I am enjoying this magic painting -love how you are making these fireflies. I am using ArtGraf water soluble graphite, in a cute tin or as a square block, to transfer. The tin version allows me to paint on the back of the photo with a brush. QUESTION: Could you do that with the Derwent block ❓Painting with a wide brush (and letting it dry) might be less work than rubbing.
PS for transfers. In order to save on toner (or ink) I transform the image into a "ink or pencil sketch" which just has the lines. Any simple editor can do this (even Windows Paint!) I can choose how dark I want the lines. There will be no gradients or shadows (pure toner) but I dont have them for the transfer. Hope this helps!
Great stream. I loved the graphite block idea. Graphite transfer paper is not eraser friendly. 😂 so I’ll have to give that graphite block a try. 😊
I love it, the graphite comes off the paper or lifts with my kneaded eraser so easily!

I haven't tried that, I might need to give it a go and see does it transfer after being painted on. Great ideas!

I love that idea, I will have to look into what I can use on Mac and give that a try. Thanks for sharing that.
