Thanks, guys! Door County is such a beautiful area, especially in the Fall when they are having a lot of festivals but it's also super busy during that time. Interesting information about Deaths Door.
Hey Marty & Sally, What I think would be cool, is to visit Death's Door and learn about the different sights that are offered. It is interesting to note, the different sights that are given to one. As a Titanic follower, I would like to learn about the different ship wrecks etc. It would be interesting to relax and take a few weeks and learn about the total sites! I am from Michigan, and it would be a good experience to learn about the history of it all! Good job Marty and Sally, a good job done my friends! ^5
I remember having to turn around on a lakeside road because a winter lake storm tossed a huge chuck of snow/ice unto the road. They had equipment breaking it up to haul away. Was probably from the piles of snow pushed off the nearby parking area.
I love your videos yes take me to the quiet little cool towns probably wouldnt see em any other way thanks for doing what you do both of ya’s and your lil dogs too ❤
What a name: Gills Rock and Deaths Door. Makes sense how it got it's name. A lot shipwrecks!! Love your pups!! Hidden shoals and storms definitely could be a problem to ships! That map you pointed out is good to show. That ship air funnell is really cool!
I've been going to Washington Island since I was a Kid and have family who live on the Island. This was a treat to watch but at 5:05 in, you were correct the first time. That was Pilot Island and its always been a fancatation of mine with how the trees's and all the vegetation could no longer grow because of the Cormorant's that flock to the Islands waste. Plum Island houses a old Coast Gaurd Station that has a light as well but not like Pilot Island. Bummed you where not able to try some smoked fish from Charlies Smokehouse. Best fish next to Scotland, hopefully your next video wil be on Washington Island (A must visit!) and you can catch Charlies on the way home. If you do go to Washington Island you definitely need to hit School House Beach, Little Lake & Jacobsen's Museum, Jackson Harbor, KK Fiske's and the Grainery, Nelsen's Hall, and of course the mile and miles of beautiful roads and scenery. Washington Island is Wisconsins Heaven on Earth. Cheers
I have been wanting to visit Door County for years. Maybe someday but meanwhile I am enjoying traveling with you two talented people. A friend from Michigan.❤
My ancestors were fisherman, captains of big boats, anything to do with boats. So this is always interesting to me. My great great to the umpteenth great grandfather founded Chatham Massachusett. That was really cool going through the museum they have in Chatham. (Which incidently my mom grew up in) Now it's a museum.
The museum with the Mao of shipwrecks is interesting! Hope fishing tug is cool! Thanks for the tour of it! The books you pointed out were interesting! Wow, an old telephone booths. Love your hat! Harbor lights inn looks really nice! Love your wrist band. Got to get a postcard! Sorry my comments were on two different spots. Loved the video!
Thanks Sally and Marty for your review of Gills Rock! A suggestion, the next time you go through here be sure to stop at Bea’s Ho-Made Products on Hwy 42 just outside of town (the address is sometimes listed as Gills Rock-Ellison Bay). They have the best jams, jellies, pickles, assorted goodies and cherry pies. Their specialty is chopped cherry jam. Wow!😍
Somehow I found myself late on watching these 2 most recent episodes. 😳 My apologies!! I just finished binge watching them both. Both were very interesting and full of fun & interesting information. We have not visited the Door County area yet, but thanks to you two, it’s on our wishlist of places to check out. Thank you Sally & Marty for doing what you do!! 😀❤️
This video is awesome! We cancelled our shipwreck trip to the UP via WI because we bought a house to downsize into and needed to spend a bunch to get the old house on the market. As of watching your video tonight the old house is under contract so maybe next year. In the meantime I will hang out with you and Marty. 😎
Love Door County. Spent some time up there. I di get a feeling when I go to Gills Rock, but have ferried over to Washington Island a number of times just the same.
Um, Gill's Rock is not the northernmost point in Door County. That would be Rock Island. Both it and Washington Island are in Door County. Fun to see you there, though, Sally and Marty!
You piqued my interest midpoit by describing pirate Dan Seavey as "colorful". Yep, he was. Thanks for the tour of Door County you two! Nicer hat too! 👍😉 Dan Seavey, Wikipedia: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Seavey
It might be fun to do a video talking about Dan's colorful life wink wink. Thanks! I bought it from Christian's Upscale Resale in Antigo. I'm thinking about taking the chin strap off, though.
I learn so much about my 'sconnie here, love your site!
Shhh, don't tell anyone but I'm learning right along with you 😉 and thank you, I'm thrilled that you do!

Hey Anthony, That’s awesome! It’s really nice to know you still tune into our little show!! Take care.

love this town with its nautical flair. one of the most famous wrecks on the Great Lakes of course was, the Edmond Fitzgerald up in Superior.
The museum with the Mao of shipwrecks is interesting! Hope fishing tug is cool! Thanks for the tour of it! The books you pointed out were interesting! Wow, an old telephone booths. Love your hat! Great video interesting
You two are awesome and barely keeping your mind on the road is probably better than allegedly keeping your mind on the road.

Yes more Door county…..and Washington island too
Loved the video. Pretty cool fishing tug in the museum.
Thank you 😊 When I was a kid it was fun to watch the old fishing tugs come off the lake and offload the days catch.
You forgot to mention Deaths Door gin! Excellent martini gin,
Where do I get me some of that?
Did you know that Nortport visitor center used to be a restaurant in the late 70's 80's
Pretty interesting,
Thanks!
I was at that museum in 2001
Um, Gill's Rock is not the northernmost point in Door County. That would be Rock Island. Both it and Washington Island are in Door County. Fun to see you there, though, Sally and Marty!

I though you said the town was Couderay for a moment.
Was the Edmond Fitzgerald near there
I believe it was on Lake Superior. Nov 10 1975 was the date of the wreck.
Have you been to the town in north Central wisconsin that has a fake waterfalls.in town.?
🙂👍⚘️⚘️
