    Thanks for this and can't wait to try this can-o-beans exercise! ...I have been doing all other exercises for 5 months following a double, golf- and tennis-elbow diagnosis (from blunt trauma & over use) which forced me into life-style changes (including ergo mouse and going switch on the squash court...). Looking forward to tennis season 2022.

    Spot on. Just got rid of my tenniselbow after 2 months. Mostly with similar exercises Besides the can of beans I need to try that! Also what helped me to heal was switching to an ergonomic mouse with being 8h a day on the PC.

    Yes, I did most of those exercises for my tennis elbow, especially the massage heavily. The massage is importantly needed to force more blood through the tendons (for healing) because tendons have a much coarser blood supply than muscles.

    I have to agree that the type of string and tension plays a big role here. I'm not aware the experience coach changed my string to black widow, then my arm hurts after 2 sessions and not being able to play for at least 9 months. It was so bad that I could not even lift up the cup with my right arm. I was then advised by a friend to changed it to multifilament, lowered the tension on the same racquet, tried to play again while trying to get treatment at the same time. I'm still doing all sort of exercise to relief the pain until today, and continue to play at the same time. This is a very informative videos and I hope it will reach out to more people who needs it much and I also sharing my experience to those who needed them. I have changed to a different racquet, different type of string and tension, of course Im still working on the exercise to relief the pain on my arm and shoulder until today.

    I got rid of a mild tennis elbow by loosening my hand grip on the racket, hitting my forehand a bit earlier and eventually changing from a head extreme to a gravity. With the gravity, I loose a bit of power, but almost any poly string feels soft enough, at 48, 50ish lbs.

    How often would you suggest to re-string the Kirschbaum Super Smash orange for beginner/intermediate players when they string between 35 and 40 lbs? Especially considering tennis elbow prevention? How often do you re-string these days? I know polys go "dead" rather "quickly" so a rough estimate in hours of playtime would be super helpful.

  • @georgem1948
    @georgem1948 2 роки тому

    In general, listen to your elbow..if you feel something it could be an indicator that your racquet is too light, strings are dead and need restringing, or the tension may not work for you. Invest in good strings and know it will take some experimenting to find your elbow's sweetspot.

    Racket weight, grip size, types of strings, string tension and technique (i intentionaly skipped racket stiffness) play a huge role in developing or avoiding tennis elbow. All, except of technique, can be taken care of from the 1st day you decide to learn and play tennis. You just need to contact and get advice and tips from the right person. Don't let tennis elbow first develop and then try to understand what all these things mean like me. If your tennis coach does not advice you on any of thje above just find another one. We are talking about our health here! If go to buy a racket, before talking to your future coach, and the sales person does not check your hand size (or sex and size) in order to give you a racket with the correct grip size and specs then move on to another store. He will definitely also skip the string type selection and string tension setting. Dont waste time, money and above all physical well being

    Tennis elbow is caused by scar tissue. Finding a practitioner of Active Release Technique (ART) is the best way to fix strip away the scar tissue that causes tennis elbow. It hurts during the treatment, but it works. I had an extreme case of tennis elbow, and tried everything. I was thinking of getting surgery until I came across ART. Within a matter of a few weeks of one a week sessions, it was gone. ART also works for many other injuries.

    • @caljaq
      @caljaq 2 роки тому

      @@maxpowers4436
      Carpal Tunnel is the same issue, caused by a buildup of scar tissue. When people have Carpal Tunnel surgery, the doctor cleans the scar tissue out that is binding the tendons. ART is a non-invasive way of achieving the same result. That's why there are now ART practitioners on most college & pro teams. It allows recovery from many soft tissue related injuries in a fraction of the time of traditional methods. If you haven't tried it, you are probably still dealing with a host of nagging injuries that limit your performance that can be fixed in one visit with a certified ART practitioner. I know, I've used it more times than I can count for a variety of injuries that I thought were the end of my singles playing career. Now at 61, I regularly beat 4.5 players half my age or less, in part to the fixes I've had over the years from ART. Just saying!

    Her elbow pain might be coming from poor technique more than anything else. She could be squeezing the tennis racket too hard, or on the contrary, keeping her fingers too loose which gives too much vibration to her forearm. And very often her hand is not at the very bottom of the racket handle, but moves closer to the middle - the wrist is at the weird angle that way, and the forearm gets strained as well. Agree with Nick about trying her with a different racket, but he should be watching her grip and the whole racket movement more closely
