Therockbrothersmc Loved both. More pissed at Silent Voices snub though because at least what was nominated in 2016 was damn good competition against Your Name. 2017 however had Ferdinand and Boss Baby. -_- Both of those should’ve been A Silent Voice and LEGO Batman Movie. Coco would still win though. Lol
Incredibles 2 had fun action scenes, but as for the story, I could've written that in my sleep. Not worth the 14 year wait, sadly. Anyway GO SPIDER-VERSE!!!!!!!!!
Ultraguy87 I do agree that infinity war had the better story, but in the Oscar‘s defense, Black Panther is very impactful to the culture. Being the first black superhero movie, and having the highest box office opening got the media hyped. Think of this, if the Oscars nominated Infinity War instead of Black Panther, would people still be angry?
Nominating Black Panther for Best Picture over Infinity War and ITSV is an insult, ITSV deserves it 100 times over. Outside of it's cultural importance it's a pretty underwhelming film considering all the hype behind it, bad CGI, run of the mill plot and pretty poor dialogue and character development. ITSV blew Black Panther clear out of the water in terms of quality, along with having an (arguably) better black protagonist if that also plays into their decision.
How To Train Your Dragon 3 better win for 2019. I'm 17 and I went to the preview release. I remember having the pajamas for the first movie. Some of my favorite movies ever.
Yeah but when you look back on it (and I'm not a hater for Wreck-it Ralph but), it kinda has the same premise as Toy Story but for video games. Like what "Honest Trailers" said .
"You might say I'm from everywhere there's trouble brewing and Hell waiting to be raised. You might say I'm what Hell's already raised up" is WAY too badass of a line to be in a kid's movie
Rango is one of the best movies in that compilation imo. Very different than the others in its humor and characters and whatnot - but still amazing. Brave and Happy Feet would be the weakest. Brave was somewhat of a letdown in the Pixar library, followed by the atrocious Good Dinosaur...
Look, I know Disney has won a lot, but I mean, those movies were really beautiful and creative. Also, you have to remember that yes Disney is the company behind them, but the mind working on those movies isn't the company, it's an amazing person with a beautiful imagination that so happens to be hired by Disney and sometimes Pixar too. Don't give so much credit to Disney but to all the amazing directors and screenplay writers, they are the real winners after all... It's not about the company, it's about the movie itself. I'm not here to suck on Disney, it's just an observation. Btw, I thought SING should've won instead of Zootopia, based on the storyline, not the company once again...
@@QGonline LMAO, look my point was, that many of the awards won by ''Disney'' movies deserved to be won, based on STORYLINEs and not the ''prestige'' of the company. And it so happens that only for that year, I prefered SING's storyline better... That's it, that's all
Probably should have watched Kubo and the Two Strings, then. Not only beautifully animated, but a touching story. The only thing that Zootopia had was the racial metaphors, which while clever and effective, didn't have the heart or the timelessness that Kubo has. God, I love that movie.
I loved Mirai so much. I know the award wont go to it, but dang. If you haven't watched it, you NEED to. I loved the animation, the message, the unique way of story telling. Amazing.
No silent voice No Kungfu panda No Kubo & 2 strings No kingfishers panda Seriously I still can't believe that they gave boss baby the word over a silent voice
@@sm4carnageihope more movies deserved it, Lego Batman is fun and I just like the stop motion style of Lego animation, also there are a lot of great movies that the Oscar ignore, some of those came from Japan, movies such as "Silent Voice" is a great anime yeah it does have a bit of anime cliche like all anime have but the story is good its pretty sad and kinda deppressing. the only Japanese animation that got an oscar award is from Studio Ghibli, and since Studio Ghibli is owned by Disney, now I see how they are able to show their movies to more audience in the west.
2009 was such a strong year in animation--Up won best feature but it was up against Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Princess and the Frog, and The Secret of Kells (all of which are fantastic movies). 2014 and 2016 come close in quality, but so far no year has been so good for animated movies... what a great time to have been a kid!!

There’s no question here, not really. Into the spiderverse kinda just nailed everything. It’s so strange to say that it’s the best comic book movie ever made when infinity war was released the same year but nailing the animation to look like a comic book, referencing the toby maguire movies brilliantly, incorporating everything we could possibly want to be in a spider-man story and making it work, having perfect casting all around (especially nic cage as spider man noir that’s simply pure genius), a heart touching stan lee cameo, having fantastic storytelling and top of the notch character designs....I legitimately don’t know what else they could have done to make it better.

Mirai is just beautiful! You should watch it!
Spider verse should win, they say the spent a week for each second of the movie drawing the outlines of characters to give them a unique comic book look
That's a reason why it probably _will_ win, but not why it _should_ win.
@@samuelstephens6904 ???????
A week for each second would take more than a hundred years
They worked many seconds with many workers with one second per second per week my friend @mrspideydude
@@narufan987 The issue wasn't the entire film but some critical scenes that needed some extra love. Anyway did you check how many animators worked on the film ? 140!! thats more than double the likes of a Pixar, Disney, Dreamworks, etc. movie.
I’m still confused to how Happy Feet won.
And how no LEGO movie was even ever nominated,
Or how Big Hero 6 beat both The LEGO Movie and httyd2
Ikr? Happy feet was the worst of all the movies.
Also lego movies and HTTYD are really really good, and so is Big hero 6. But still.😢😢😢
Happy Feet was up against Monster House and Cars, I really don't think those were as good as Happy Feet. How can people say Monster House should've won, when the animation itself wasn't even good for a 2006 film and it's an animation category. Personally I enjoyed Happy Feet a lot, especially the songs and the message.
@@gbt2009 We all differ in our opinions and in my opinion, Monster inc. and cars were wayyyyy better than happy feet. I just feel that happy think is too weird and unsettling sometimes.( No offence).
@@skd6202 I don't see how you liking different things would offend me. Sure Happy Feet's got some weird stuff in it like the real people but in general it was a nice movie, especially the vocal performances and musical direction were amazing. I liked Cars and Monster House too but they weren't as deserving of the award.
The lego movie is horrible, Big hero 6 is SO much better. Have you even watched BH6?
2001: Awesome Movie
2002: This is a masterpiece
2003: I rlly like the characters in this movie makes it so good

2018: It’s now 2019 and Spider Man into spider verse won I love this and the best animated movie in 2018
2019: I hope Toy Story 4 wins even though How to Train your dragon 3 was awesome either toy story 4 or how to train your dragon 3 should get a reward
Superstar Movies17 Toy Story 4 will get it but HTTYD 3 was better
Well it’s a hard choice for me I rlly love the toy story franchise but How to train your dragon is also good it’s such a hard decision
Shrek sucks
toy story 4 is the best disney movie? the only thing i can say about that is recency bias.
@DARIUS-PETRU SALE Yes
Not that Big Hero 6 wasn’t a good movie but the award should have gone to either The Lego Movie or How to Train Your Dragon 2.
Diego Pisfil I would’ve voted for HTTYD 2.
Mullerornis I don’t Know what that is.
Agent Prime I thought the Lego Movie wasn’t nominated?
How To Train Your Dragon 2's plot was kinda weak
That goes down in history. Neither were Lego Batman or Ninjago when they came out. They weren't as good but that forking animation deserved the Oscar!
I love how the thumbnail is always the winner of the Oscar for that year
Their 2018 Visual Effects video had GOTGV2 as its thumbnail.
My favourites:
Shrek
Spirited Away
Finding Nemo
The Incredibles
Wall E
Toy Story 3
Inside Out
Zootopia
I hope the award this year goes to either:
Spider-man: into the Spider-verse
Isle of Dogs
Ones i wish had won an award:
Coraline
Kimi no na wa
The Breadwinner
Red Turtle
cool beans coraline deserves everything
Please. Don’t give me flashbacks about what happened at the award show last year...
cool beans I am still baffled how Kimi no Nawa didn’t win. Bullshit
I didn't like the breadwinner. It was too slow
Boss baby and Ferdinand were chosen over A silent voice........
Spider-Verse is a movie that just makes me feel amazing, and it deserved to win, its probably the best movie I’ve ever scene,
On that note, Isle of the Dogs is also very good movie, I liked how it wasn’t afraid to be awkward (a lot like Fantastic Mr. Fox, who knew). It slightly reminds me of Rango.
Isle of Dogs came from the same director as Fantastic Mr. Fox.
I can see why Wall-E won in 2008. I freakin love that movie
Edit: I can see why most of these movies won. I love ALL of them
the scene are beautiful, and the storrytelling are masterpiece
WALLE is so boring and awful, worst Pixar movie EVER
You should do the Best Costume Design Winners next!
Into the Spider-Verse better win, otherwise...
Ultraguy87 Otherwise we all riot until they change their decision somehow.
Otherwise,Mirai should win.Either one.
TheDragonKing Haven’t watched it so I think Isle of Dogs or Incredibles 2 are the other two best movies.
Otherwise, *no pizza time!*
I’m still salty that The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie weren’t even nominated...
You're right. The lego movie was way better than big hero 6.(I like big hero 6, but I think the lego movie is better)
You still are? Just get over it.
Ultraguy87
I know, I really need to get over it
What pisses me off even more is that they nominated Boss Baby instead of Lego Batman.
Also, nominating The Box Trolls instead of The LEGO Movie.

Still no Your Name 😢😢
The lego movie got snubbed
Ikr
So they only introduced this category in 2002?
Yeah this surprised me as well
I think they pretty much added it because of Pixar and the wave of computer animated movies that came after Toy Story

@MSRTV I disagree. Although it was great
Incredibles 2 was a disappointment compared to it's predecessor
@@spincer3033 I also disagree with that, I think the first was better but the second one was definitely not a disappointment

It is good to see that anime movies got recognition again!!!
However, I think for this year, Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse deserves the win.
I'm still salty that Your Name and A silent voice didn't get nominated last time
But spiderman isn’t anime
Rafael Viramontes yeah but Mirai, (which is an anime film) got nominated this year.
2. Spirited Away
3. Wall-E

Now you only need to put the OSCAR of better visual effects
I'm still ticked off that Spider-Man Into the Spider-verse wasn't nominated for Best Picture.
That Internet Show SAME! Though I wouldn’t be if no other comic book movie was nominated because come on, ITSV is better than Black Panther.
The fact that Black Panther got nominated instead of Infinity War or Spider-Verse is disgrace.

Absurd pro-Disney bias here. Only one Japanese film has ever won - and that was distributed in the West by Disney.
Because not many Japanese movies get a full theater release in America.
There are so many foreign films that deserve to be Oscar winners but don't get a chance due to limited release.
Disney only won 3...

Like what "Honest Trailers" said .

Disney deserved a lot of their wins but definitely not all. I’m glad this year they realized Spiderverse was the true superior film.
The fact that Disney/Pixar have won countless times is not a copout, but rather, just shows how great their films are!

Don't give so much credit to Disney but to all the amazing directors and screenplay writers, they are the real winners after all... It's not about the company, it's about the movie itself.
