07:00 Conclusion w. Pros & Cons
My favorite beech snare is the Phonic reissue, but the 13x7 is worth having.
They both sound fantastic!
I have a 1969 sonor teardrop beech 3 piece but no matching snare, Ive tried a few snares and currently have a maple 13 by 9 tom I converted to a snare and thats fat but I prefer my 14 by 6 birch snare as it cuts better. This video helped me decide that I dont want these snares. They're good but not for me .
Thanks for your very helpful video
Happy Easter .
Nice. I wish Sonor would bring back a pro/German factory set that was priced like the old S-Class Pro. Similar concept with what seems to be happening with this snare line.
I think the closest to that would be their SQ1 line snare drums, I don't know how much the S-Class were but the SQ1 series seem reasonably priced :)
The S class pro was 20 years ago. you arnt getting those prices again.
Onederful playing, as always🙏🙂
Thanks!
I think these will perform
so much better than the metal models!
I'm really considering buying the 14"x6" as my next main, it's my favorite depth, it has a neutral look and from what you report it would fit my sonic needs (I hit hard and rimshot almost all the time)
Do you think a different brand head would work better with Sonor's shell size and edge construction, as opposed to the stock Ambassador?
Do you have a specific one in mind?
Yes, a CS Dot or any other brand would be nice too. Oversized shells are another topic, but on these you can put on whatever your desired sound is.
I agree. 14x6 has a thick, rich crack to it.
Evans.
These sound amazing! How many snare wires did you use?
I used the stock ones. Thanks for watching!
@@DrumsBonedo sounds incredible!
