In order I cut the hole. Then disconnected electrical stuff. On top of pump those fuel lines don't come off unless u cut or rio them off. They won't go back on after. I went to reear of car jacked it up. Took two bolts off that were on straps. It dropped few inches or more and rested by itself. I disconnected fuel lines close to where rear bumper is. Can't miss it if it's the malibu classic 4 cyl. Then I pulled pump out with the lines attached. Tricky part is getting pump back in there with those stuff lines cause u have to fish them to rear of tank.
Im working on replacing the fuel filter on my 2005 Classic. I broke the clip that holds the fuel line to the filter. Any suggestions? BTW, if I need to change the fuel pump I'm using your method. Seems easy enough.
You can use a zip tie that is around same width as clip and put that in its place. I'm sure it's a temporary fix but has worked for me before. 3 weeks ago you probably already fixed the issue by now lol.
please listen to me!-------do not do this on 2004 malibu ls you would need to cut at least a 30 in hole ! and no you cannot just lower tank a couple inches please believe me!
The lines disconnect from underneath car at rear of gas tank. If u disconnect from top they will be ruined. But new pump comes with new lines. I dropped tank few inches to access them easier.
@@joshsabo7477 i am finding out! the one line in the rear ( the thicker one) goes around back of tank then to front-----won't budge already lowered tank -------could it be attached ? ---i will let you know---lol i shoulda made a video
@@joshsabo7477 the lines are not a rear of tank on is in front which is not so bad but one is on passenger side of tank with all shit in way--gotta figure a way to get at it
Yes it worked great saved time and zero damage. I wouldn't call it butchering. If you don't need to do the job or like the way it's done then you don't need to comment.
Ya why is it incorrect? It's old lots of miles i don't care about a hole. New car I wouldn't do that. Saved alot of time. Obviously it's not the correct way. That's the point..
A lot of cars have access panels just for this reason. These cars didn't come with it, so you have to make your own. If it works and saves time, without compromising safety, it was the right way
thank you man, really appreciated i was locking for the exact position for cutting postponed project until i found your video!!
I'm going to do this on my 2005 Impala.

??? Is the fuel filter in the same area of the fuel pump location
It's behind gas tank in-between tank and rear bumper
What was used to cut metal for access to fuel pump
Looks like a Dremel tool, be careful not to knick the wiring.
Shit I should have read the comments firsts loL!! Damn it I thought it was going to be easy haha
We already know this waste of time for me an all others.
Have a good day.

everything about taking this one out sucks---- exhaust and sway bars in the way
Yep cause I have already done it.. worked just fine for me lol. Thanks tho
I did this without removing exhaust or sway bar. Don't need to do all that
And this is for chevy malibu classic. Not LS
yes but malibu is not the same! it has lines you can't get off!

Malibu classic lines are in back. You must be on different model
Being a butcher is not the way to go.Do it the correct way.

NOT THE CORRECT WAY TO REPLACE A FUEL PUMP 👎👎👎👎
So incorrect
Why????

Ahh, not a correct way to build a car!!!! Blame GM!!!
