As far as songs go, "Place For My Head" is iconic, "Leave Out All The Rest" is softer and heart-wrenching, and "In Pieces" is unique and has some interesting harmony in the second verse.
i would recomend Place For My Head live in texas
a younger me would hate sharp edges; for older me, it's one of their favourite songs. what difference 20 years make.

That was so brilliant when you reach the moment of the extended scream, watching your entire physical expression of astonishment is so rewarding and I was so anxious to rewind to experience it again I accidentally exited the video and threw my remote. 😅 Thank you for that.

When they were recording this song Mike kept telling Chester to do a longer scream and Chester got tried of that and just did a 17 second scream. Afterwards Chester realized he would have to do that live and wished he had done a 10 second scream instead.
Chester wrote the lyrics to this song just after getting out of rehab in 2005. He brought this song and several others to Linkin Park. He wrote this about his struggles with dealing with his divorce from his first wife Samantha. He used music to help him deal with his feelings in a healthier way than turning to drugs and alcohol all the time. This song was a way for Chester to tell the fans how he felt during and after his divorce.
Once you learn how to do harsh vocals in a healthy way, this often becomes one of your favourite songs for that sustain. I actually used this song to intentionally practice holding a scream for as long as I can while ALSO being able to manipulate it and bring down it's pitch over time. I've gotten to a whopping 28 second scream doing this now by learning circular breathing and intentionally taking a big breath just before it. Chester was a vocal legend who was the FIRST person to introduce to me anything other than compression or anything that resembles an actual scream. His influence on my music, and ultimately my life path after becoming a vocalist, will forever be an important aspect of my Journey. Losing Chester was the first time a celebrity passing ever actually effected me in any way, for for about 18 months I couldn't listen to LP without breaking down. I've since gone on to listen to MUCH more intense music, but I will never forget those roots and often come back to them for their nostalgia, and because let's be honest, Chester can SING!

Waited 11 minutes to see your reaction to his scream. Was not disappointed. The feeling dripping from it hits me and chokes me up, every time. The depth of the "I'm over it all" is so raw and relatable. This is one of my top 10 songs and I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it.

Hey, I'm so glad to see a reaction video to this song and 100% can confirm seeing Chester live twice when Linkin Park Toured WA and he was hands down perfect both times, it was like I was listening to the CD. RIP Chester, his voice is unmatched I don't know if there will ever be another singer quite like him.
You definitely have to react QWERTY live in japan 2006, he mix scream and cleans in seconds. Chester's greatest virtue wasn't just his voice or his scream; it was his PASSION and INTERPRETATION when singing. He conveyed his emotions exceptionally well, reflecting them in his magnificent voice. This is why he is so admired by many vocalists in today's modern metal bands.
I don't ever remember you watching something so intensely while letting yourself bop along to the music. It was obvious that you felt this one the way we all did. The end scream may have been the final destination, but watching you take the journey was great. Thank you for being genuine.

Chester managed this live is the craziest part. That insane scream and immediately starts up the chorus again. It blows my mind how he managed this. He truly was a once in a lifetime talent.

No one paid attention to their lyrics when both were alive, but listening to both of all their songs after their deaths, you come to realize they were both screaming out for help. 😢

The pain in Chesters singing. In the lyrics. In the music. The pain was real. And I used Linkin Park's music to deal with my own pain (PTSD, Veteran) I was hooked on alcohol and drugs to fight my demons. Then Linkin Park's music helped me deal with the demons and get sober. For this I owe the band my life. I'm 52 now and have 2 grandchildren. But I'm heartbroken by the fact that I will never get the chance to tell Chester. That his pain helped, me save my self from my pain. And the fact that I never had the chance to stand with him to help him with his demons.

When you listen to the lyrics of Linkin Park in hindsight of what ultimately happened with Chester, it's quite sad. Most of their songs he is crying for help. Brilliant singer.

I'm a 40 year old classically trained vocalist/drummer who grew up hard AF (musically of course!) and kept to my roots. I have a tremendous amount of appreciation for Chester and his artistic talents and he will be terribly missed by those who struggled to find their own voice in that time of their life. His work with Mike shouldn't be overlooked and there are so many other amazing artists that you should consider introducing yourself to. UA-cam would appreciate your reaction if nothing else that's for sure!

i was lucky to not only see them live more than 7 times, but met them all in person 3 times, and got to talk with Chester, every day its still hurts knowing he couldnt beat them demons and what happened had happened, all my fav moments in my life were days on the way to one of their concerts, with friends of mine, we started going as 3 then the next 5 then the next 10 and it was always a big event to go watch them. Hoping still for something with linkin park in the future but man, no days will be the same without Chester, he was awesome.

I love when people realize the energy he would put on live but what's more baffling is that he would do that almost night-in, night-out in tours that could last for two years. And I can say that you'll rarely see any fan disappointed of his performance in any live, this is truly an athlete kind of achievement.

Man, I just wish I could tell Chester how awesome he was and how much he meant to my generation and when I was 11 years old who first heard Hybrid Theory when it came out and it changed lives. The dude was super unique, an incredible talent and such a vocal inspiration for so many including myself. Rest easy Chester.
