are doing good!
I'm so sorry about Chewy's issues. I'm thinking since the cold weather has moved in he may be having a harder time moving after he's been resting with no movement for awhile? Give him some special loving pets from me and you take care if him as well as yourself.
I've had it before but I haven't seen it in the stores here. There's an Amish store in another town nearby, they might carry it but I don't rememeber, haven't been to it in a while.
Can you feel the air coming through your windows. You can put plastic up over windows or doors you dont use, my mom use to put blankets up also on doors that we didn't use. To help save on heat.
@ Thank you, my microwave is starting to sound like it might be going to quit on me and that is what I was thinking of replacing it with when the time comes.
If you are cold and your hair is falling out, get your thyroid levels checked. I had the same symptoms and and my thyroid wasn't working as well. Maybe add iodine and selenium to your diet?
Enjoyed your video! The sprouted bean burgers looked delicious! I would add, ketchup, onion and mayonnaise with a leaf of lettuce if you have it! We have a 12 and a half year old German Shepherd and give him Cosequin twice a day. I worry about him, too! We love our fur babies! I pray you don’t lose power during the coming storm! Sending you and Chewy greetings from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania! 💐❤️

That's a good idea. I do have some Cuddle Duds from my days working in a freezing cold basement.
@@kathleensmith6200 maybe look up videos on doggie and animal chiropractics and consider one for him? They really work wonders.

they were really good and supposedly healthier sprouted!
Thank you for sharing your frugal tips.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

Thank you so much!
Thank you for ending on that clip of Chewie looking so lively. I hope he remains pain free
Thank you for the money saving tips. Veggie burgers look yummy. Hope Chewie feels better soon.
You're welcome, and thanks for watching!

I was looking forward to seeing how the burgers went! Great video once again!

Possibly. He's been going out so often the past few days I thought maybe it was making him feel better somehow. Thanks for watching

What lotion do you se.I don’t have heat so I use a space heater. So my skin. Gets dry also…
I probably wouldn't use the stove either. Thanks for watching
Cera Ve and now I use the Walgreens equivalent

Congratulations on 2K🎉🎉🎉
Thanks so much! Crazy, huh?
Thank you for sharing. They look good and I'm no vegan, but willing to try. Stay safe
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy them!
Could you use a rain barrel to collect rain water and water your garden from that?
I have thought about that when I was still working but didn't do it.
I'd probably like the BBQ sauce on the bean burger. I'm 61 and semi-retired due to disability. My wife still works for a while yet.

@kathleensmith6200 thanks!
Most of our snow went south.
Great video 👍 ✌️ .
Glad you liked it!
My husband and I eat a starch based diet. I make our burgers with mashed potatoes, quick oats and a meat rub. I keep it pretty simple. 🙂
Poor Chewy! 😟
Sounds like a good, simple recipe! Chewie went out for about 10 seconds to use the bathroom. Makes me sad he no longer likes the snow.

Have you ever used chow chow? It's definitely a southern condiment. By the way, I'm from Nashville, Tn.

Yes, it is a multi function oven, convection, microwave and air fryer.
@ Thank you, my microwave is starting to sound like it might be going to quit on me and that is what I was thinking of replacing it with when the time comes.
Hi there. Burgers look great, are you a vegetarian?
No but I eat a lot of vegetables
If you are cold and your hair is falling out, get your thyroid levels checked. I had the same symptoms and and my thyroid wasn't working as well. Maybe add iodine and selenium to your diet?
I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and am on meds. Thanks
Is your dog older? If so, you can ask your vet for a low dose of arthritis pain meds.
He's already on them.
