I cannot help but weep not only at the beautiful, intelligent creativity but at her untimely loss. We truly lost an incredible musician and human being. Sending her family so much love. Thank you for sharing her with us. 💖💜
I played this at my 30 yr old daughter's Memorial Service a little over a year ago, instantly brings tears to my eyes. I haven't been able to listen til now. Eva had the voice of an angel, quite fitting.
Listening to this otherworldly gift lowers all my cortisol, slows me down to a state of meditative bliss. I'm sure Eva could not have imagined she would have such a powerful "ministry" to humanity when she was laying down these songs, singing mainly to herself and the few in the room lucky enough to be granted the privilege of listening in person. She continues, and will continue, to move us into spaces of healing with her interpretations of these songs. Thanks to those who have kept her voice alive for the generations to come.
I liked this song the first time I heard it, many, many years ago. Many decades ago. Forty years. Cyndi Lauper has a wonderful voice, and has great talent, without question. Yet, perhaps it was two years ago, I think, I heard Eva Cassidy sing this song, and it was as if I'd never heard it before. I somehow realized, much to my surprise, how beautiful the song is, the lyrics, and the meaning they convey. She manages to convey the aching that comes with the passage of time, the emotions involved, and the loss that comes with it. Yet, reassurance as well. I won't claim a special understanding of it, only that she manages to communicate a deeply poignant feeling with her voice.
I like both versions. Eva was not just a extremely talented singer. She also did her own arrangements on a few songs. The one that stands out in my mind was Somewhere Over The Rainbow. And I love it. It is also a beautiful sound with the orchestra behind her vocals. Amazingly so. For me there is no one over the other. Rather side by side. She could sing anything. I would buy this CD is it available? Love to the family & friends of one Beautiful and amazing singer I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. Thank you for sharing. Laurel Lea

Awesome song by Eva cassidy and the orchestral are amazing she is a legendary musician we still miss you Eva cassidy 🎤🎸🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵 time after time Beautiful vocals and fantastic voice
I never tire of hearing her sing, a real shame she is not still with us but what she left behind can be listened to "time after time " really!!! Absolute pure talent like no other seems regardless of what she sings there is all of Eva in the end product, it real,y does sadden me greatly that she left so early in life, and even though i an aware we dont get to choose it does not ease the sadness.
I first heard her on Terry Wogan on Radio 2. it was his producer Paul Walters (from memory) that brought us Eva. There were others too. Mary Chapin Carpenter, Gretchen Peters, Buffy St. Marie, Alice Martineau that spring to mind. Those were beautiful times when you could actually listen to Radio 2. Not any more !
Just caught myself crying. Thank you Eva - this helped me heal a hurt way deep down inside, that Indidnt even know was down there. She sang like an Angel, and her voice could heal like one too. 🎶❤🎶

I've been wanting for a long time for Eva's vocals to be paired with an Orchestra. There are parts of this that are really beautiful, but I'm not sure the arrangement is the best. It's very overly rhymic and it distracts from her voice. Also, it says orchestra but all I heard was a piano and strings. I think this arrangement would be improved if the strings were used more like a background synth less rhythmic movement, and I would use horns to bring some drama in the echoes of the chorus. That would have really paired well with her vocals without distracting them I think.
lSO is guilding the lily that was Eva Cassidy. There is nothing that can be done to improve her existing body of work. It is perfect and I wish people would stop trying to make it better. She used a guitar and was accompanied by a piano. Isn't it good enough? Of course it is. Leave her legacy alone please.
Love her so much. I had tears the entire way..........until the useless outro. There's was no reason for it. Eva ended it perfectly, and then some arranger tried to do better than she did. SPOILER: He/She didn't.
Thank goodness she made some recordings during her brief life. Imagine the loss if no one had preserved some examples of her amazing talent.
imagine how many in history have been lost. we are very lucky to have Evas recordings for sure
I often say that Music is Medicine. In my eyes Eva Cassidy was a medicine woman, a gifted healer. Her voice got me through many many hard times.
Me too.

One of the greatest singers.
She was a National Treasure. And, there are so many others out there that are being crushed by the "music making machinery."
Her voice gently carries me away to a beautiful place that I never want to leave.
Voice of an Angel.

Beautiful. What a gift. The orchestra was magnificent. Eva thank you.

Haunting cover
Lying in my bed
I hear the clock tick and think of you
Caught up in circles
Confusion is nothing new
Flashback, warm nights
Almost left behind
Suitcase of memories
Time after
Sometimes you picture me
I'm walkin' too far ahead
You're callin' to me
I can't hear what you've said
Then you say, "go slow"
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
After my picture fades
And darkness has turned to gray
Watching through windows
You're wondering if I'm okay
Secrets stolen
From deep inside
The drum beats out of time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
You said, "go slow"
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me

Im sure she knows, someone must have told her where ever she is.
Eva's arrangements were integral to her magnificence. Replacing them with an orchestra takes away from the experience of pure Eva Cassidy.
Cadê os BR que só veio aqui por causa de Smallville

Is there a mute button for that orchestra? Absolutely redundant. Eva wouldn't have liked it.
Funny thing cindy Laupers version was so great its hers , just like fields of gold is eva,s horrible
