This is simply incredible. The concept and orchestration gives it a Celtic and Appalachian feel which I think was exactly what Eva loved. Christopher Willis is a genius. I love Eva most in her simple and pure songs. We played ‘I wandered by a brookside’ as our signature wedding piece and my sister read the lyrics during the ceremony as they are so beautiful. I am beyond excited to hear the new album which I think could well provide the ultimate classic backdrop to the forever wonderful voice of Eva Cassidy.
Eva touched so many hearts with her one of a kind voice, including the London Symphony Orchestra. I’ve pre-ordered mine! Can’t wait for the release in March! I've listened to this song soooo many times on the "Live at Blues Alley" record, and this arrangement floored me. I'm a huge fan of Eva, and an amateur orchestral arranger/composer, and I'm in awe of both parts of this version. Just the idea to isolate her vocals and create an arrangement to PERFECTLY match the timing is one amazing feat. But then to match the emotion as well, and get the London Symphony involved? That's life changing.

Wonderful singer. Puts most so called singers to absolute shame. One of the great things about technology is that the sessions that she did originally can be used for just the vocal parts and re-imaged with a new backing, so this is great. Today's so called singer, take note: This is great singing.
I only discovered her today. Pretty much only people in the Washington, DC area knew of her when she was alive. I discovered her through reading about the Irish-British radio-TV host Sir Terry Wogan who was among the first people to play her songs in the UK. Strange that this American talent became famous on the other side of the Pond before being fully recognized in the States. (Maybe "fully" recognized is still premature to say.)
She was, and still is more than great., but this arrangements are worst than an insult to EVA. They could be tolerated for some emotionally low level tv shows, but not for something so delicate and fragile as EVA music
At first, I thought perhaps Eva would not like others messing around with her song ... but the more I listened the more I can hear that this is PERFECT. Since Eva was a perfectionist I think she would really like it ! The orchestra did not try to overwhelm the vocal. Bravo. And thank you to her parents who allowed this to be created.
Alas, we lost Eva far too soon. Her music is a legacy that will live and live on. Hearing with this orchestral arrangement reminds me of just what a versatile artist she was.
Arrangement is wrong , piano would be far far better and a touch of violin...She doesn't need much, as she gives it all....Fields of Gold is a perfect example, very light touches is all she needs..Sometimes less is more...
Please allow Eva to produce her own music. She doesn't deserve this disrespect. She was never "with" the LSO. She knew what she was doing and this isn't it. This is undesireable interference with the past and it isn't appreciated. Stop adulterating Eva Cassidy' music! They have stripped away her own contributions to install something inferior. Just Stop!
