Sony: how do I know I'm ready?
Marvel: you won't, it's a leap of faith.
DC: how do i know i'm ready?
Marvel: shuddup meg
Marvel's a bit more of a Burrito Parker these days
@@Jefferson-ly5qe At least we get more spiderman
Honestly, they did, huge leap of faith. Look at the emoji movie and this
@@kaokoki5983 we dont talk about the emoji movie.😂😂 that is a disgrace to art.
Man this movie makes me remember why I chose to be an animator.
Leticia Rieger first The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Dark Knight, and The Godfather influenced me for me wanting to become a writer, director, animator, and an artist, and now this film now became one of my influences
I was shocked on how phenomenal the animation and the art in this film was like it is really that good
@@coinflipburp1565 What are smooties?

SAME! It's like a love letter to the craft!
Same (or I'll be an artist, both works)
BY FAR the best movie of 2018 and one of the greatest visuals and directing of all time, not to mention the best superhero movie of all time.
The only thing that makes me sad about this movie is that I'll never be able to watch it for the first time again.
ugh put the words in my mouth
Im holding off on wacthing it a second time for this very reason
@@rafaelreyes8457 I saw it on either dvd or blue-ray (can't remember which) and one of the people who worked on it said they put so many Stan Lee easter eggs in it that they themselves didn't remember all of them
My new goal in life is to be able to wipe my memory so that I can watch this movie for the first time, every time
Wouldn’t say best superhero movie of all time... but yeah ig it’s top 5
@@purejordan6974 then what is cause i’ve watched a lot and compared to this.. they ok ig
I'm just starting to get into graphic and print design for a career, and THIS. This is all I Want to do now. The style is incredible. This is basically the Jurassic Park of the animation world.
im not hating on either artstyles but this was literally the exact opposite of the soft and round style other animated movies like disney and pixar opts for and im loving it
The animation for this movie was mind blowing
They seem so proud of themselves, which is very understandable considering the masterpiece they created
Shout out to Alberto Mielgo who created most of the art style and character design but was fired before they started production. 😐
Oww, Alberto mielgo is cool, that's sad..
Got fired Because Sony and him had some discrepancies in technical and style but other than that it was Sony's decision to fire him
Why did he got fired?
This is the rare film that is honestly a perfect 10/10 for me. It's beautiful and distinct, it has a TON of characters without the story feeling messy or the characters feeling like they blend together, it's coherent, it's funny, and it's fresh. This is truly a modern classic.
Don't think I've laughed and cried with joy as much at any movie. Everything Everywhere maybe. About to see Across the Spiderverse and am so excited :D
this will forever be my favorite movie, the animation especially has helped with my mental disabilities because its so stimulating and its so cool to see how it was all put together
That’s lovely to hear that the this piece of art has helped you Madelyn. Isn’t it inspiring how something like a film can make you feel positive inside. After watching this I am going to watch the film again tonight and I will be awe struck even more this time round. Have a really great weekend.
I kinda want Sony to just make the MCAU Marvel Cinematic Animated Universe
This movie was a MASTERPIECE. underrated
How is it underrated?
Its not underrrated
Yeah says someone who posted after being years late to the cinema release and its initial public reception
It was popular enough back then, even in my place the studios which played this movie were always (almost) full
It's not underrated bruh
This movie is insanely good. I was just in awe the whole time.
Yeah it was sosososo awesome!
the way he leaps off rooftops with the swagger of a black teen
Don't forget the exaggeration
You know the reviewer who originally said that, Jordan Ramée, is himself black?
Black teen why don't you say teen instead lol
@@agent3187 Because that would be ageist.
@@AdmiralBonetoPick then if he not black we call him white teen ? 😳
gosh i've never animated nor am i a comic reader but still something about this movie stuck out as beautiful!
the team behind this movie really are amazing at their craft
I dont remember to enjoy any animation more than i enjoyed watching this movie. It was just perfect.
and with that huge effort resulted in an Oscar
this movie is literally the most beautiful thing ever!! i remember watching the trailer and my jaw dropped
This just goes to show that what could be considered "lazy" is not always bad.
Laziness is just another source of Innovation, people strive to make their job as easy as possible and find new ways to do what they do...
The source in this case was different but you get what I mean.
This is the good lazy 😂😂😂
Literally any frame in this movie could be a good wallpaper
Ohh man I wanted to see that 'bagel' hit. Such a great visual movie on all levels. Sure feels great to say I now have a favorite animated movie. Thank you to an extremely creative team.
That's it...I also can now say I have a favorite animated movie...bar none. Genius film. I hope Sony finds their footing with this and tries another.
These guys should recreate other comics and characters into full fledge films. Internet push that.
Where is my Gwen Stacy solo film? or my Spider-Man Noir solo film? They can make 4-5 sequels because every character is dope.
@@Rialster there is gonna be a spider-woman spin-off with Gwen, Cindy Moon, and Jessica Drew, and a rumored Spiderman Noir movie
and of course Peter Porker and Penny should have their show for the kids.... which of course i would secretly watch when wife and kids are asleep hehehehe
Right? Next time any comic franchise movie gets a "reboot" instead of doing new live action versions, how about we get this style instead?
I'd watch an all black and white manga version of this
i love learning about this movie
I just finished the "alternate universe" version which additional scenes
I just can't get enough of this movie
Where can i watch it
@@ayaashraf-wr8ki it's on the blu ray/DVD and digital release of the movie
@@anthonylamonica4110 thank you
Animation like this reminds me why i love animated stuff
This movie is true art!
It's literally an animated masterpiece.
Absolutely groundbreaking!!
I love how they animated Gwen's New York at the end when she is back in her dimension. Felt poppy and daydream like.
I swear to god I could watch this movie on mute.
julia howe It wouldnt be complete without the soundtrack and the dialogue, in my opinion. The comedy was a part of the movie that i loved almost as much as the artwork. And the soundtrack... now im not even into that kind of music but i actually thought it was perfect. The songs and the scenes just went hand in hand all the way to the end
I did just that recently at a trade show, still great 👍. Another exhibitor was showing the film as a screen display
Totally agree. This is when you know how good the animation is.
*Even blind people would enjoy this movie*
B-B-But the soundtrack... :(
Incredible production, the 2D/3D blend and character stylization makes this by far my favorite movie as an animator
The originality of this style of animation is off the charts, I want to see more of this
CAN'T WAIT FOR A SECOND MOVIE 😁😁😁
This movie was flawless in my opinion
its an original. Something some people never thought hollywood could create again lol
It was one of SONY's few successful movies, it's definitely getting a sequel
I don't want to sequel.
They ruin everything in the sequels😒
@@zzzz44400 Let's just hope for a Shrek 2, then :)

i underestimated this movie before I watched it, but it humbled me

There's a poster of this scene. When I was studying the composition of it, all the buildings were hitting a focus point, and even the direction of Miles Morales were hitting it. That's true dedication on the movie
4:09
this scene shows how each frame of this film gives a poster or a T-shirt print that is so stunning.
@GamerGreninja16 yes then I would play a big part.
This video explain something not many people understand or even knows about: movies are made in "packs" and not necessary in the same order as what's shown. I really loved when they explains that the beginning of the movie was produced last because the soundtrack wasn't done yet.
as long as there's a storyboard!
Stan Lee would be proud. I'm sure of that.
GamerGreninjaGirl *we don’t talk about that*
Spiderverse was the first animation since long ago, that was really fun to watch. I litteraly fell in love with it while watching it and this was mainly because of the animation and on top of that the storyline was humorous and played with the audiences expectations. Just a perfect movie.
each and every single frames of this movie is a masterpiece, i hope they produce more movies with these type of animation style and can't wait for across the spider verse
My two favourite things that they incorporated into this film is the use of onomatopoeia to show sound as text and the hand drawn coloured frames like when Miles returns to the collider with his new suit, the frame transforms into a paintified frame
Spider-Verse is literally the most beautiful, creative, and detail oriented movie i've ever seen! Absolutely brilliant 😍
Just watched this and I am in awe of the design. It's gonna take quite a while until any animation is able to top this masterpiece
this is fascinating. I could listen to these guys talk about the animation of this movie for hours.
I'm really in to this combination of 2D and 3D. It really helps movies stand out! I hope we see more of this or other types of "mixed media" animated movies.
This was an awesome movie all round. The bold, fresh approach to mix flashbacks to the printed comic days, with the latest animation techniques turned out insanely good. Even for those non-animators like me, you could clearly see it was on another level of expertise. Just when you thought it impossible for a fresh take on a character spun so many times (pun intended), they released a movie masterpiece on many levels.
Every award given to this movie was totally deserved. A masterpiece of the animated arts.
After watching this videos I just love this movie even more.
With magic lol
This is how many people love Sony, marvel,And Wired
Dishonerd dva still like Xbox
Lol 😂
i swear in the future this is going to be taught in art history courses as the movie that changed 21st century animation........... i am never getting over this art, ever
bro literally the sequel is even better omg
And they made it even better in 2023 with across the spiderverse
Fr, they turned it up to 11. Was 100% worth the wait
We say its magic, but they said "well yes but actually no"
@Jonathan Lumbreras but also yes
Animators and VFX artists are magicians. That's why I chose to study it :D
"well yes but actually no but also yes and also no but obviously no"
Lion King would have been amazing in this stylized 3D method.
I didn't know I needed this in my life before I saw this comment. Now I'm just angry I don't have it
But Lion King looks more realistic and thus Lion King is better. (going by the logic of the creators of Lion King)
Yes!!!
Give Alberto Mieglo his credit!! If it wasn’t for him the movie wouldn’t look like this
I seen him in the credits tho
its really sad what happened and the fact that people just dont talk about him in any interview even if this film is totally himself and his soul, 'visual consultant' as a credit says nothing :')
Luiza Beda dont say that. It may seem nothing for you but every single person in the credits deserve the same praise for this amazing movie
This movie was worth every single dollar that went into it. It’s incredible and one of a kind.
Across the Spiderverse literally outdid itself and was a better movie than the first one. This is definetly going to be the best trilogy once Beyond comes out
