*Please note these are just RANDOM albums from 1969, so there are still some great ones missing. Also, "Good Vibrations" was on Smiley Smile, not 20/20.* *If you enjoy these videos please remember to give a "thumbs up", leave a comment and subscribe. Thank you!*
This was cool, Larry! It was truely interesting to see how you put all albums of 1969 in its ratings and which ones will get the S tier, really much more fun than I imagined how it might look when I wrote you and before this video 😀👍 And 1969 man... What a year for a music albums, so many classics Also... You reminded me of some 1969 albums that I had forgotten for some time and I'm glad that you accepted this idea 😉
Some interesting placements there. The only albums from that lot that I would have in S tier are The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, Led Zeppelin II and Let It Bleed.
Some other albums that you could've included were: Deep Purple- Deep Purple Spooky Tooth- Spooky Two Fleetwood Mac- Then Play On Free- Tons of Sobs Leslie West- Mountain The Tony Williams Lifetime- Emergency! Miles Davis- In a Silent Way The James Gang- Yer' Album Jethro Tull- Stand Up The Allman Brothers Band- The Allman Brothers Band The Stooges- The Stooges
Great year Larry...especially since I was born May 30th, 1969! So much high quality music released that year and a pivotal year in American cultural and musical history (Canada too I'm guessing). You were old enough to experience it right? Great show, love your channel.
I do love Do It Again off of 20/20 by The Beach Boys. 20/20 is not my favorite Beach Boys album, but it’s definitely close! My dad had the original vinyl of 20/20 and I remember really loving the album cover
I couldn't do a list like this Larry,I don't know enough albums to do a list like this,I'd do maybe fifteen or twenty albums tops, despite being a musician I'm pretty limited in what I know, you're into everything. Bob
We agree more on tier lists than straight rankings ... I have nothing to say, I would have put all these albums in the same tiers ... good job Larry and keep on rockin' in the free world!
Hi larry once again a great list some of my favorite albums from 1969 are : Led zeppelin 1 and 2 the kinks arthur, the who tommy, the beatles abby road, the rolling stones Let it bleed, golden earring eight miles high king crimson in the court of the crimson King, Jethro tull stand up👍✌️
1969 sure was a great year for music! Abbey Road, Tommy, Arthur, Crimson King, & Let It Bleed are still incredible. I think both Neil Young, David Bowie & Elton John all made their solo debuts in '69.
Very solid 👌 Of course, I'd bump 20/20 to S tier haha. I think the new tracks work with the vault tracks excellently. There's an eerie undertone to the whole thing, like the White Album.
So many great albums that year! I largely agree with the list, including the S tier. However, I would put Let It Bleed in S tier right after Abbey Road. Chicago Transit Authority might be S tier for me also if not A.
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin I get it. But Soft Parade is my least favorite Morrison album and Let It Bleed is my favorite Stones. I would have put it in S tier. Otherwise a good and interesting video.
@@Roscoe-pi1gq I agree. "Let It Bleed" is also my favorite Rolling Stones album. It's practically a Greatest Hits album. 😊 It would be just behind The Beatles' "Abbey Road" at the top of "S" tier for me.
I love talking about the historical significance of that legendary year in rock music. But I was only 7 years old during that time and had no clue whatsoever about what a great year it would end up becoming. I do recall hearing about Woodstock, but honestly, the only band I was into back then were the Beatles. And they didn’t even go to Woodstock 😆. Well, all of that said, I will always appreciate the vast amount of quality releases from that year. I would have included most of those on my tier list as well. However, where was the Zeppelin debut ?? Thats a head scratcher. Or did I miss something ? Anyway, it’s a great topic. I could talk about this forever.
Can't knock any of your choices here. I realize the list involves sentimental favorites and is made up of stuff you actually have in your collection. My list would include stuff like Johnny Cash's San Quentin album and Completely Well by B.B. King (the album that contains "The Thrill Is Gone") in addition to much of the albums you have on your list.
*Please note these are just RANDOM albums from 1969, so there are still some great ones missing. Also, "Good Vibrations" was on Smiley Smile, not 20/20.*

I would have thought you’d have Let it Bleed as S tier. Always interesting to see these tier lists though, good job Larry

Another great video Larry.

I was just getting into rock LPs and I agree with your ratings.
My Top Three:
1.Let It Bleed
2.Five Leaves Left
3.Happy Sad
To think that these albums came out the year before I started high school, and had yet to start listening to music!
Nice ranking!. A great year for music 👍xxx.

1969 was an incredible year for music.
Couple great albums from ‘69 missing;
Stand Up-Jethro Tull
Led Zeppelin I
Joy of a Toy-Kevin Ayers
Hot Buttered Soul-Isaac Hayes
These are just random albums...
Great list

More high quality entertainment! 😊😊😊😊😊
What a great year for rock! Thanks
Such a good year, arguably my favorite.
Could’ve also put it “More” by Pink Floyd, some pretty good songs on there, and definitely better than UmmaGumma. Great list!

Can you do 1967?
Hi Larry - i enjoyed this ranking program especially the layout format. I was wondering what pream you used for the template. Cheers
Brian
It's called Tier List Maker. Thanks!
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin Thanks for the reply Larry. I will be able to use that template in classes I help with. Cheers
Brian
Love your rankings, but Let it Bleed has gotta be S. Maybe top of S
For you, not me...
I'm a huge Doors fan, but no way is Soft Parade better than Let It Bleed.
These are my favorites, not "the best"... I grew up loving The Soft Parade so it means a lot to me. Thanks.
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin I get it. But Soft Parade is my least favorite Morrison album and Let It Bleed is my favorite Stones. I would have put it in S tier. Otherwise a good and interesting video.

Out of all these albums my favourite would either be Uncle Meat or Led Zeppelin II, although that is just my opinion.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but The Band's second album is S tier all the way.
Glad to see Tommy in the S tier... although it should be just after Abbey Rd.
In the S column, I'd put Abbey Road first, as you have it, then Tommy in the 2 spot, and Hot Rats in 3rd.

Fun video!
No Monkees “Instant Replay” or “Present”?
No “Good Vibrations” on “20/20”.
These are just random albums from 1969... there were hundreds released that year. Thanks.

Larry, It’s much too late to start again, to try and find a little bliss.
Uncle Meat is such a hard listen. I love Frank Zappa but that album is still challenging to me.
You are less critical than I would be doing this: I would have only a few at S tier and many of these in C.
My top 3:
Abbey Road
Let It Bleed
Grand Funk

.( Wonderin did you ever do a kInkS teir/list?: cannot recall).
