Also included: replacing the old shower head with a shiny new one.
He didn't talk nonsense at all. I like it very much. He demonstrated well. Thanks trainer
Very helpful, also the music really does a good job of showing how exciting this really is! Kudos!
2:20 Totally agree. Test it before final assembly. You don't want water dripping in the wall. I have seen other videos where they didn't do this and I thought, that's risky!
Looking at this now so I can do it for myself in this pandemic. Thanks for the help!
Great video. Thank you for sharing. Did it my self and solved my dripping problem.
Loved the video but it drove me nuts with all of the crud that wasn't cleaned off! IF for no other reason than for the completeness of the great fix, one could take that final look with complete pride! I know I'm a lttle OCD, but it's about the complete package. But again, great video, and thanks for showing us the broken washer and reminding us that was the source of the leak!
Man it's like you took that video in my bathroom. I have the same faucets and even the same tile. Thanks for the video I'm going to go tackle this now.
Tim MacDonald he’s the sancho
If your shower no longer leaks I would be really nervous.
Was it a price pfister knob?
@@mrdavid5771 Same exact knob in the vid, unless it's a knockoff.
Very informative and easy to follow . Thanks for a great video .
bro, by far the best tutorial on the subject matter that I've come across (& this is without any oration)... doesn't get more synoptic than this.
That is a very instructive and concise video. Thanks for the help.
This little ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif tub works perfect in our 6 x 6 shower and is easy to get in and out. Also easy to drain.
This is one of the most satisfying videos I've ever seen in my life.
ye
The rench you used at 2:13 has two sides, the wide for the back of the stem and narrow for the front of the stem. You have to make sure that both the front and back of the stem are tight, especially when you are replacing the stem to a new one.
all I needed to know. THANK YOU
Number one rule put a rag in the drain i lost a couple screws b for lol
great and easy to follow video. Thanks.
Thanks 4 the video straight 2 the point gr8 video
I have the kind for the old Waltec, faucet and handles are attached. I managed to pull the casing off but can't for the life of me pry those bolts off. Does anyone have any suggestions? Tried WD-40 is there some other chemical? It probably hasn't been opened since the house was built 40 years ago. The left side valve probably needs a washer like this video shows as this side is causing the leak from spout.edit.... 3 hours later i got it done! Thank you so much
One question - what is the socket size to unscrew the rubber washer holding unit ?
very good video, I learned a lot
What’s the best tape to keep a side mirror on a 2014 town and country chryster
Awesome job this was helpful
Thank you. Very helpful video, also, the music made it pleasant to watch.
Very nice and informative. Mine is a same problem and try it as shown and explained. Thanks
Is that hexagonal pipe a valve puller?
My drippy faucet is running me raggedy and running my water bill up. How did you know it was tha hot water one that had the issue?
Most of the times is the one with the hot water because the heat softens the gasket and wears it out faster.
What about if the screw is damaged, how can I remove it? Thanks!
I have hard water and the phillips head just started shreading when trying to remove. I called Price Pfister and sent them the photos of the trim and stem valves when taken out of the wall , told them the year that my hubby put them in and they are sending me another set of hot and cold water valve stems)... FREE! (because of their warranty) . This set had replaced the prior hardware 8 years before!
What size washer and screw are needed?
I did change both valves and the seat, but it is still leaking.
Should we change the other washer/screw in the Cold handle as well?
May as well while you still have the recent knowledge and experience and it's fresh on your mind and nobody borrowed your tools and didn't return. Especially if your parts have a warranty and the company is sending you free replacements!
Holy Jesus.... I feel so stupid now.. I have let my shower head leak for the past few yrs. cause I thought it was some huge deal to get fixed.. I live in a one-light-town and getting a plumber is impossible. I now see how much this "wrench" is that people would call impossible to get in this town unless you a plumber.. is only $10.00 bucks on ebay... F***K.. I feel so stupid.. lol.. Anyhow, any thoughts on what size washer I will need.. I'm in a single wide trailer. Pretty standard I would assume. Thanks for sharing by the way! Smh... I should've done this yrs. ago...
Awesome video friend. What's that piece that you use at 1:11?I suspect I have the same problem but I never done this before. Seems simple enough for a DIY project.
+Fito Escabi It's a shower valve socket / wrench. Hope it helps
You buy them in a set.
Is that a Price Pfister?
Thanks !!! Awesome it helped me !!!
I got a 3 handle and my hot water dont run when I turn it on. So just replace the hot water cartridge piece and I'll be good? Thanks in advanced...
What is the name of the tool you used to pull the part in side?
would you ever have to replace the entire cartridge?
Great video, all the way around!
My problem is the washer screw is so soft & breaks easily. I'm afraid if I use "screw extractor", it won't work because it will break apart. Any suggestion?
If you are the original purchaser, the hardware company, Price Pfister in this case (I just had to replace the same type valve stem after doing an update 8 years ago) will send you replacement parts, if you send them photos of the valve stem once removed from the site -- for free, if it's their set. There' s usually a P (Price) - P (Pfister) engraved on the neck of valve stem
Man, that set-up is completely different to how taps are in Australia. Thanks for making the video, though.
Same way the other way around. I was trying to watch an Aussie video and the hardware was soooooo wanky
Tools used???
Are the other two faucets the same work as the one you replaced ?
Could you perform this repair without turn of the water ?
No. As soon as you remove the valve water will come shooting out of there with the strength of a garden hose. Unfortunately that makes it pretty hard to complete the rest of the steps.
Great video, very helpful. Thank you!!! I fixed my shower 😊👍
What brand faucet is that?
So if it’s loose that’s the part I need to tighten
nice video
Great video, had to go through three stupid videos to find this one
changed the washer stil leaks. How do I fix this
You need a new brass seat that fits inside the valve. Look at another video for that.
@@MrUsaer Sadly, I have a bathroom that has similar fixtures that needs a new brass seat. It will be a mess to replace.
No wonder you have leaks, that washer for the tub was way too small.
if you test it and it still leaks you're going to have water in your walls :/
Not enough to hurt anything. But if you do NOT test it and it leaks, you are going to have a problem later.
and if it leaks, it's just telling you to tighten it and retest! Easy-peezy....hopefully if you didn't strip anything
This was super annoying. The 70’s porn music was a bit much also...
Get somebody to clean that bathroom! Sounds like porno music when you're replacing the shower head.
still drips
Trappist Achel why don’t you clean it if you complaining about it and have you been watching porno?
What is the name of the tool that pulled out the valve?
