You got this!! - Спорт
After watching untold thousands of tennis UA-cam videos, this is the most comprehensive and clear use of segmented progressions on the tennis serve. Thanks. Glad I found your channel. 🎾
Cam Lendrim wow thanks so much. So glad you enjoyed the video.

Totally agreed.

You really have a talent for teaching tennis. Bless up.
g tran wow thanks so much. So kind
I’d agree. I’ve been playing tennis for about 30 years and I’ve seen my kids being coached by pros, and I’ve never seen anyone explain technique in simple and clear terms like Ryan does, ever. Heck, both me and my kids have benefited from Ryan’s simple but hugely effective tips, more than from anywhere else. Kudos!!!
Ramesh Srinivas wow. That is such a nice thing to write. Thank you so much!!!!!!
@@2MinuteTennis I third this. I've played for awhile so I have the basics down, but watching these videos are a great review on form. You are really good at explaining form in tennis!
I couldn't agree more. He's truly amazing
The channel name: 2 minute tennis

Haha thanks for noticing!! Facebook isn’t a book of faces either. 😊🎾👍

This is honestly the best tutorial on serve I have ever watched.
Wow thank you so much!!

I have watched hundreds of videos on the serve but this is by far the best step by step tutorial. I really appreciate how you breakdown every aspect of what goes in a correct serve. Thanks coach!
I've watched many video explaining serving techniques, I can say that this one is the best
Wow thank you so much!!!!
Sorry Hamza ...This is TOTALLY WRONG for ANY player who is better than 2.o
And THAT Roger 'Serve' is an action for a SECOND serve. Action and MOVEMENT for a FIRST serve is DIFFERENT. Don't get sucked in yet.
@@braxtonshrianandan2438 thanks for the comments. 👍
Ryan knows his stuff
At about the eight minute mark, you addressed probably the single most important thing to help me improve and that is “don’t be too hard on yourself.” I am notoriously self critical, and it is detrimental to my learning because I have expectations that exceed my ability at this point. Great analogy about baking a cake and tasting the flower and saying it sucks. Of course it’s going to suck, it’s not done yet. I have been told how to serve by instructors and have gone out and hit hundreds of balls for hours on end and didn’t seem to get anywhere, not on any consistent level anyway. Going to give this step-by-step improvement method a chance and will definitely report back. Thank you so much for all of your great videos, they are very greatly appreciated.
The explanation was easy to understand even for Japanese people. I learned a lot.
Really helped me understand more of the physics of what’s happening with the “ball goes where the strings point,” and then racket path creates direction of spin. I was struggling with serve in part because the whole side on, swing up, swing towards side fence, etc., never made any logical sense to me, so I was never able to troubleshoot my own serve. Very helpful, thank you.
Kevin M. So glad the video helped explain how it’s done. Thanks for erring me know.
Absolutely brilliant!! So well explained. Makes it look so easy too. You're a star
Thanks a lot Ryan for share your knowledge, simply, clear, awesome!
“The ball goes where my strings point, not where the racket travels”
If there was a Tennis Bible, this would be in it.
Haha thanks so much!! Appreciate the support
Nothing could be further than the truth ☺️. Swing powers your stroke the strings determine the path of the ball.

Where did you learn all this great information? How did you learn to teach this way?
Very thorough and comprehensive! Thanks Coach.
Like everything else, life is a product of learning experiences. Great lesson here on hitting arm position. My serve has lately been in the toilet, but today with these tips it's back, flatter, more twist, more pace, more consistncy albeit rather different from my previous serve. Nice video!
Love this! The best tutorial for serve so far!! Thank you!!
So much of minute details you covered...thank you so much for sharing this information 😊
Fantastic, detailed and simple instructions! Great job explaining the basic serve in its tiniest details! Wish I could see the differences between kick, slice and flat serve also explained by Ryan.
Awesome instructor! Very practical and effective without giving useless importance to body mechanics and physiology like some others show off on. Keep up the great work, coach!
Haha thanks. I never want to sound “smart”. My only goal is to be helpful. Thanks for the support!!

I've played tennis for a year and watched hundreds of coaching serves online but there is none as brilliant as yours. I really love the "knocking off the bday hat off" part - actually what I've missed and struggled over the year. Thank you so much sir! wish you all the best and more videos coming up !
Have been looking at youtube for many years and play tennis for many years, I still can't do my serve right until this video! Thank you for sharing such detail lesson! Best lesson ever

I like the way you teach; it is very clear and a good method for serving! Thank you very much!
Wow thank you. I appreciate your kind words and support.
Thanks for the great video.....you show the correct way to serve step by step very clearly
Oh wow, amazing video!! Thank u so much for breaking this down, I have never understood how to do this right but it made so much sense the way u showed it👍
Ryan, really made a difference with the birthday hat thing and only bouncing with the ball with my hand (not the racket). Thank you for this! Keep up the solid work, coach!
Hey thanks for letting me know the bday hat helped you. And bouncing only with the hand helps a lot too. Have an awesome day!!!
The most comprehensive tutorial on the serve!!
Thank you so much Rashid!! Really appreciate it!!!
Great!
Hi Ryan!
Thanks a lot for the video, thanks to you my drive and backhand have improved a lot, now I'm working on the serve and slice.
I am a high school teacher, I wanted to tell you that your explanations are very good and pedagogical.

Perfect explanation that comes from a profound knowledge of this beloved sport! Thanks a million!
Wow thank you!! I’m so glad you found it helpful!!
Excellent tutorial. You make it so easy to understand what needs to be done to develop a decent serve. Thanks.
This is so great. My brother and I are new to tennis (and very excited to get to the next level) and I’m tired of starting every point with soft drives! Sending this to him for some homework before we play next.
One of the best videos I've seen on the serve.I already have the lines drawn on my hand and the racket, practicing in my living room and hoping to implement this in my USTA match tomorrow. Will continue practicing afterwards. I love the birthday hat idea! Thank you.
Thank you Gabriela. I’m so glad you liked the video. Stay patient and good luck. Keep me posted!!
I cannot fault this video. I've played this game since 5 now 65 and your video is invaluable. AWESOME instruction. I cannot believe the ease of how I achieve so much more accuracy yet more power with less effort??? Thank you for these fantastic fundamentals, watching second time for second practice. No doubt I'm finally on the right course. You'll love my chocolate cake! 💯
Well someone with super critique will add if I don't. Suoinate, pronate KEEP YOUR ARM LOOSE. I'm going to have to practice both especially SUPINATE. Getting that knife edge makes sense in theory mastering it in reality... Let's just say thankfully I have the entire winter to develop any muscle memory. Being a righty getting the serve short and to the back hand in the ADD COURT is now a possibility. Probability? I'll get back right back to you, somewhere in April 🤭
Wow. Thank you. What kind words of support. Thank you for trusting me to help you with your tennis. Have an awesome day!!!!
Love your channel man. Lots of sophisticated ideas presented in a straightforward and upbeat manner!
Extremely helpful tips with easy and useful explanations. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Thanks, great video. I am short and 50+ and a beginner, next thing to learn is the serve. I have made all the mistakes you mentioned🤣.I Like the segmented approach, rather than the whole serve motion. Nervous but excited to try this. Will get the birthday hat🥳 Thanks from Cape Town, South Africa 🏖
That's a lot of learning! Congrat's
Superb. Explanation of the grip with lines on the handle and hand was great. Cake metaphor, patting a dog and birthday hat really help too. 👏👏
Wow. What an amazing video on tennis serve. I have watched many good videos on tennis serve on UA-cam and other online websites but this is so far the best I have seen and the great about this video is if you try his steps , you will see huge difference on your serve. I wanted to thank you for the video and no doubt you are an amazing coach. Thanks again for the video!!
This is the most concise video on 'serve' fundamentals that I have ever seen. Just implementing the the first part of positioning the arm properly has already made a noticeable difference in good serve percentages and with more pace too! I'm looking forward to progressing through the entire lesson including full pronation and spin.
So happy to hear that. Thanks so much for trusting me to help you!
Best explanations I have seen. Easy to practice, and very professional. Thank you, sir!
Thank you so much Yufan!
Great grip! Very helpful! What a lovely lodge in the background! Wish I was there.
Love this VDO!!! Thank you for the tips!!! Easy to understand! Now I’m working on my new serve!!❤️
A good coach is blessed with the ability to observe and from his observations come insights and the ability to point them out. You have done just that ! I like the birthday hat example. I see it now. Just until a week ago I had no idea I was bringing the racquet back incorrectly resulting in that infamous waiter’s serve. Thankfully, because of your advice and a minor adjustment I made, I’m no longer doing it and can knock the hat off my head easily...😁. Thank you. That’s a neat little device you have to demonstrate spinning a ball.
Wow what an awesome comment. I’m so happy to hear the birthday hat helped you. Thanks so much for the kind words. Have an awesome day.
i am watching from Korea . this is one of the best video in the world.
Wow thank you so much. I really appreciate you watching and letting me know you liked it!!! Have an awesome day!!!
This is by far the best video explanation of the slice serve for a beginner that I have seen on UA-cam and damn it helped me so much!
Thank you very very much!
Thank you for this complete and detailed tuturial !
I never seen a better tennis explanation ! You’re a great tennis teacher !
Wow thank you. There are great coaches out there so you saying that means the word to me!!!
Excellent list of Check Points for the serve. I would add that after you release the ball ALLOW YOUR TOSSING ARM TO CONTINUE UPWARD ALMOST TO THE VERTICAL. This will insure a reasonable height for the ball and it helps to get you
into the "Power Position" where your front shoulder is higher than your back shoulder.
Another outstanding tennis video. Bravo.
Agree! Really focusing on keeping my tossing arm as straight as possible has really helped my serve. Too many Rec players drop the tossing arm way too soon. The pros really stretch that towards the sky
Great video and you are such a cool and kind guy as evidenced by your interaction with your court neighbors ❤️❤️👍👍
This is super!!! Thank you.
Love this video . Such a great explanation
Hey thank you so much. So glad you liked the video.

this Video nails it ! - Thank you Sir for perfect teaching.
brilliant video, I picked up everything I need to do also. thanks so much
I just wanted to thank you man. You literally saved my tennis ass. I had a very nice serve in a past but then there was a huge break. When I decided to get back to the game something got changed in my serve technique and I started feeling a sharp shoulder pain when serving (at the exact moment I hit a ball). I made a research and realized that there are at least a few shoulder problems that might cause the pain including impingement and so on. At the same time I received a lot of suggestions what to do from my local tennis community and people have suggested a lot of things like stretch, yoga, doctor appointment, MRI and stuff like that. But I decided to try something from my opinion more realistic and reviewed my serve technique a long with this brilliant video. And all pain has gone immediately. You are great!!!
This is exactly me right now! Took a decade break and having intense pain when I serve. Everyone telling me to do exercises and see a physio but I suspect in addition to that, it is my technique. Seeing your comment makes me feel not alone and on the right track watching this video 🤩
This was freaking amazing! I want to go to the tennis court right now and try this out.
Haha thanks so much!! Let me know how it goes for you!! Thanks again
This is such an incredible explanation of serving technique. Never thought that so much goes into the full process. I always thought the racket has to be pointed where you are aiming. Thanks for such a wonderful video. Can't wait to try that on court. I will surely report my progress.
its really very informative and clear..thanks for the video..its really showed how u devout urself to teach. God bless u more.
Well explained, thank you so much
